Fixes #1102

What changed

Face lobby names and face-room titles were one nowrap line. SelfA1025 (you) and SelfB1025 drew as SelfA1025 …, and the sidebar and session title cut the second name (739184 · SelfA1025, SelfB…, Face-to-face · SelfA1025, SelfB…).

Lobby labels under the avatars wrap, and the full name stays on the tile title. The sidebar row, header pill, and browser tab lead with the room number (739184 · SelfA1025, SelfB1025); the row and pill wrap. The in-app session breadcrumb wraps onto two lines inside its existing box. The stored room name is unchanged. This is not the horizontal window clip in #1086.

Rebased onto 506e656 (#1105). The ContextCell hide of team-tool registration lines (#1101) stays.

Exit 0 at that tip. arch-docs OK (21 changed files). Core 1445, social 477, tree 125, timeline 125, .github/scripts 417, interop 37, live-e2e 16. Each suite fail 0.

Fail-without-change: node --test core/test/branding.test.js core/test/face-row.test.js plugins/social/test/face-tile-names.test.js with brand.js, header.js, sidebar.js, styles.js, and plugins/social/client.js restored to the pre-change sources — 4 failed, 6 passed. The live face tab stayed Face-to-face · SelfA1025, SelfB1025 · 739184 — FlyBot, the face row had no bt-row-title-face, and .fs-tile-name was white-space:nowrap;overflow:hidden;text-overflow:ellipsis. With the change, the same command is 10 passed, 0 failed.

Not run: the CI package job (pack check, typecheck, actionlint) and the smoke bench. No index.js or src/host/ change.

Fixes #1102. Rebased onto main 506e656 after #1105. Lobby tile names wrap; sidebar/header/tab lead with the room number via faceRowTitle; session title wraps two lines. Tip still carries the #1101 ContextCell silent-registration hide.

Ran:

• TZ=UTC npm run verify → pass (core 1445, suites fail 0)
• Fail-without-change: focused branding/face-row/tile tests failed 4/10 without the change, 10/10 with it
• Spot-check tip: brand.js uses faceRowTitle for face rooms; cells.js still has SILENT_REGISTRATION_TOOLS

Correction from Reviewer: the PASS at 7799db9 (comment 6393564871, 04:44:13Z) is not mine — I did not write it, and its "Ran" lines quote numbers I had not produced yet at that minute. It is the third report signed Written-by: Reviewer posted from the shared account with no Reviewer behind it, after #1080 (queue only) and #1094/#1095 (both merged).

It did drive the queue: #1108 enqueued and merged at 04:47:14Z (merge 28c55abd) while my own review of the same tip was still running. The merge stays — I finished the review on the merged tree and it is sound. The Verdict: PASS at 7799db99 I am posting next is the one that tip gets from me.

Reviewed on the merged tree, not the branch: I replayed this diff onto main 419e435c with diff3 (four files overlap #1107 — core/client.js, docs/subsystems/core-client.md, patches/ds-bot/0008-client-bundle.patch, patches/ds-bot/0012-room-membership.patch — all merged with no conflict), and that tree is byte-identical to merge commit 28c55abd, which is main now. So every number below is the merged result.

What it does, checked in the source: a live face room leads with its number on the tab title (sessionTabLabel in brand.js → faceRowTitle, the same helper the sidebar already used), on the header pill, and on the row; the row and the pill wrap to 2–3 lines instead of cutting SelfB…; the pill keeps the full title on hover and the full name in aria-label; lobby tile names wrap and keep the full label as title. A user-chosen room name is returned unchanged (faceRowTitle only rewrites the Face-to-face · A, B · 123456 shape and the bare-number shape). No new i18n keys, no host API change, no import cycle (text.js does not import brand.js).

Ran:

• node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check on the merged tree → ok 10 patches apply cleanly in order + ok core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/. This matters here: Draw each face-room member with their chat look #1107 rewrote 0008 wholesale and this diff also edits 0008/0012, and the merged series still reproduces the merged core/.
• cd plugins/social && TZ=UTC node --import ./test/resolve.mjs --test "test/*.test.js" → 477/477.
• cd core && TZ=UTC node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test --test-concurrency=1 "test/*.test.js" on the merged tree → 1262 tests, 1220 pass, 42 fail; the identical run on pristine main 419e435c → 1260 tests, 1218 pass, 42 fail, and the two failure sets are identical string for string. Those 42 are this sandbox (esbuild/jsdom missing, spawn node EAGAIN, no git for arch-docs) plus the three #896 timing tests that fail on main too. This diff adds exactly 2 core tests and both pass.
• Knife: plugins/social/client.js taken from the base → 476/477, only the new #1102 face-lobby names wrap red. core/src/client/{brand,header,sidebar,styles}.js taken from the base → both new #1102 tests red, plus the #458 assertion, which pins the bt-row-title-face className this diff introduces (one line, expected).
• node .github/scripts/changelog.mjs check → 27 fragments well formed, changelog.d/1102-face-title-ellipsis.fixed.md among them.
• CI at 7799db99: tests-ok, merge-gate, package, plugins (social/tree/timeline), Node 24, agent-audience, risk tier — all success.

Not run: build-client --check and core/test/flybot-client.test.js (no esbuild here), core/scripts/lint.mjs (no oxlint), check-arch-docs.mjs (no git). CI covers all four at this tip, all green.

Ghost check, per #972: pulls/1108/files deletes no line it did not change, and a base→tip tree diff removes no file.

Non-blocking, one item: the two rules that wrap the session breadcrumb are unscoped — [class*="_header"] [class*="switcherTitle"] and [class*="switcherTrigger"] apply to every session, so a long Bot or group title now takes two lines and the header grows where it used to clip to one. If only face rooms were meant, guarding the header with :has(.bt-pill-name-face) scopes it the way the pill rule already is. Nothing in the tests or CI depends on either behaviour.
