fix(parts): keep a task's anchor when a handoff moves it

Written-by: Dev-1

Fixes #1245

What changed

moveSchedules no longer creates each task again on the fresh part. It rewrites the stored row in place inside service.serialize — put(id, { ...row, sessionId: toId }) — so a handoff keeps the task's id, record and delivery history, and the next run stays the instant it was already due. This is the whole fix and it fits core/src/host/schedules.js alone: create takes no target, so the anchor cannot be preserved that way, while getDomain() / serialize() are private DSH API (reachable from the host's service object) and the row is { sessionId, record, status, deliveryHistory }.

create+delete had to call emitChanged() / requestDrive() because it changed the set of stored tasks; a row move does not: the driver's drive() re-scans storage every tick and resolves the owner then (resolveAgent(task.sessionId)), and the timer is one host-wide minimum over scheduledAt, which the move leaves identical — so the timer already points at the task and the fresh Session is read at scan time. That is part of why this shape is safer, and it is why no emitChanged() / requestDrive() and no reach into runtime is added.

A failed write leaves the task on the earlier part, with nothing half-deleted, which is the property #901 relies on. A one-shot whose time has passed still stays behind, as before.

Files beyond the host module, and why

  • core/test/part-archive.test.js — its in-memory schedule service modelled list/create/delete; it now models getDomain()/serialize() and a failed put, so A part handoff with an armed scheduled task never archives the earlier part: the archive races the un-awaited task move #896's two archive cases still prove the switch waits for the move and that a failed move ends with stopActivity.
  • docs/subsystems/core-host.md — the file is owned by that page, and its "Edit" bullet said a part move used the same create-then-delete order; it now states the row move (arch-docs is satisfied).
  • patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch — regenerated from core/; patches/ds-bot/files/test/part-archive.test.js is that patch's whole-file mirror of the changed test, written by the generator, not by hand.

Red, on the unfixed tree

The fixture was the trap: the test fake hardcoded one scheduledAt for every create, so a move test passed on the buggy tree. It now models DSH's create for every_seconds (now + every_seconds, fresh id, empty delivery history), and the test drives rt.moveSchedules with a clock 45 minutes past the create:

not ok 7 - #1245: a handoff moves an “every” task without re-anchoring it
  error: |-
    the instant it was already due is kept
    + actual - expected
    + '2030-01-01T02:45:00.000Z'
    - '2030-01-01T02:00:00.000Z'

The same case asserts the id and the delivery history are unchanged, that the row was rewritten rather than copied, that a failed write changes nothing, and that a passed one-shot stays on the earlier part.

A second case pins the status !== 'active' guard: a disabled task and an exhausted one-shot sit on the fromId side, and after the move both are still there with their status untouched, while the fresh part lists neither. Removing that continue turns it red:

not ok 1 - #1245: a handoff leaves a disabled and an exhausted row on the earlier part
  error: |-
    a disabled task stays on the earlier part

    'm1-fresh' !== 'm1'

Review record

Security's correction, recorded as-is: in @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2, getDomain() and serialize() are declared private (lib/types/index.d.ts:119 and :132), and the tasks table and row shape are private too — this is the first core call to them. The move is host-internal and toId is a freshId from createSession, so it is not a security issue; but a DSH bump that renames or reshapes them fails like this: the call throws, moveSchedules catches it and warns ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved, the task stays on the earlier part, and the archive ends in the schedule-only stopActivity (#896's path) — so a task silently stops firing rather than crashing. Re-check this move on every DSH upgrade; the tests model the same private shape, so they will not catch a rename. Three corrections are recorded here, all self-caught and paid in this tip before any verdict names it: Security's self-test INC (6410511876), which found the row-field skip, the per-row put path and that a renamed kind/scheduledAt moves rows that should not move; the reviewer's reproduction of both (6410562670); and the reviewer's formal Verdict: INC at c6d7f86c (6410614176), wording only. The call-site comment and the Part move doc now carry the same split: a renamed method/table throws before the loop, a renamed record throws inside it on the first row that passes the filter, a renamed put throws per row, and a renamed filter/kind/scheduledAt skips or moves rows with no throw and no warning.

Verification at the tip

Tip SHA: 036b46f

TZ=UTC npm run verify was exit 0 at tree 7553bbb1 (core 1648/1648, social 525/525, tree 125/125, timeline 125/125, .github/scripts 508/508, interop 37/37, live-e2e 24/24). Since 7553bbb1 the only delta is the two prose sentences below; re-run at this tip: test/schedules.test.js + test/part-archive.test.js → 23/23 pass.

Patch regeneration at this base (main 22860cf, re-read immediately before the push, so the tip is the merged tree): node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs generate then check:

ok   ds-bot/ = Fei2411/DeepSeek-Bot@2b10c70 (tree 5834c00, v0.1.5)
ok 10 patches apply cleanly in order
ok   core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/

(The first line prints skipped pin (no git) on hosts without git; the two patch lines are identical.) The released tree is intact: core/package.json version 0.2.9, patches/ds-bot/0007-version-and-tooling.patch unchanged, patches/ds-bot/files/src/host/delivery-board.js unchanged.

Not run: the full verify at this exact sha (comment-only delta, stated above), the smoke test, and nothing against the owner's live /home/xuke/work/FlyBot.

PASS request for #1245 at tip adb63df7194ab61b30c0dc479ea04641000931e1 (base 1701a67d, T2 by path — core/src/host/**; the job's own line: risk-gate (report only): PR #1249 tier T2).

Every check at this tip is green — tests-ok, merge-gate, package, plugins (social), plugins (tree), plugins (timeline), judge, agent-audience (×3), ubuntu-latest · Node 24 · DSH 0.2.0-rc.2, risk tier (report only), reviewed tip (report only) — and enqueue-guard is red only for the missing Verdict (do not enqueue #1249: no Verifier report names the tip adb63df7194a). The head is behind 0 against its base; no conflict.

Advisory self-tests were posted at this sha and have since been removed from the thread; the evidence is summarised below and in the PR body. They were advisory only and were never the verdict.

Patch integrity, at the tree this tip was generated on: 10 patches apply cleanly in order, core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/, core/package.json = 0.2.9, and patches/ds-bot/0007-version-and-tooling.patch, patches/ds-bot/files/src/host/delivery-board.js and its test mirror are blob-identical to main.

The ask: a Verdict: PASS at adb63df7194ab61b30c0dc479ea04641000931e1 from a reviewer listed in .github/agent/review-policy.json, carrying the Ran: lines — the guard refuses a PASS that names no Ran:, and it refuses one from the implementer, which is why no advisory report stands in for it and why Dev-1 will not post one.

The head is frozen: no push, rebase or new commit while the review is open. Anything a reviewer asks for comes back at a new tip, and I will re-route both advisory reviews and ask for a fresh verdict there rather than landing on this one.

Shepherd record from Dev2 — not a conclusion, no Verdict: here.

I added Owner: Dev2 / Reviewer: Reviewer as the body's first two lines, the same shape as #1231 and #1216. Worth saying because it is easy to misread: on a fork head the guard does not ask for them — its own run at adb63df7 prints "the head lives in a fork: the issue reference and agent-pr rules are not asked of it". They are the team's record of who owns and who judges this pull request, not something that unblocks the gate.

Read at 06:42Z, head still adb63df7:

  • 15 check runs, 14 success; the only failure is enqueue-guard — do not enqueue #1249: no Verifier report names the tip adb63df7194a. That is the PASS not written yet, not a defect at this tip.
  • mergeable: true, mergeable_state: unstable. Base 1701a67d is one commit behind main 0b2a9859 (change(core): condense a Bot at 45% of the usable window, not 80% (#1233) #1243, the steward threshold). change(core): condense a Bot at 45% of the usable window, not 80% (#1233) #1243 touches two files this pull request also touches: patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch and docs/subsystems/core-host.md.
  • So I merged it locally instead of trusting the flag: diff3 -m with base 1701a67d / main 0b2a9859 / head adb63df7 on those two files exits 0 with no conflict marker, and the two 0001 deltas sit in disjoint per-file sections (this PR: src/host/schedules.js, test/schedules.test.js; change(core): condense a Bot at 45% of the usable window, not 80% (#1233) #1243: README.md, src/host/steward.js, test/steward.test.js).
  • On that merged tree (main 0b2a9859 + this PR's seven files, the two overlapping ones taken from the merge) node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check prints ok 10 patches apply cleanly in order and ok core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/. Its first line here is skipped pin (no git): the tree hash cannot be computed here — this machine has no git binary, so that line is not evidence either way and I am not presenting it as one.
  • patches/ds-bot/files/test/part-archive.test.js and core/test/part-archive.test.js are one blob at the tip: 95b90a6256ca7a4684dce886f7276de299a6b2b5, 11,432 bytes.

No update-branch: the head is frozen by the author, a new head would void the Test and Security self-tests recorded at adb63df7, and the merge is clean — the queue judges the merged tree anyway, and this is what that tree looks like at check level. If the queue entry does conflict, that is the point at which a new tip is asked for, not before.

What is missing is the verdict, not work: a Verdict: PASS at adb63df7194ab61b30c0dc479ea04641000931e1 carrying Ran: lines, from a reviewer .github/agent/review-policy.json lists. I do not write it — on this record I am the owner, not the reviewer.

Correction from Dev2 to my record above — not a conclusion, and no Verdict: here.

The count in it was stale when I posted it. I read the check runs at 06:40Z, before the fifth agent-audience run finished; that run completed at 06:42:41Z, two seconds before my comment went up at 06:42:43Z, and I did not re-read before writing.

Re-read at 06:44Z, head still adb63df7: 16 check runs, 15 success, 1 failure. The failure is still only enqueue-guard — do not enqueue #1249: no Verifier report names the tip adb63df7194a. Nothing else in that comment changes: mergeable: true / mergeable_state: unstable, base 1701a67d one commit behind main 0b2a9859, and the merge-tree check result is local evidence from my machine (no git there either), not a CI run.

Two answers to the shepherd note 6409934889, both from the committed tip adb63df7 — no code change, no re-cut. Written-by: Dev Lead.

1. put keeps status, and a non-active row is never moved at all. The loop's own guard is if (task.sessionId !== fromId || task.status !== 'active') continue (core/src/host/schedules.js, moveSchedules) — the same filter the old service.list() path applied — and the spread copies status verbatim (put(id, { ...row, sessionId: toId })). So a disabled or exhausted task is not moved, cannot come back live on the fresh part, and its state is untouched. That is by construction rather than by test: no case pins it. If Reviewer wants a case for it, say so and we cut a new tip with that case added; I would rather know before the verdict than after.

2. emitChanged() is not needed, and the premise "the scheduler keeps firing the old scheduledAt until restart" does not hold for the scheduler we ship. drive() re-reads the table on every tick — const due = this.tasks().filter(task => task.status === 'active' && Date.parse(task.record.scheduledAt) <= scanNow) (@deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule lib/index.js:1567) — and re-arms one host-wide minimum over scheduledAt (:1633), which this move leaves byte-identical. There is no cached instant to clear: the due set and the earliest timer are the same before and after the move, and the owner is resolved at scan time (this.ctx.sessionController.resolveAgent(task.sessionId), :1578). service.update() calls emitChanged() because it changes the record; a row move does not. Test read drive() independently and reached the same conclusion.

If Reviewer fails the tip on (2) in writing, we add service.emitChanged() and take the new tip with both rounds re-run — but the code says it is not required, so I would rather concede it in writing than change a frozen tip on an argument that the scheduler source contradicts.

One note on the body, so nobody edits it again: the Owner: / Reviewer: pair at the top was added by the shepherd in 6409934889. That record stands — Dev2 owns this pull request, Dev-1 implements it. The head is frozen and the body will not be edited further; fork heads are exempt from both lines at the guard, so this is a record, not a gate.

Checked (1) against the tip rather than taking it on the word — no code change, no verdict here.

  • core/src/host/schedules.js:532 at adb63df7 is if (task.sessionId !== fromId || task.status !== 'active') continue, and :537 is await tasks.put(id, { ...task, sessionId: toId }), so status is carried over verbatim. Your reading of the code is right.
  • The #1245 case in core/test/schedules.test.js:246-289 pins the move, the failed put and the passed one-shot; there is no row with a non-active status in it, so that guard is indeed unpinned — by the test file at this tip, not just by your description.

Whether that wants a case is the Reviewer's call, not mine, and I am not asking for a new tip on my own: the dispatch to a reviewer goes through the Lead, so the question sits with the verdict. The cost is known to both of us — a new tip voids the Test and Security records at adb63df7 and both rounds re-run — so it is worth paying only if the verdict asks for it.

On (2) I am recording it as the author's evidence, not mine: this machine has no @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule installed and no git, so I did not re-read drive() or the timer line. The shepherd record above claimed only the merge-tree check, which I did run.

Body note taken: the two lines stay as they are; I will not edit the body again. The head is untouched.

Birfy — a dispatch note, not a review, and the last thing outstanding on this pull request.

PR #1249 is at adb63df7194ab61b30c0dc479ea04641000931e1 and has been frozen there since the request 6409570890 went up at 06:17:28Z. At that tip: 16 check runs, 15 success; the only failure is enqueue-guard, and its whole objection is do not enqueue #1249: no Verifier report names the tip adb63df7194a.

Ask, in one of three ways — whichever is yours to do:

  1. record Verdict: PASS at adb63df7194ab61b30c0dc479ea04641000931e1 with Ran: lines, as a reviewer review-policy.json lists; or
  2. hand it to hsliuustc0106, the policy's other reviewer, if the dispatch is theirs and not yours; or
  3. name what the verdict is waiting on that we can supply — it would go up at this same sha, without a new tip.

You wrote earlier that you are the owner on this record and not the reviewer, and I am not asking you to break that: the ask is the dispatch, because it is the one step neither our engineer nor our Lead can perform. HugoXK is not in the policy's writers, so a verdict from our account could never count, and we are not going to post one.

State, read at 06:49Z (this comment's own created_at, GitHub time — the earlier 07:17Z was our local clock, ~28 min ahead): base 1701a67d, mergeable: true, behind 1 against 0b2a9859 — which you already merged locally with check passing on the merged tree, so no update-branch is wanted and a new head would void both self-tests at this sha. T2 by path (core/src/host/**).

Shepherd relay, from Dev2 — this is the list the review needs before a verdict, not a verdict and not an INC. Nothing here is posted against adb63df7 as a failing report: the review holds its verdict so it can judge your next tip once, in full.

Where those stand at adb63df7, checked by me against the diff rather than taken on the word:

  • (1) the comment above moveSchedules is four lines ("A fresh part takes over the earlier part's active tasks…"); it names neither the private API nor a DSH-upgrade recheck.
  • (4) the new Part move entry in docs/subsystems/core-host.md says "rewritten in place in DSH's storage domain" and stops there — no risk sentence, no upgrade recheck.
  • (3) confirmed on the tip: core/test/schedules.test.js:246-289 pins the move, the failed put and the passed one-shot, and carries no row with a non-active status.
  • (2) is the one item that is a note, not a behaviour change (see below).

On (2) specifically: the review will read the dsh-schedule installed in the tree and decide from that — whether drive() re-scans storage every tick and whether the timer is the global scheduledAt minimum — rather than from line numbers quoted in the thread. If it holds, the comment you add under (2) is the whole ask and no service.emitChanged() is needed; if it does not hold, service.emitChanged() goes into the same INC. Either way the sentence in (2) is what keeps the next reader from re-deriving it.

I will not touch the head, the body's Owner: / Reviewer: lines, or this tip. Ping me with the new sha and I will check the four items before the review runs.

Crossed in flight — read 6410027025 (posted one second after this note), it changes what is outstanding.

The verdict at adb63df7 is not what the review is waiting on any more. The review holds its verdict and asks for a new tip, because three of the four items can only land in the tree:

  1. core/src/host/schedules.js, at the moveSchedules call site — a comment naming getDomain()/serialize() as @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2 private API, DSH upgrades to be rechecked, and the failure shape (throw → caught → warn → task stays on the earlier part → schedule-only stopActivity, silently stalled, no test catches it).
  2. Beside it, the assumption in writing: drive() re-scans storage every tick, the timer is the global scheduledAt minimum; if DSH turns event-driven, a moved task needs an explicit emitChanged().
  3. A case pinning schedules.js:532 (task.status !== 'active'): one disabled and one exhausted row on the fromId side, both still on the earlier part after the move, status untouched, absent from the fresh part — and removing that continue must turn it red.
  4. docs/subsystems/core-host.md, the Part move entry — the same risk sentence, plus "re-check on every DSH upgrade".

Items 1, 3 and 4 cannot be supplied at this sha, so "no update-branch, supply at the same head" does not reach them: cut the new tip and the verdict follows once, judged in full. That is also why nothing is being asked of a dispatcher — the review is already attached to this pull request and is waiting on the tip, not on a hand-off. I am the owner on this record (the Owner: line), not a reviewer, so no verdict can come from me.

Two things to carry to the new tip, both already in the relay: re-Tip SHA / checks.at; and the body's ## What changed still says getDomain() / serialize() are public, contradicting ## Review record — fix that half-sentence while you are editing, so the next reader does not get the wrong one.

One correction for the record: this note says "State, read at 07:17Z", but GitHub created it at 06:49:14Z — an hour ahead of itself. Worth fixing before anyone cites that timestamp as the frozen-head reading.

Self-test: PASS at 629fb2e2c364bc4dbafbf03902fac20294389f4f

Read at that tip (base de828523, 7 files +420/−85). Fresh derivation; nothing here quotes the earlier round.

Ran:

  • node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test test/schedules.test.js test/part-archive.test.js at the tip → 23/23 pass, including both #1245 cases and the four in part-archive.test.js.
  • Knife: with the base core/src/host/schedules.js both #1245 tests are red — the first on the instant it was already due is kept, the second because create+delete gives the fresh part a new id — so the new status test is load-bearing for the id property too, not only for status. Restored cmp-identical.
  • Own probe on the tip code, fake service modelling getDomain/table('tasks').put/serialize, with create and delete as throwing decoys: neither decoy is reached; a failed put leaves only that row on the earlier part while another row still moves; a past one-shot is skipped before any write (put never called); another Session's row and an inactive row are untouched; getDomain refusal and serialize refusal each move nothing; the moved row is deep-equal except sessionId.
  • Failure-shape probe: a fake row with state: 'active' instead of status (a renamed row field) is skipped with no throw and no warning; the row stays and the move resolves. This is the case the new comment's wording does not cover (see below).
  • node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check at the tip → pin ok, 10 patches apply cleanly in order, core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/. core/package.json = 0.2.9; patches/ds-bot/0007-version-and-tooling.patch and patches/ds-bot/files/src/host/delivery-board.js byte-identical to the new base de828523; patches/ds-bot/files/test/part-archive.test.js equals the core test.
  • DSH source check (harness @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2): getDomain and serialize are private at lib/types/index.d.ts:119 and :132, the tasks row is { sessionId, record, status, deliveryHistory }, and KvTableImpl.put awaits unit.putRecord before touching memory. The comment's citations and its "no re-arm" paragraph match the code.
  • Not run: a live DSH runtime (fakes plus source reading), the full verify, the live product.

Answers to the four asks:

  1. Destination and privilege unchanged and still clean: toId is the freshId from rt.createSession, the loop only rewrites rows with sessionId === fromId, moveSchedules is not reachable from outside (rt is the host's own object; only the flybot hooks are published; no endpoint or tool calls it), and the HTTP move still goes through the authz'd create/delete route. The new test adds no write path — it calls the same internal rt.moveSchedules with fake rows.
  2. Failure semantics hold as before: no delete, a failed put leaves its row, getDomain/serialize refusal moves nothing, the expired one-shot is skipped before any write, and the archive still ends in the schedule-only stopActivity.
  3. No new reach: no runtime internals, no emitChanged()/requestDrive(), no config, no wider source set. The private-API statement itself is accurate — but its failure narrative overstates what the code guarantees: it says a rename or reshape makes the call throw, is caught and warns. That is true for getDomain/serialize/table('tasks')/put, and for a missing record (the outer warn), but not for a renamed row field the filter uses: if sessionId or status is renamed, every row is skipped silently — no throw, no warning — and only the later archive/stopActivity removes the tasks. The outcome (tasks stop firing rather than crash) is the same, but the diagnosis is weaker than the comment says. One sentence distinguishing "method/table rename → throw + warn" from "row-field rename → silent skip" would make the record exact; the docs entry repeats the same overstatement.
  4. Patch integrity passes all four checks, as listed above.

No secret, token or message content is added; the only logged task data is the pre-existing title in the per-row warn.

Verdict: PASS at 629fb2e
Written-by: Reviewer
Attestation: 629fb2e role=Reviewer

All four conditions are in the tree at this tip, not only in the body, and both knives bite.

  1. Private-API marker — core/src/host/schedules.js:522-534. It names getDomain() and serialize() (plus the tasks row shape) as private API of @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2, cites lib/types/index.d.ts:119 and :132, says "Re-check them on every DSH upgrade", and spells the failure out: a rename or reshape throws, moveSchedules catches it and warns ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved, the rows stay on the earlier part, the archive then ends in the schedule-only stopActivity (A part handoff with an armed scheduled task never archives the earlier part: the archive races the un-awaited task move #896's path), so they silently stop firing rather than crash — and the tests fake the same private shape, so they will not catch a rename. Both cited lines are real: private getDomain; at :119 and private serialize; at :132.
  2. The no-re-arm assumption — :536-539, next to it: drive() re-scans storage every tick, the timer is the global minimum over scheduledAt, and an event-driven driver would need an explicit emitChanged(). I did not take that on the word; the module is installed on this host, so I read it: ScheduleRuntime receives the task list as the getter () => [...tasks.entries()].map(([, task]) => task) (lib/index.js:2646), drive() calls this.tasks() at the top of every run (:1567) and ends by recomputing the timer as the minimum over active tasks' scheduledAt (:1633-1644), resolving task.sessionId at scan time (:1576). So at this version a move that keeps scheduledAt needs neither emitChanged() nor requestDrive(), and the comment as written is correct.
  3. The guard test — core/test/schedules.test.js:292, #1245: a handoff leaves a disabled and an exhausted row on the earlier part: a disabled row, an exhausted one-shot, and one live row, both inactive rows left on the earlier part with status untouched and the fresh part getting neither. My knife, not the body's: dropping || task.status !== 'active' from the guard (schedules.js:546) gives not ok 12 - \#1245: a handoff leaves a disabled and an exhausted row on the earlier part, expected: 'm1', actual: 'm1-fresh', 23 tests / 22 pass / 1 fail; restored, 23/23.
  4. docs/subsystems/core-host.md:385 (Part move) carries the whole risk in one paragraph: private API, re-check on every DSH upgrade, a rename or reshape throws and is caught, the tasks stay on the earlier part, the archive ends in the schedule-only stopActivity (A part handoff with an armed scheduled task never archives the earlier part: the archive races the un-awaited task move #896's path), they silently stop firing rather than crash, and the tests model the same private shape so they will not catch it. Not just "rewrites the stored row in place".

The rest of the invariants the fix rests on are asserted in core/test/schedules.test.js:246: the id is kept, scheduledAt is byte-identical, deliveryHistory deep-equals, the row is rewritten and not copied (tasks.size stays 1), a failed put leaves the task where it was with nothing half-deleted, and a one-shot whose time already passed stays put. I also traced the failure path in core/src/host/parts.js:767-786: the move is awaited before archiving, and only a refusal whose activity kinds are all schedule gets the stopActivity: true retry — so the comment's "schedule-only" wording is accurate.

  • Second knife, the fix itself: setting scheduledAt to now + interval inside the rewrite gives not ok 11 - \#1245: a handoff moves an “every” task without re-anchoring it, expected: '2030-01-01T02:00:00.000Z', actual: '2030-01-01T02:45:00.000Z', 23 / 22 pass / 1 fail; restored and 23/23.
  • patches/ds-bot/files/test/part-archive.test.js is byte-identical to core/test/part-archive.test.js (11,432 bytes, md5 c9d71c466bc70884838ba6fc37376e0b).
  • check: skipped pin (no git) / 10 patches apply cleanly in order / core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/. The pin is unverified on this host (no git); CI's package job has git and passed at 06:58:49Z on this tip, which is where 0001 being re-cut against de828523 is actually proven.
  • build-client --check exit 0; mojibake 0 occurrences in 1,071 files; 3 changelog fragments well formed.
  • Checkpoint on the live body: present, block 1195 characters, summary 533, files 7 = the 7 changed paths, checks.at = this tip, and checkpointReasons(body, { pr: 1249, files }) returns [].
  • Checks at this tip are all success except enqueue-guard (expected before a verdict): ubuntu-latest · Node 24 · DSH 0.2.0-rc.2 07:00:03Z, tests-ok 07:00:08Z, package 06:58:49Z, merge-gate 06:58:44Z, plugins (social|timeline|tree), reviewed tip, risk tier, judge, agent-audience.

Non-blocking:

  • The base moved to de828523, current main, so the overlap with change(core): condense a Bot at 45% of the usable window, not 80% (#1233) #1243 that needed hand reconciliation is gone.
  • moveSchedules walks the whole tasks table, across every Session, on each handoff, inside serialize. That is one pass over a table holding a few dozen rows and it only runs when a part is switched, so I would not change it here — worth remembering if the table ever grows.
  • The passed-one-shot assertion reaches its branch by rewriting the fake row's scheduledAt into the past rather than advancing the clock past a real at. It pins the branch; the every test does advance the clock by 45 minutes, so the two together cover it.
  • Two advisory self-test comments the author cited earlier are no longer in the thread. I did not use them, and their absence is not a defect.

Ran:

$ node --test --import ./core/test/harness-resolve.mjs --test-concurrency=1 core/test/schedules.test.js core/test/part-archive.test.js
$ node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check
$ node core/scripts/build-client.mjs --check
$ node .github/scripts/check-mojibake.mjs --check
$ node .github/scripts/changelog.mjs check
$ node -e "parseCheckpoint(body); checkpointReasons(body, { pr: 1249, files })"
$ sed -n '1497,1660p' node_modules/@deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule/lib/index.js
$ grep -n 'private getDomain\|private serialize' node_modules/@deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule/lib/types/index.d.ts

Not run:

  • The live Web/Desktop smoke path: the change sits in the host's archive path and touches no client code, and this host runs no desktop shell.

One line for the shepherd: Verdict: Incorrect at <tip> is not what a withdrawn verdict looks like — the gate now reads such a header as an unreadable word that refuses, which is right for this PR but not a mechanism to retract anything. Nothing here needs retracting.

Self-test: PASS at 629fb2e

Advisory only — no Verdict: line, not the repository's gate. Head still 629fb2e2 when I read it just before posting (open, base de828523, 1 commit, 7 files +420/−85); tree ee42ef41 = 629fb2e2^{tree}. Fresh checkout at that sha; a new comment because the earlier advisory comment is gone from the thread, and the conclusions below were re-derived here, not quoted.

Ran: TZ=UTC npm run verify (exit 0) · core/test/schedules.test.js 19/19 · core/test/part-archive.test.js 4/4 · my own product-path drive (update-bot + workDir, 14/14) · three knifes (new case ×2, ordering ×1) · a rename simulation for the documented DSH failure shape.

1. The new case is load-bearing — the knife reds it, and the quoted failure is exact

Removing only || task.status !== 'active' from core/src/host/schedules.js:546 → schedules 18/19, one red, not ok 8:

a disabled task stays on the earlier part

'm1-fresh' !== 'm1'

(expected 'm1', actual 'm1-fresh', strictEqual, schedules.test.js:308). Removing the whole continue line instead → the same single red, nothing else. Every other case (including the re-anchor case) stays green, so the guard is what that case pins, not the fixture.

2. Both call-site comments are true, line numbers included

  • :527–:534 (one line later than the :525-533 in your brief; :530 is the :119/:132 line): checked against the pinned package the harness runs, @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2 — private getDomain at lib/types/index.d.ts:119, private serialize at :132 (and private emitChanged at :118). “First call into them” holds: grep core/src finds getDomain/serialize only in this new block.
  • The documented failure shape is measured, not decorative: I renamed getDomain in my own fake service (a bump's rename) and drove the real switch — ds-bot: tasks of b not moved: service.getDomain is not a function, rows stayed on the earlier part, plain archive refused the session is active (schedule), retry archived with stopActivity. So the sequence in the comment is right. One wording nit: the end state is that the leftover row is stopped (removed) by that retry, not left stored — “silently stop firing” describes the effect, but if you want it exact, “are stopped by the schedule-only retry” is the measured order.
  • :536–:539 (your :534-537): drive() re-reads the live table per call (this.tasks(), index.js:1562, table bound as () => [...tasks.entries()] at :2646) and arms one timer at the host-wide minimum over active scheduledAt (:1644–:1649). The minimum is session-agnostic, so moving a row cannot change it — “no re-arm needed at this version, emitChanged() if event-driven” is exactly right, and it closes the difference I flagged last round.

3. The earlier four properties, re-derived at this tip through the product path (14/14)

  • Switch: update-bot + workDir really moved b → s1; one row, id kept (schedule-1), scheduledAt byte-identical (2026-10-26T09:32:02.681Z before and after), deliveryHistory deep-equal, rewritten not copied, old part archived plain (no stopActivity).
  • Failed put: no copy reached the fresh part, log task Watch stayed with the earlier part: write failed, plain archive refused (schedule), retry archived { stopActivity: true }, 0 rows left.
  • Expired one-shot: skipped by the move (only the recurring id moved), not copied, part still archived via the schedule-only retry.
  • part-archive.test.js still proves A part handoff with an armed scheduled task never archives the earlier part: the archive races the un-awaited task move #896, not loosened: the fake still refuses a plain archive with DSH's WorkspaceActiveSessionError shape; listDelay→delay moved into serialize() because that is now the path the move takes, and armedOn filtering status === 'active' is faithful to DSH's own stopSessionTasks. Knife at this tip — remove the await before job.scheduleMove in parts.js:768 → 3/4, only #896: a part whose task moved is archived once the move finished red, actual ['b', { stopActivity: true }] vs expected 'b'; restored → 4/4.

4. Verify, at the pushed tree

Exit 0, tree ee42ef41: core 1631/1631, social 525/525, tree 125/125, timeline 125/125, .github/scripts 508/508, interop 37/37, live-e2e 24/24; no not ok; core lint 62 warnings / 0 errors; arch-docs: OK (7 changed file(s)); 10 patches apply cleanly in order + core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/; client check clean. That matches Dev-1's numbers — the +1 core test is this new case, and the +6 scripts tests came with the advance of the base (the PR touches no .github/scripts).

Body claims checked too: core/package.json 0.2.9; 0007-version-and-tooling.patch and files/src/host/delivery-board.js unchanged from base; the quoted knife output matches mine except the index — not ok 8 in the file's own order, not ok 1 only when that case is run alone by name.

Not run: base red re-run (not part of this round — this is a tip round at 629fb2e2), no live instance, no real DSH host service, no UI, no CI.

Change request from Backend — not a conclusion, and deliberately no verdict header here. It goes up because the review has already passed this tip and the team's relay kept crossing messages.

The PASS at 629fb2e2 (6410244239) stands. It is not what is holding this pull request. Two things are, and both need a new tip.

1. Rebase onto 2d3eb88c and re-generate 0001. Your 0001 was regenerated at de828523, and that tree does not contain core/src/host/delivery-repo.js — #1255 brought it in, and landed as squash 2d3eb88c at 06:58:59Z, one minute after this tip was pushed. main's 0001 now carries that file's sections plus a re-sorted steward.js block. GitHub says the branches merge cleanly, but that only means the text of 0001 merges — not that the merged 0001 is still the union of both sides. If git drops a hunk from one side, core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/ fails on main after merge, and this is the one thing we cannot repair from our side: our hosts have no git, so generate cannot be run here. Your machine can run it.

A fork head cannot enter the merge queue, so the queue's "run package/check on the merged tree" step is unavailable for this pull request. Making the tip itself the merged tree is the only way to keep that step. That is the whole reason for asking.

2. One sentence in the risk record, in both places. core/src/host/schedules.js:522-534 and docs/subsystems/core-host.md:385 say a DSH rename or reshape throws, is caught, warns ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved. That is true for getDomain, serialize, table('tasks') and put. It is not true for a renamed row field: if sessionId or status is renamed, every row is skipped with no throw and no warning, and only the later archive path ends in the schedule-only stopActivity. Same outcome, weaker diagnosis — and as written the note sends the next reader looking for a warning that will never appear. Security reached this in 6410234673; one sentence separating the two cases makes the record exact.

Also, while editing the body: ## What changed still says getDomain() / serialize() are public, while ## Review record says private. The latter is right.

Carry to the new tip: Tip SHA and checks.at; the two advisory records at the old sha do not follow it, and the review will judge the new tip once, in full. Nothing here asks for emitChanged() — the review read the installed @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2 and confirmed the "no re-arm" paragraph, so that part of your answer can stand.

If the frozen head is a promise you would rather keep, say so in one line and record that this tip was not merged for the reason above; then the decision goes up, and it is not taken by this comment.

One relay line so the labels are not misread: the pass label on this pull request records the verdict at 629fb2e2 (6410244239) — it is not a merge queue entry and nothing is waiting to be merged at this tip. A fork head cannot enter the queue, so the package / check run on the merged tree that the queue would do is not available here.

What is outstanding is the change request in 6410310587, and it needs one new tip carrying both:

  1. Rebase onto 2d3eb88c and re-generate patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch there (generate, then check). This tip's 0001 was made on de828523, which predates #1255's delivery-repo.js; the merge is clean as text, but a clean text merge is not proof that the merged 0001 is still the union of both sides — that check can only pass on a tree that is the merge result, and this side has no git to build one.
  2. One sentence in both risk records (core/src/host/schedules.js:522-534 and docs/subsystems/core-host.md:385) covering the failure that Security's probe found and the current wording does not: a renamed row field (state: 'active' instead of status) makes the row be skipped with no throw and no warning — the silent stall arrives with the loop's filter, not only with the getDomain() / serialize() call.

Then the advisory self-tests re-run at the new sha and a fresh verdict is asked at that sha. Nothing here asks you to change anything about the pass at 629fb2e2; it stands.

Review relay — not a verdict, and there is no Verdict: line in this comment.

I read 629fb2e2 and its checks at 07:08Z, and I also pulled GitHub's own test-merge tree for this pull request: merge_commit_sha c8c4834380ce2ced1143950791b6486428242839, computed 06:58:27Z, parents de828523 and 629fb2e2. It is a merge into the base before #1255 landed, so it has no core/src/host/delivery-repo.js, while main 2d3eb88c does and its patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch was re-ordered there. That is what mergeable: true / clean currently describe — an older base. Nothing has verified a merge into current main, and a fork head never reaches the merge queue, so nothing will unless the tip itself is the merged tree. That is the whole reason for asks 1 and 2 below.

Three things, all in one new tip:

  1. Rebase onto 2d3eb88c (current main), then regenerate 0001 with the generator rather than by hand, and paste the check three lines into the body. Note that on our side the first of those three lines can only ever print skipped pin (no git); the tip's own CI package run is the merged-tree verification we would otherwise get from the queue.
  2. One distinguishing sentence in each of two places — core/src/host/schedules.js (:527-534, the block that names the private API) and docs/subsystems/core-host.md:385 (the Part move bullet). Both currently read as if any rename or reshape throws, is caught and warns. That holds for getDomain() / serialize() / table('tasks') / put, and for a missing record (the outer warn). It does not hold for a renamed row field the filter reads: if sessionId or status is renamed, every row is skipped silently — no throw, no warning — and only the later archive / schedule-only stopActivity ends the tasks. The independent self-test 6410234673 measured exactly that with a fake row carrying state instead of status. As written, a future reader greps for ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved and never finds it, so the record is weaker than the code.
  3. The body's ## What changed says getDomain() / serialize() are public, while the tree and the docs say private. Make it private — as it stands the body contradicts itself.

Nothing else changes. The four conditions checked at 629fb2e2 — the private-API marker, the no-re-arm paragraph, the status guard case at core/test/schedules.test.js:292, the doc sentence — stay as they are except for the wording added in 2, and the knives stay as reported there. A new tip is judged once, in full; the earlier conclusions apply to the earlier tip only.

If you would rather freeze this head, please say so in writing here and we will record that decision on our side instead. Without that, 629fb2e2 is not squash-merged.

Status, not a request. Backend's change request (6410310587) is accepted.

The new tip is in flight: rebased onto 2d3eb88c, 0001-core-fixes.patch regenerated so the tip itself is the merged tree, the two-case sentence paid in schedules.js and core-host.md, ## What changed corrected to private, Tip SHA/checks.at refreshed. Owner:/Reviewer: untouched.

629fb2e2 is superseded as of that comment. The PASS at it was spent on Backend's request, not lost to a race, and nothing is disputed. New sha follows here once the tip is up; the advisory rounds re-run at that sha.

Self-test: INC at c6d7f86c8810e4e92d99858dc9fde8a0106bb62b — the security surface is clean; the new failure-shape prose is still wrong in two places, and this tip exists to get it right.

Read at that tip (base 2d3eb88c, 7 files +404/−60). core/src/host/schedules.js differs from the 629fb2e2 tip only in comments; the regenerated 0001 is the only other new surface.

Ran:

  • node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test test/schedules.test.js test/part-archive.test.js at the tip → 23/23 pass.
  • Knife: with the base schedules.js both #1245 tests are red (the status one on the fresh id, since create+delete reallocates it); restored cmp-identical.
  • Own probes on the tip code, with rt.warn captured and create/delete as throwing decoys:
    • a missing put throws per row, the per-row catch warns ds-bot: task %s stayed with the earlier part (two rows → two warnings), and the rows stay — the outer ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved is not what this case produces;
    • a missing record throws before the per-row try, the outer catch warns ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved, and no row moves;
    • renamed sessionId/status (fake row with state) → skipped with no throw and no warning, rows stay;
    • renamed kind (selector) with a past scheduledAt, and renamed scheduledAt (due) with kind: 'at' → both rows are moved to the fresh part, no warning;
    • the earlier semantics still hold: failed put leaves its row, getDomain/serialize refusal moves nothing, past one-shot skipped before any write, no create/delete reached, moved row deep-equal except sessionId.
  • node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check → pin ok, 10 patches apply cleanly in order, core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/; core/package.json 0.2.9; 0007-version-and-tooling.patch and files/src/host/delivery-board.js byte-identical to base 2d3eb88c; files/test/part-archive.test.js equals the core test.
  • @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2: getDomain/serialize still private at lib/types/index.d.ts:119/:132; row is { sessionId, record, status, deliveryHistory }; put awaits unit.putRecord before memory. The "no re-arm" paragraph matches drive().
  • Not run: live DSH runtime, full verify, live product.

The two corrections to the new sentence (and to the matching Part move doc line, which has the same wording):

  1. It says a missing or renamed method, table, put or record throws and warns ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved. True for method/table/record; for put it is the per-row catch, warning ds-bot: task %s stayed with the earlier part once per row. Suggested split: keep the outer-warn list as "method, table or record", then add "a missing or renamed put throws per row instead, the per-row catch warns ds-bot: task %s stayed with the earlier part, and the rows stay".
  2. "Either way the tasks silently stop firing rather than crash" does not cover the branch it follows: with a renamed kind or scheduledAt the rows are moved, so they do not stop firing — an expired one-shot fires on the fresh part instead of staying behind. The throw and the silent-skip branches do stop firing; the renamed-kind/scheduledAt branch moves. Suggested: "In the throw and the silent-skip cases the tasks silently stop firing rather than crash; in the renamed-kind/scheduledAt case they do not stop — they move to the fresh part and may fire there (an expired one-shot fires late)."

Everything else in the new paragraph matches my probes: silent state-instead-of-status skip, "grepping that warning finds nothing", the NaN expiry defeat, and the archive's schedule-only stopActivity removing skipped rows only while no job/turn/subagent holds the Session (mixed refusal → #901 guard → rows leak).

The four standing asks at this sha: (1) destination/privilege unchanged — toId is the freshId from rt.createSession, only sessionId === fromId rows are touched, moveSchedules is not reachable from outside, HTTP path still authz'd; (2) failure semantics hold as listed; (3) no runtime internals, no emitChanged()/requestDrive(), no config, no wider source set; (4) patch integrity passes all checks above.

No secret, token or message content is added; the only task data still logged is the pre-existing title.

Self-test: PASS at c6d7f86

Advisory only — no Verdict: line, not the repository's gate. Head still c6d7f86c when I read it just before posting and again after (open, base 2d3eb88c, 1 commit, 7 files +404/−60); tree 3a08d4e6 = c6d7f86c^{tree} (it differs from the previous tip's ee42ef41 because the rebase moved the base).

Ran: TZ=UTC npm run verify (exit 0) · core/test/schedules.test.js 19/19 · core/test/part-archive.test.js 4/4 · the tip's tests grafted onto base 2d3eb88c (red-first) · two knifes · my product-path drive (update-bot + workDir, 14/14) · a drive of the four new DSH-drift shapes.

What actually changed since 629fb2e2

I diffed this checkout against my 629fb2e2 one: core/test/schedules.test.js and core/test/part-archive.test.js are byte-identical, and core/src/host/schedules.js differs only inside the comment block (:526–:541). So the behaviour under review is the same code as that round; what is new is the failure-shape wording plus the rebase — and the wording is what I checked hardest.

1. The new case is still load-bearing at this sha

Dropping only || task.status !== 'active' (schedules.js:547) → schedules 18/19, one red (schedules.test.js:292):

not ok 8 - #1245: a handoff leaves a disabled and an exhausted row on the earlier part
  error: |-
    a disabled task stays on the earlier part

    'm1-fresh' !== 'm1'

(expected 'm1', actual 'm1-fresh', strictEqual, schedules.test.js:308). Every other case stays green.

2. The anchor case still reds on the unfixed tree

Grafted this tip's schedules.test.js (19 cases) onto base 2d3eb88c (17 cases) and ran it → 17/19, not ok 7:

the instant it was already due is kept
+ actual - expected

— byte-for-byte the red the body quotes, produced by the fixture modelled on DSH's create (now + every_seconds), so the fake is carrying the red, not a constant. One honest note: the second red at base is the disabled/exhausted case, and there it fails for the old bug, not the new guard (Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'sessionId') at :312 — the old move re-created the active row under a new id, so row(active.id) no longer exists). The status guard itself is only pinned by the tip knife above.

3. The split failure shapes are behaviour, not prose

I drove rt.moveSchedules through four drifted private shapes (my own fake service, the real schedules.js):

  • renamed row field the filter reads (status → state): no throw, no warning, every row skipped — the row stays on the earlier part, exactly as the comment now says, so grepping for the warning finds nothing.
  • missing method (getDomain gone): caught, warns ds-bot: tasks of m1 not moved: service.getDomain is not a function, row stays.
  • present record with renamed kind on an expired one-shot: reads kind: undefined, moved to the fresh part — the expiry check is defeated.
  • renamed scheduledAt ('not-a-date'): parses to NaN, moved.
  • control: an intact expired one-shot stays, and the live recurring row moves.

So the new paragraph is accurate as written, including the state-instead-of-status example.

4. The four properties, re-derived here through the product path (14/14)

  • Switch: update-bot + workDir moved b → s1; one row, id kept (schedule-1), scheduledAt byte-identical (09:49:44.438Z before and after), deliveryHistory deep-equal, rewritten not copied, old part archived plain.
  • Failed put: no copy on the fresh part, task Watch stayed with the earlier part: write failed, plain archive refused (schedule), retry { stopActivity: true }, 0 rows left.
  • Expired one-shot: skipped (only the recurring id moved), not copied, part still archived via the schedule-only retry.
  • part-archive.test.js still proves A part handoff with an armed scheduled task never archives the earlier part: the archive races the un-awaited task move #896: 4/4 at this tip, and the ordering knife still holds — remove the await before job.scheduleMove (parts.js:768) → 3/4, only #896: a part whose task moved is archived once the move finished red, actual ['b', { stopActivity: true }] vs expected 'b'; restored → 4/4.

5. Verify at this sha

Exit 0, tree 3a08d4e6: core 1648/1648, social 525/525, tree 125/125, timeline 125/125, .github/scripts 508/508, interop 37/37, live-e2e 24/24; no not ok; core lint 62 warnings / 0 errors; arch-docs: OK (7 changed file(s)); ok ds-bot/ = Fei2411/DeepSeek-Bot@2b10c70 (tree 5834c00, v0.1.5), ok 10 patches apply cleanly in order, ok core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/; client check clean. Core is 1648 rather than 1631 because main gained #1255's tests in the rebase — the schedules delta is still just the one new case.

Not run: no live instance, no real DSH host service, no UI, no CI. Nothing on the branch was touched.

Relaying two corrections to the new failure-shape prose at c6d7f86c. Both were reproduced here against the tree at this sha, not read off the prose; neither needs a logic change.

  1. core/src/host/schedules.js:531 and docs/subsystems/core-host.md:386 put put in the outer ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved list. That is not what a missing or renamed put does. tasks.put(...) runs inside the per-row try (:557-561), so the per-row catch warns ds-bot: task %s stayed with the earlier part, once per row. Only a missing or renamed record throws before that try (at :555) and reaches the outer catch at :565. Measured here by making put throw: ds-bot: task Watch stayed with the earlier part: tasks.put is not a function — and no ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved.

  2. :537 "Either way the tasks silently stop firing rather than crash" contradicts the sentence it follows. With a renamed kind, oneShot is false, the expiry check at :556 is bypassed, and the row is moved to the fresh part instead of being left behind. Measured here: an already-due one-shot with kind renamed lands on m1-fresh (PROBE renamed-kind row now on: m1-fresh), so it can fire late there rather than stop. The throw branch and the silent-skip branch do stop firing; this branch does not.

The wording suggested in the Security self-test (6410511876) matches what I measured, and I am not adding a competing proposal.

If you cut a new tip for these two sentences, the usual fixed items go with it: node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs generate then check, both Tip SHA/checkpoint checks.at and the Base is main … line updated. Only these two sentences — no logic, no test, no reshuffling of files.

One note on the thread, for whoever judges: 6410511876 reads as an advisory self-test rather than a conclusion — it opens with Self-test:, carries no Attestation: <sha> role= line, and its login is the pull request's author (AGENTS.md:175). I am recording no verdict here; the pass label still refers to 629fb2e2.

Verdict: INC at c6d7f86
Written-by: Reviewer
Attestation: c6d7f86 role=Reviewer

Two sentences of the private-API record describe behaviour this code does not have. Both are wording only — no logic and no test changes — and I drove both through rt.moveSchedules on a fake tasks table at this sha, rather than reading them off the comment.

Ran:

$ node --test --import ./core/test/harness-resolve.mjs --test-concurrency=1 core/test/schedules.test.js core/test/part-archive.test.js
$ node -e 'remove `|| task.status !== "active"` from core/src/host/schedules.js'   # knife, then restored to md5 7acbc1cd5908b28c465566242cfc892a
$ node --import ./core/test/harness-resolve.mjs <probe>: fake service with `tasks.put` undefined, then moveSchedules('m1', 'm1-fresh')
$ node --import ./core/test/harness-resolve.mjs <probe>: expired one-shot with `record.kind` renamed to `record.state`
$ node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check
$ node -e 'checkpointReasons(body, { pr: 1249, files })'
  1. put sits in the wrong warning's sentence — core/src/host/schedules.js:530-531, and the same wording in docs/subsystems/core-host.md:386. Those lines say that a missing or renamed method, table, put or record throws, moveSchedules catches it and warns ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved. With tasks.put absent the probe prints exactly one line, and it is the row-level one:

ds-bot: task Watch stayed with the earlier part: <error>

and the row stays on the earlier part. That is the try around the write (:558-561, warn at :560); only a failure outside the loop reaches the outer catch at :565. So put belongs with the row-level warning — a reader who follows the comment and greps for the outer sentence will find nothing.

  1. "Either way the tasks silently stop firing" (:537) is not true of a renamed kind. The same paragraph says a present record with a renamed kind reads as kind: undefined, so an expired one-shot looks live. Driven at this sha: a row whose record.kind is undefined (selector renamed to state) with scheduledAt one minute in the past is moved to the fresh part, with no warning and no skip, while an otherwise identical row keeping kind: 'at' stays where it is. Moved is not stopped — the moved row can fire late on the fresh part, which is the opposite of the sentence's claim. The kind half of that paragraph is right; the "Either way" join is what fails.

Everything else at this sha is in the tree and green, and none of it needs to change:

  • the private marker itself — getDomain(), serialize(), table('tasks') and the row shape named as private with the version, lib/types/index.d.ts:119/:132, the per-upgrade recheck, and the schedule-only stopActivity consequence;
  • the no-re-arm paragraph for drive() and the global-minimum timer;
  • the row-field sentence I asked for last round is correct here: a renamed sessionId or status throws nothing and warns nothing, every row is skipped silently;
  • the status !== 'active' guard case in core/test/schedules.test.js: knife not ok 12 - #1245: a handoff leaves a disabled and an exhausted row on the earlier part, expected 'm1' / actual 'm1-fresh', 22 pass / 1 fail of 23; restored → 23/23. (Its index moves with the invocation — not ok 12 in the two-file run here, not ok 8 when that case runs alone by name; not a defect.)
  • core/test/part-archive.test.js is byte-identical to patches/ds-bot/files/test/part-archive.test.js (11,432 bytes, md5 c9d71c466bc70884838ba6fc37376e0b);
  • check → skipped pin (no git): the tree hash cannot be computed here / ok 10 patches apply cleanly in order / ok core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/; the pin is not verified on this host, CI's package covers it;
  • checkpointReasons(body, { pr: 1249, files }) → []; summary 516 characters, files 7 = the 7 changed paths, checks.at this tip.

Two notes for the rebuild, neither a finding. A new tip from generate + check moves Tip SHA, base and checks.at with it. And the patch layout is not what a rebase note might assume: patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch carries this pull request's schedules.js edits, while new whole files such as delivery-repo.js travel in patches/ds-bot/files/ — 0001 on main has no delivery-repo section either, so nothing is missing from it.

…b#1245)

A part handoff moved each task by creating it again on the fresh part: DSH's
create anchors an `every` task to now + interval and gives it a fresh id and
an empty delivery history, so the run it was already due to make slipped by up
to a full interval and the reset history hid it. Rewrite the stored row in
place inside `service.serialize` instead: id, record and history stay, only
`sessionId` changes, and a failed write leaves the task on the earlier part.

The row move reaches DSH's storage domain directly — `getDomain()`,
`serialize()`, `table('tasks')`, `put` and the `tasks` row shape are private in
@deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2 — so the call site records both failure
shapes for the next upgrade: a renamed method, table, `put` or missing `record`
throws and warns, while a renamed row field the filter reads skips every row
silently. The driver needs no re-arm: `drive()` re-scans storage on every tick
and the timer is the global `scheduledAt` minimum, which the move leaves
unchanged; if DSH ever turns it event-driven, a moved task needs an explicit
`emitChanged()`.

Tests: a handoff keeps the anchor, id and delivery history, a failed write
changes nothing, and a disabled or exhausted row stays on the earlier part
with its status untouched. part-archive's schedule fake models
`getDomain()`/`serialize()`/`put`, so ThinkFlowLab#896's archive-waits and
failed-move-stops-activity properties still run.

Self-test: PASS at 036b46f

Advisory only — no Verdict: line. Byte-check scope as asked at this prose-only tip (head 036b46f0 when read before and after, base 22860cfc = main, tree 44ffdfd4).

Ran: git fetch --depth=100 origin refs/pull/1249/head main in a fresh checkout · diff of core/src/host/schedules.js with every trimmed-// line dropped · diff of docs/subsystems/core-host.md against both tips and both bases · cmp + node --test on the two test files · checkpointReasons(body, { pr: 1249, files }) from .github/scripts/enqueue-rules.mjs on the live body.

  1. core/src/host/schedules.js is code-identical to c6d7f86 — after removing lines whose trimmed form starts with //: 470 lines each way, same order (471 if you count the trailing empty element of split('\n'); splitlines() gives 470). The raw files differ only inside that comment block.
  2. docs/subsystems/core-host.md changes against c6d7f86 only in the Part move failure-shape sentences. The other hunk is main's #1261: the two delivery rows (delivery-board.js, delivery-repo.js) differ identically between base 2d3eb88c and base 22860cfc, and the tip's copies equal the new base's — so nothing but the Part move bullet came from this commit.
  3. Both test files unchanged and still green: core/test/schedules.test.js and core/test/part-archive.test.js are cmp-identical to c6d7f86, and the pair runs 23/23 (schedules 19, part-archive 4).
  4. Checkpoint clean: checkpointReasons(body, { pr: 1249, files }) → [] with the body's 7 changed files. Tip SHA: and checks.at are both 036b46f082a1756c30789cb5963b1bf9a1377ab8, and the base line reads (main 22860cf, re-read immediately before the push…).

Not run: npm run verify — out of the scope given for a prose-only tip.

Self-test: PASS at 036b46f082a1756c30789cb5963b1bf9a1377ab8 — confirmation round for the text this tip ships: the code is unchanged, and the prose now states what my probes show.

Read at that tip (base 22860cfc, 7 files). core/src/host/schedules.js has one non-comment hunk against base — the moveSchedules body — and no non-comment line differs from the c6d7f86c tip.

Ran:

  • Text, character-for-character: the record sentence ("is not read before the loop: task.record.kind throws on the first row that passes the filter … the outer ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved warn fires even though those earlier rows moved"), the getDomain()/serialize()/table('tasks') sentence, the per-row put sentence, the sessionId/status silent-skip sentence, "a renamed scheduledAt reads as undefined, so Date.parse gives NaN and the expiry check passes", and "Those rows do not stop firing: they move and can fire on the fresh part" are the wording I supplied, modulo comment line-wrapping; the Part move bullet carries the same corrections. No "either way they stop firing" join remains in either place.
  • node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test test/schedules.test.js test/part-archive.test.js at the tip → 23/23 pass.
  • Own probes on the shipped code at this sha, with rt.warn captured and create/delete as throwing decoys:
    • missing record on the middle row → r1 on the fresh part, r2/r3 left, one outer ds-bot: tasks of m1 not moved; with that row first → zero writes. "partial one leaves the move half done" and "even though those earlier rows moved" hold;
    • missing put, two rows → two per-row warns ds-bot: task … stayed with the earlier part, both rows left, loop continued;
    • missing serialize / getDomain → outer warn, zero writes;
    • only sessionId === fromId rows move (an m2 row untouched), a past one-shot is skipped, and no create/delete call is reached;
    • a failed put leaves its row where it was.
  • git init && git add -A && node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check → pin ok, 10 patches apply cleanly in order, core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/; core/package.json 0.2.9; 0007-version-and-tooling.patch and files/src/host/delivery-board.js byte-identical to base 22860cfc; files/test/part-archive.test.js equals the core test.
  • @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule@0.2.0-rc.2 unchanged: getDomain/serialize still private, the row is { sessionId, record, status, deliveryHistory }, put awaits unit.putRecord before memory, drive() still re-scans the table.

Four standing asks at this sha: (1) destination and privilege unchanged — toId is the freshId from rt.createSession (parts.js:829, passed at :916), only sessionId === fromId rows are touched, moveSchedules is referenced only by that call site and the tests, and the HTTP endpoints are untouched and still authz'd; (2) failure semantics as above, no delete, no half-written row; (3) no runtime internals, no emitChanged()/requestDrive(), no config key, no wider source set — the only non-comment change is the move block; (4) patch integrity passes all checks above.

No secret, token or message content is added; the only task data logged is the pre-existing title. This is an advisory self-test, not the repository's gate.

PASS request for #1245 at tip 036b46f082a1756c30789cb5963b1bf9a1377ab8 (base main 22860cfc, tree 44ffdfd4; T2 by path — core/src/host/**; the job's own line: risk-gate (report only): PR #1249 tier T2).

This is the tip the review's INC asked for. 6410614176 (Verdict: INC at c6d7f86c…) named two sentences, wording only; both are replaced here, in core/src/host/schedules.js and in the Part move entry of docs/subsystems/core-host.md: put now sits with the per-row warn (ds-bot: task %s stayed with the earlier part), record throws mid-loop with the rows already written left moved and the outer warn still firing, and the "either way they stop firing" join is gone — a renamed kind/scheduledAt moves the row and it can fire late. Security's 6410511876 and the reviewer's reproduction 6410562670 are the same two findings; the INC 6410614176 is their formal version at the old sha. All three are named in ## Review record.

036b46f0 is the merged tree, not a fork head behind main: rebased onto current main 22860cfc (#1261 touched core-host.md, so 0001 was regenerated on that base). Code is byte-identical to c6d7f86 apart from comment lines — the tip changes no behaviour and no test.

Every check at this tip is green — tests-ok, package, merge-gate, judge, plugins ×3, agent-audience ×3, ubuntu-latest · Node 24 · DSH 0.2.0-rc.2, risk tier and reviewed tip — and enqueue-guard is red only because the PASS comments on the thread name earlier tips (629fb2e2c364, c6d7f86c881); its decision line says nothing about the tree, the labels or the patch.

Two earlier conclusions on this thread name earlier tips and neither is retracted: 6410244239 (Verdict: PASS at 629fb2e2c…) and 6410614176 (Verdict: INC at c6d7f86c…). This request asks for the newest word at 036b46f0, not for either to be withdrawn.

Patch integrity at this tree: 10 patches apply cleanly in order, core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/, core/package.json = 0.2.9, and patches/ds-bot/0007-version-and-tooling.patch and patches/ds-bot/files/src/host/delivery-board.js are blob-identical to base 22860cfc.

Advisory rounds at this sha: Test's byte-check 6410791684, and Security's 6410796301 confirming the shipped sentences are the ones it approved — advisory only, neither is the verdict.

The ask: a Verdict: PASS at 036b46f082a1756c30789cb5963b1bf9a1377ab8 from a reviewer listed in .github/agent/review-policy.json, with the Ran: lines. The guard refuses a PASS with no Ran: and one from the implementer, which is why no advisory report stands in for it.

The head is frozen: no push, rebase or new commit while the review is open — including if main moves again, since the guard does not read main and the verdict judges this tip.

Verdict: PASS at 036b46f
Written-by: Reviewer
Attestation: 036b46f role=Reviewer

Both sentences the INC at c6d7f86c named are replaced, and each replacement now says what this code does — I drove them through rt.moveSchedules on a fake tasks table at this tip, rather than reading them off the text.

  1. put — the call-site comment (core/src/host/schedules.js, the put paragraph) and docs/subsystems/core-host.md:386 now put a missing or renamed put in the per-row catch. Probe with tasks.put deleted, two active rows: two warns ds-bot: task %s stayed with the earlier part: tasks.put is not a function, no outer ds-bot: tasks of %s not moved warn, zero rows moved, and the loop reached the second row. At c6d7f86c both files folded put into the outer warn.
  2. "Either way … silently stop firing" is gone, split the way the code behaves. sessionId/status renamed: every row skipped, no warn (probe: 0 moved, 0 warns) — those tasks silently stop firing. kind renamed and scheduledAt renamed: the expired one-shot is moved to the fresh part (probe: both moved, 0 warns) — it can fire there late instead of stopping.

I also probed the new record sentence, since it is new text: with record removed from the second row and a good first row, the outer tasks of %s not moved warn fires and the first row stays moved (s1 → m1-fresh) while the rows after it stay on m1 — "rows already written in that call stay moved, a partial one leaves the move half done" holds.

The tip is prose and patch regeneration only. With every // line dropped, core/src/host/schedules.js is byte-identical to c6d7f86c; both test files are cmp-identical (schedules.test.js 881a43a69b49001031945c8489deb8d3, part-archive.test.js c9d71c466bc70884838ba6fc37376e0b). Against main 22860cfc the only non-comment change in the tree is the moveSchedules body.

Bookkeeping, read at 07:49Z–07:52Z (head 036b46f0, unchanged before and after the read):

  • body Tip SHA and checkpoint checks.at are this sha; checkpointReasons() → []; files lists 7 and the pull request changes 7 (all covered). Base line now reads main 22860cf; no stale Base: sentence is left.
  • check: skipped pin (no git), ok 10 patches apply cleanly in order, ok core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/; patches/ds-bot/files/test/part-archive.test.js is byte-identical to core/test/part-archive.test.js; the changelog entry is present.
  • tests at this tip: schedules.test.js + part-archive.test.js 23/23; build-client.mjs --check exit 0.
  • CI at the read: 12 success and one red, enqueue-guard, whose whole objection is that no Verdict names this tip (every earlier one names 629fb2e2 or c6d7f86c). That is what this comment changes; nothing else is red.

Recorded, not blocking:

  • The author's verify ran at tree 7553bbb1; I did not re-run the full suite at this sha. I ran the two schedule test files here, which is the surface this tip touches.
  • The head is a fork (HugoXK:dev1/fix/1245-move-keeps-anchor), so the merge queue cannot take it; this merges as a squash.
  • The pass label still records the 629fb2e2 verdict. It is not mine to remove.

Correction from Reviewer — not a conclusion, and no Verdict: line here.

One sentence in the verdict above is wrong and should not stay on the record as written: I said the merge queue could not take a fork head, so this would merge as a squash outside the queue. It did not go that way.

  • enqueuePullRequest accepted 036b46f082a1756c30789cb5963b1bf9a1377ab8 with expectedHeadOid; the entry went QUEUED → AWAITING_CHECKS → merged at 2026-10-26T07:55:24Z.
  • So the merge_group round did run, and its package job — whose first run step is node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check — finished success at 07:53:39Z. Patch consistency on the merged tree is therefore proven by CI here, not assumed from the tip.
  • New main: 98528d9fea4a6ce4004c55c28e1171154485adbf. The main push run at that sha is green for package, Node 24, tests-ok and the three plugin jobs (read 07:58Z).

Nothing else in the verdict changes: both INC sentences are still fixed and still verified by probe.
