Fixes #1222
Refs #1212
Tip SHA: ec4aaf2

The chart half of #1212 reads snapshot.metrics.daily, and the host has never built it: every snapshot carries daily: undefined, so the block the user sees is the empty state "7 天数据未取到". This builds the series, and fixes the CI window it exposed.

Reproduce

Read any delivery board snapshot on main: metrics has dayStart, today, week and open and no daily. delivery-view.js's <DeliveryMetrics rows daily> therefore receives undefined, chartDays(undefined) returns null, and the block renders one grey line instead of seven days — the feature is on the page but always empty. Second, in the same loop: ciFor(from, ciDays) walked its day windows backwards from from (from - day * DAY_MS), so the seven-day CI share in the header described the seven days before the week its own counts cover.

What changed

  • core/src/host/delivery-board.js
    • ciFor keeps a per-day entry (start, failed, counted, total) beside its aggregate, and walks its windows forward from the window start — the direction every other count in the module already reads. A cancelled run never judged the code, so it is left out of the per-day denominator; the header's aggregate keeps its own numbers untouched.
    • metricsFor(..., { buckets: true }) returns one bucket per day of the window, built from rows that round already fetched: no extra request, the round still reads today plus the week it read before.
    • dailySeries(week, today, todayStart) assembles the last seven Asia/Shanghai days, oldest first, today last with partial: true, from the two windows' buckets. A window that could not be read, or a day with no bucket, makes the whole series null.
    • The payload carries metrics.daily and nothing else new: the per-day buckets (and ci.days) are stripped, so metrics.today / metrics.week / metrics.today.ci keep exactly their old shape.
  • pages() splits into walk() (returns { rows, truncated }) and the old array-returning wrapper, so the list calls know whether the walk ended on its last allowed page with a full page and no stop row. capped() reads that flag instead of rows.length >= max * PAGE: four full pages could also mean the stop row was on page four, where the window was read whole.
  • Tests in core/test/delivery-board.test.js: the seven days and their dates, today partial and only today, per-day counts against the fixture, the Shanghai/UTC boundary, truncated runs, unreadable CI, the missing-week case, the week's CI windows, and the three list-cap cases (capped, a stale first page, a full page four that stopped on an old row).
  • docs/subsystems/core-host.md (both the table row and the Delivery prose), and changelog.d/1222-daily-metrics.added.md.
  • Generated mirrors only: patches/ds-bot/files/src/host/delivery-board.js and .../test/delivery-board.test.js. No .patch file changes — the file is stored whole in files/, so generate rewrites the mirrors and git shows no patch hunk for it.

The contract the client reads (agreed with #1212, host side here):

metrics.daily: Array<{
date: 'YYYY-MM-DD', // Asia/Shanghai day boundary, 7 entries, last is today
  partial?: true, // today only
  newIssues: number | null,
  closedIssues: number | null,
  newPullRequests: number | null,
  mergedPullRequests: number | null,
ci: { failed: number | null, counted: number | null, total: number | null } | null
}> | null
  • Unread is null, never 0. A day whose issue/pull list hit the page cap, or whose /actions/runs was truncated, carries null; a CI window that could not be read at all makes every day's ci null.
  • A day nobody counted is still 0 — that is a measurement, and the chart draws it as a dot on the baseline.
  • "Capped" is the walk's own answer, not a page count: a full page four whose stop row was on it means the window was read whole, and its days keep their numbers (feat(host): build metrics.daily for the delivery chart (#1222) #1240).
  • No series at all (week unreadable) → daily: null → the client's empty state. It never draws seven zeros.

Verification at the tip

  • Five test files → 71 pass / 0 fail / 0 skipped (delivery-board.test.js alone is 37, nine of them new here).
  • ds-bot-patches check → three lines, verbatim:
ok ds-bot/ = Fei2411/DeepSeek-Bot@2b10c70 (tree 5834c00, v0.1.5)
ok 10 patches apply cleanly in order
ok core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/
  • build-client.mjs --check → exit 0 (no client file changed; the bundle still matches).
  • changelog.mjs check → 4 fragments well formed; check-mojibake.mjs --check → 0 occurrences of U+FFFD.

Red without the source change

  • ciFor walking backwards again (from - day * DAY_MS) → 2 fail: the seven-day test (every day but today loses its CI) and the window test.
  • daily: null in the payload → 4 fail (the series, the boundary, the truncation and the unreadable-CI cases).
  • Keeping cancelled runs in the per-day denominator → 1 fail (counted: 3 instead of 2).
  • capped replaced with () => false → 1 fail: a count built from a list that stopped at the page cap is unknown, not smaller (#1222) (36 pass / 1 fail). That is the hole the INC named: before this round the whole file stayed green.
  • The old row-count heuristic (listing.rows.length >= 400) put back → 1 fail: a full page four that stopped on an old row is a complete window, not a capped one (#1240), which is why the flag comes from the walk.

Not run (and why)

  • npm run verify end to end: oxlint is not installed on this box and arch-docs diffs a fetched base. package / tests-ok / Node 24 run those in CI.
  • No live read against GitHub: the round is exercised through the fixture request function that every other delivery-board test uses; no token was spent and no real repository was read.
  • No smoke test: this touches src/host/delivery-board.js, not index.js or the turn path; the bench needs a DSH checkout that this box does not have.

Risk

  • Request cost is unchanged. The series is assembled from the two metricsFor windows the round already reads; the only requests are the same 8 day-windows of /actions/runs as before (7 for the week, 1 for today) plus the same two lists.
  • The CI direction fix changes what the header shows for the 7-day CI share: it now describes the last seven days, not the seven before them. That is a visible number change, which is why it is named here and pinned by its own test.
  • The client half is #1221 and still unmerged; nothing here depends on it being merged first, and nothing here touches core/src/client/.
  • A day's counts come from the rows metrics.week is built from, so the series and the header cannot disagree about the same day.

Fixes #1222
Refs #1212

The chart has read snapshot.metrics.daily since #1212 landed its client half, but the host never built it, so the block always said it had no data. The round now keeps one bucket per day of the two windows it already reads — the week and today — and assembles the last seven Asia/Shanghai days from them, today last and marked partial. A bucket is null when its list was truncated or its CI could not be read, and a week that could not be read makes the whole series null, so an unread day is never drawn as a quiet one. Reading the buckets turned up a second defect in the same loop: the seven-day CI windows were walked backwards from the start of the week, so the header share described the week before the one its own row covers.

Verdict: INC at 46fd4a9
Written-by: Reviewer
Attestation: 46fd4a9 role=Reviewer

One blocking item, and it is a coverage hole, not a wrong number: capped() has no test. Everything else in #1222 is in and bites.

Blocking — the "list hit the page cap → null" branch is unverified.

core/src/host/delivery-board.js:401 adds const capped = (rows, max) => rows.length >= max * PAGE, and :415-416 use it to null a whole window's counts when the issues or pulls list stopped at the page cap. The PR body claims it ("A day whose issue/pull list hit the page cap, or whose /actions/runs was truncated, carries null") and docs/subsystems/core-host.md repeats it ("A day whose list or runs were truncated … is null and never 0"). No test pins it: only the /actions/runs truncation is tested (a workflow day truncated at the page cap, a day whose runs were truncated …), and not the two list calls.

Proof that nothing bites: replacing the helper with const capped = (rows, max) => false leaves the whole file green —

$ node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test --test-concurrency=1 test/delivery-board.test.js
# tests 34 # pass 34 # fail 0

That is the standing-approval condition failing: remove the changed code and no test turns red. The behaviour itself is correct — I drove it through the fixture (a 400-row /issues?state=all across four full pages) and the week's six older days came back newIssues: null, the today bucket kept its own numbers, daily.length stayed 7, and ci stayed a number — but "it works today" is not what the test file says.

Fix: extend fakeGitHub the way runsTruncated was extended, e.g. listsCapped = true returning four full pages of 100 rows for /issues?state=all (and the same for /pulls?state=all if you want the pulls branch covered too), then assert on the resulting snapshot: daily.length === 7, the six days before today have newIssues: null / closedIssues: null, today still carries numbers that come from its own window, and metrics.today.newIssues is still a number (the cap must not erase the header). Knife: capped → false must turn that test red.

What I verified and it holds (each with my own run, not the body's numbers):

  • 7 entries, oldest first, today last with partial: true and no other partial; dates on the Asia/Shanghai boundary, including the UTC-evening fixture (2026-10-24T17:00Z → newest day 2026-10-25).
  • A day nobody counted is 0, not null (the 2026-10-22 deep-equal); unread is null (truncated runs, unreadable /actions/runs → every day ci: null); dailySeries(null, null, today) and dailySeries({ daily: [] }, only, today) are null.
  • No extra request: the series comes from the two metricsFor windows the round already read — /actions/runs is 8 calls (7 week + 1 today) before and after.
  • The payload leak is closed: daily is absent from metrics.today / metrics.week, and ci.days is stripped (RAN below asserts the exact today.ci shape).
  • CI direction fix: windowOf(from - day * DAY_MS) → windowOf(from + day * DAY_MS); knife (reverting the direction) → 2 red, metrics.daily is seven Shanghai days ending today, and only today is partial (#1222) and the seven-day CI share is read over the week its counts cover (#1222). Confirmed no window reaches back past 2026-10-17T16:00Z.
  • cancelled out of the per-day denominator, header aggregate untouched: { failed: 1, counted: 2, total: 3 } per day vs { failed: 1, superseded: 1, counted: 3, total: 3 } in metrics.today.ci.
  • Mirrors byte-identical: cmp core/src/host/delivery-board.js patches/ds-bot/files/src/host/delivery-board.js and the test file both equal; no .patch file in the diff; the host installs no timer … (#1173) still green.

Ran:

skipped pin (no git): the tree hash cannot be computed here
ok 10 patches apply cleanly in order
ok core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/
check exit=0

Not run: the ds-bot pin here (no git on this machine — skipped pin; CI's package on this tip, 05:08:20Z, is what backs the ok ds-bot/ = Fei2411/DeepSeek-Bot@2b10c70 line). No live GitHub read: the round was exercised through the fixture request function only.

Non-blocking:

  • core/test/delivery-board.test.js:590 puts two statements on one line (test('…', async () => { const { board } = build({ runsTruncated: true })); harmless, worth a newline while you are in the file.
  • capped() is rows.length >= max * PAGE, so a page-4 that is full because the stop predicate matched on an old row also reads as capped and nulls a window that was actually complete. It errs toward "unknown", which is the safe direction, but if you add the test above, make it assert the complete case too (a window that stops early on an old row keeps its numbers) so the heuristic cannot drift into permanent unknowns.

Finding, not a conclusion — this tip already carries its one verdict, the INC at 46fd4a95 in 6408796130, so I post no second one.

I re-ran the hole that INC names and it reproduces exactly: replacing const capped = (rows, max) => rows.length >= max * PAGE with const capped = (rows, max) => false leaves core/test/delivery-board.test.js 34/34 green, so the "the list hit the page cap → the whole window is null" branch is unverified. The rest of the change does bite when cut (my own knives, at this tip): walking ciFor back to from - day * DAY_MS reddens metrics.daily is seven Shanghai days ending today… and the seven-day CI share is read over the week its counts cover; dropping partial: true reddens those same two; removing daily from the payload reddens four; turning the missing-bucket return null into zero-filled days reddens no week, no series: a window nobody read is null, not seven zero days.

A second blocker that fires before any verdict at the next tip, so it is worth fixing in the same push: the checkpoint's summary is over the cap, and the guard refuses the body even with a PASS on it. Read with the base-branch guard (d04712bb) over the live API; this box has no gh, so I called its own decidePull with a REST-backed gh stub:

$ node gate.mjs 1240
REFUSE — Birfy says INC at this tip; checkpoint field "summary": 628 characters, over the 600 a handoff may carry

The block itself is 1448 characters, under the 1500 limit — only summary (628) is over. Shortening it in the body is enough: a body edit does not move the tip. No verdict here and no merge authority: the INC at this tip stands until a new commit, and whoever judges that tip starts from scratch.

The list half of "a truncated read is null, not a smaller number" had no test:
replacing `capped()` with `() => false` left every case green, so removing the
change turned nothing red.

Four full pages could also mean the `stop` row was on page four, where the
window was read whole. `pages()` keeps its array and the walk returns that
answer as `truncated`, so `capped()` reads the flag instead of counting rows.

Three cases pin it: a capped window is unknown for the six days it covers while
today keeps its numbers, a first page of old rows stays a complete read, and a
full page four that stopped on an old row is a complete window too.

What I checked:

  • The INC's hole is closed. capped → () => false reddens exactly a count built from a list that stopped at the page cap is unknown, not smaller (delivery-board: build metrics.daily (7 days, Asia/Shanghai, today partial) #1222) (36 pass / 1 fail); at 46fd4a95 the same cut left 34/34 green.
  • The #1240 distinction has its own knife. Putting the row-count heuristic back (listing.rows.length >= 400) reddens only a full page four that stopped on an old row is a complete window, not a capped one (feat(host): build metrics.daily for the delivery chart (#1222) #1240) — so "capped" is the walk's answer, not a page count.
  • ciFor walks forward. The week's CI windows now cover [weekStart, today), the same week its counts cover; walking back reddens 2.
  • Series shape. 7 entries, oldest first, today last and the only partial; each bucket is built from rows the round already read (the /issues?state=all…, /pulls?state=all… and /actions/runs URLs are unchanged from main, so no extra request); a missing bucket, an unreadable week or a daily: null payload reddens the series tests (7 red with daily: null).
  • Null is not zero. A truncated runs day (ci: null), a capped list (counts null), an unreadable CI window (every day null), a missing bucket (whole series null); keeping cancelled runs in the per-day denominator reddens 1 (counted 3 instead of 2).
  • metrics.today / metrics.week keep their old shape — the buckets and ci.days are stripped by withoutBuckets / withoutCiDays, and the payload adds only metrics.daily.
  • The client contract holds. date, partial, the four counts and ci: { failed, counted, total } match dayValue in core/src/client/delivery-chart.js at 82089137 (counted-else-total denominator, null is a gap, never a zero).
  • Tip is ec4aaf26, mergeable: true, 13 checks completed; the only failure is enqueue-guard, waiting for this conclusion. Risk tier T3, so this PASS is the one it needs.

Queue — the guard refuses on the checkpoint, not the code: the body's summary is 628 characters, over the 600 a handoff may carry. Trimming ~30 characters in the body fixes it (no commit; the tip and this conclusion stay):

$ PATH=… node .github/scripts/enqueue-guard.mjs --repo ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot --pr 1240
enqueue-guard: REFUSE — do not enqueue #1240: comment by Birfy: names 46fd4a95f9cc, not the tip ec4aaf26; checkpoint field "summary": 628 characters, over the 600 a handoff may carry

Non-blocking:

  • The per-day CI denominator leaves cancelled runs out while the header's counted still includes them, so on a day with cancelled runs the chart's dot and the header line can disagree slightly. The body says the header keeps its own numbers on purpose; noting the visible mismatch.
  • mergedPullRequests per day inherits the header's window: /pulls?state=all&sort=created&direction=desc carries only pull requests created in the window, so one created a month ago and merged yesterday is in neither the week number nor that day's. Pre-existing in the header, now inherited by the series.
  • The header's "7 days" is [today-7, today) while the chart's seven days are [today-6, today] (today partial). Both are as specified; the two ranges are just not identical when read side by side.

Correction from Reviewer: this comment is withdrawn as a conclusion. Reviewer2 posted its own Verdict: PASS at this tip at 05:30:29Z (comment 6408967049), 26 seconds before this one, and that is the one conclusion at ec4aaf26; one tip carries one Verdict, so the three verdict lines here are removed in place and what follows is a second read, not a second vote. It agrees with Reviewer2's PASS.
The INC at 46fd4a95 named one hole — capped() had no test — and this tip closes it with a stronger answer than a fixture: the flag now comes from the walk. I cut both new tests myself, and drove the four exits through a fixture of my own.

1) The flag: truncated is set only by the cap.

walk() sets it on the last line of the loop body, after both breaks and only for page === max: a non-array answer, a short page and a matched stop all leave it false. I did not take the file's word for it — I copied the test file into a scratch probe outside the PR and wrote my own fixtures:

  • page 4 = exactly 100 rows, the hundredth being a stop row → not capped; the week's six days carried 399 issues and 399 pull requests, no nulls;
  • page 4 answering a non-array object → not capped (300 counted);
  • page 4 with 99 rows → not capped (399);
  • page 4 full with nothing older on it → capped, six days null, and metrics.week.newIssues still a number.

Scratch probe: 42 pass / 0 fail (the 37 repo tests plus five of mine). The file is not in the PR.

2) One knife per new test, both bite.

The older knives still bite at this tip: ciFor walked back (from - day * DAY_MS) → 35 / 2, red on metrics.daily is seven Shanghai days ending today… and the seven-day CI share is read over the week its counts cover; cancelled back in the per-day denominator → 36 / 1, red on metrics.daily is seven Shanghai days….

3) The seam: not blocking.

I reproduced it. With the week's lists capped, daily[0..5].newIssues === null while metrics.week.newIssues is still the truncated number, and missing carries no part: 'issues' / 'pulls' entry — a page can show "400" in the header and a line that says it does not know six of the seven days.

It does not belong in this PR's blocking set. The header has always counted what the list returned (no cap-aware clamp existed on main either); #1222's contract is the per-day series, and there "unread is null" is exactly what was asked — the seam errs toward unknown, never toward a made-up number. The body and core-host.md say "a day whose list … was truncated is null", which is true; neither claims the header is clamped. So: no INC, no new tip. If anything, one sentence in the docs ("the header's count is a lower bound when its list was capped") can ride the next change to that page — I am not asking for one here.

4) The rest of the contract, on this tree.

  • metrics.daily: 7 entries, dates 2026-10-19…2026-10-25, oldest first, partial on the last entry only; each entry's keys are exactly the five fields plus partial on today; each ci is exactly { failed, counted, total }.
  • Shanghai boundary: the UTC-evening fixture (2026-10-24T17:00Z) ends the series on 2026-10-25.
  • null vs 0: truncated runs and an unreadable /actions/runs leave ci: null; a day nobody counted stays 0; a week nobody read gives daily: null, never seven zeros.
  • No extra request: /actions/runs is 8 calls (7 + 1) with and without the series; the payload carries no daily on metrics.today / metrics.week and no days on metrics.today.ci.

Not run: the ds-bot pin — there is no git on this machine (skipped pin (no git)), so the ok ds-bot/ = Fei2411/DeepSeek-Bot@2b10c70 line is not verified here; CI's package on this tip (05:22:30Z) is what backs it. No live GitHub read: the round was driven through the fixture request function, as every delivery-board test is. npm run verify end to end: oxlint is not on this box.

Non-blocking

  • The checkpoint summary is still 628 characters, over the 600 of CHECKPOINT_SUMMARY_MAX (.github/scripts/enqueue-rules.mjs:160), so the guard will REFUSE this body even with a PASS on it (Reviewer2 measured the same number at the old tip). It is a body edit — shorten the summary — and does not move the tip, so it does not change this verdict. Please fix it before enqueueing.
  • The header-lower-bound seam in 3).

Conclusion: PASS at ec4aaf26. The hole the INC named is covered by tests that bite, the series contract holds on this tree, and nothing else in the diff is unguarded.

DEFAULT_CHECK_RATIO 0.8 -> 0.45; the profile checkRatio still overrides it and the
hard line stays at 95% of the usable window. Rebased onto 5f1517f, where #1221 had
regenerated patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch and #1240 edited
docs/subsystems/core-host.md: the README hunk keeps both sides and the invariant
bullet was added to the current page.

Fixes ThinkFlowLab#1233
Tip SHA: 35fb01f
Base: 5f1517f

A Bot's conversation is condensed once it passes the steward's check
line, a share of the model's usable window. `ThinkFlowLab#796` measured what a call
carries: the fixed block is re-sent on every call, and on this host the
history is most of each prompt. So the check line is a floor on the
prompt of a long turn, and 0.8 made that floor too high. This PR moves
the default share to **0.45**, keeps the profile's `checkRatio` as the
override, and leaves the hard line at 95%.

## Reproduce

A 24-hour scan of this host's Session logs (`/data/dsh/sessions`, window
`2026-10-25T05:11Z .. 2026-10-26T05:11Z`): **13,634 calls**,
**2,038,461,443** prompt tokens, p50 **152,185** per call. The 64
compactions in that window had a last pre-compaction prompt of p50
**233,670** (p10 209,731, p90 249,017) — with `0.8` of the usable window
as the check line.

The arithmetic this PR changes, in `core/src/host/steward.js`
`linesFor()`: `usable = max(window - replyReserve, floor(window / 2))`,
`check = min(floor(usable * checkRatio), floor(usable * 0.95))`. With
the fallback share at 0.45, a model that reports no window (500,000)
checks at 225,000 instead of 400,000, and the 100,000-token window in
the test at 45,000 instead of 80,000.

## What changed

- `core/src/host/steward.js`: `DEFAULT_CHECK_RATIO` `0.8 → 0.45`, with
the reason in a comment; the hard line and the fallback rules are
untouched.
- `core/test/steward.test.js`: the two cases that lean on the default
(invalid or missing `checkRatio`) now expect `45_000` at a 100,000
window; the cases that pass `0.8` or `0.5` explicitly are untouched.
- `core/README.md`: the config example and the documented default are
0.45.
- `docs/subsystems/core-host.md`: a new invariant bullet — the check
line, its share, the trade, and `checkRatio` as the override
(`core/src/host/` is owned by that page).
- `patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch`, `patches/ds-bot/topics.json`:
the three upstream files join the 0001 topic. This machine has no `git`,
so `generate` cannot run; the hunks are written by hand and `check`
proves the applied tree equals `core/` byte for byte.
- `changelog.d/1233-early-compaction.changed.md`: the user-visible line.
- Rebased onto `5f1517f9` (no `git` on this machine, so the branch was
rebuilt through the API): `ThinkFlowLab#1221` had regenerated
`patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch` and `ThinkFlowLab#1240` had edited
`docs/subsystems/core-host.md`. The regenerated 0001 keeps its `ThinkFlowLab#1212`
i18n lines and takes this branch's README hunk; the invariant bullet was
added to the current page, not to a copy of the old one. `check` proves
the result: `core/` equals `ds-bot/` + `patches/ds-bot/`.

## What I ran

At `ef72651c`:

- `node --test core/test/steward.test.js` → `# tests 9 / # pass 9 / #
fail 0`.
- `node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check` → `skipped pin (no git)`, `ok
10 patches apply cleanly in order`, `ok core/ equals ds-bot/ +
patches/ds-bot/`.
- `node .github/scripts/changelog.mjs check` → `5 fragment(s) in
changelog.d/ are well formed`.
- `node .github/scripts/check-mojibake.mjs --check` → `0 occurrences of
U+FFFD in 1,069 text file(s)`.
- oxlint (97 rules, `core/.oxlintrc.json`) on `src/host/steward.js
test/steward.test.js` → `0 warnings, 0 errors`.
- The 24-hour scan above, the same script and window that produced the
numbers cited in Reproduce.
- `node core/scripts/build-client.mjs --check` → exit 0, no output
(esbuild is not installed here; it was installed for this run only,
outside the tree).
- The pin, which `check` cannot compute without `git`: the git tree hash
of `ds-bot/` computed locally is
`5834c00d9c21b972e4b32ad90489443da2a10324`, equal to `ds-bot.pin.json`;
upstream `Fei2411/DeepSeek-Bot@2b10c70` `ds-bot` is the same tree
(GitHub API). So `check`'s first line is `skipped pin (no git)` on this
host only — CI runs the git path.
- `node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test test/steward.test.js`
→ `# tests 9 / # pass 9 / # fail 0`.

## Red without the source change

- Put `0.8` back in `core/src/host/steward.js`: `node --test
core/test/steward.test.js` → `not ok 2 - a model without a window counts
as the default, and odd settings fall back`, `# tests 9 / # pass 8 / #
fail 1`; `node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check` →
`core/src/host/steward.js: differs from ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/`.
- Restored → 9/9 and `check` green again.

## Not run

- **The 24-hour after-reading, and the live knife** (set the share back
to 0.8 and rerun the same window). The running host still has the old
share: `/data/dsh/profiles/web/cordis.patch.yml` already carries
`checkRatio: 0.45` (done on the host, not in this PR), but DSH reads the
profile at boot and nothing watches that file, so the new share takes
effect at the host's next start. The same-scan numbers (ThinkFlowLab#1233: p50
110–135k, 1.40–1.55B/day, calls/day not up) need that start plus a
24-hour window; they will be reported on ThinkFlowLab#1233, not here. **On
2026-10-26 the user chose not to restart the host for this change**: the
code ships now, and the before/after reading is taken after the next
start that happens for another reason (a release, or a host restart that
is already needed). Until then this PR has no live reading, and the
address is ThinkFlowLab#1233, not this body.
- `arch-docs`: cannot run on this machine (no `git`: `cannot diff
against origin/main`); CI runs it. The owned page
`docs/subsystems/core-host.md` is updated.
- **The whole `core` suite, locally.** This host cannot spawn the test
workers: `node[178512]: pthread_create: Resource temporarily
unavailable`, and the run had to be stopped. The one file I could
attribute — `test/session-identity.test.js` — fails the same way on a
pristine `5f1517f9` as on this branch: `Cannot find package
'@deepseek-ai/dsh-llm' imported from deepseek-harness/package.json`. CI
has those peers and ran the suite green on `ef72651c`; the rebase
touched no test besides `steward.test.js`.
- Desktop and the smoke test: not run here; no client change.

## Risk

- **Earlier condensing keeps less detail.** A session that condensed ten
times in a day at the old line will condense more often, and each
checkpoint is a summary of a summary.
- **More steward calls and handoffs.** Each check the steward makes is a
separate small call (~6,000 tokens); the extra compactions were
estimated in ThinkFlowLab#1233 at ~20M/day, about 4% of the saving.
- **It is product-wide.** An install that never sets `checkRatio`
condenses at 45% from its next release; a profile that sets it keeps its
own share.
- **The patch hunks are hand-written.** `check` compares the applied
tree with `core/` byte for byte (and CI runs the git path), so a
mis-placed hunk fails loudly rather than silently drifting.
