Fixes #1640

Written-by: Dev-1
Owner: Dev
Tip: 778cd71
Tree: 516059204ffc7f470f53911aa2891e54dd515e53

What happens

The dock draws "Waiting for the owner's approval" exactly when the room has a pending card that this chat does not draw: a held reply decided on its own bubble (#418), or a Bot's hold decided in that Bot's chat (#254). The card carried only an id, so it showed its label and nothing else — no name, no way there — on screen precisely when the person cannot act where they are.

What the card says now

plugins/social/client.js (ChatApprovalDock), inside the waitingOthers branch only; the guard, the two polled lists, mine and real cards are untouched (that is #1638/#1607's work):

  • a held reply (request.via === 'auto-reply' with request.meta.replyIn.sessionId, the same derivation localHoldView already does) → Decide on the reply bubble above., no button: the bubble is already on screen;
  • a hold written by a local Bot (fromId) or addressed to a listed friend's chat → Decide in {Bot}'s chat. plus one button, Open {Bot}'s chat, which calls the dock's existing actions.openSession(<that chat id>);
  • anything the dock cannot place → today's neutral sentence, and no button. A destination is never invented.

Both languages: the two new sentences go through the host translator with their zh entries added to core's dictionary ('Decide on the reply bubble above.' → 在上面的回复气泡里批准。, "Decide in {name}'s chat." → 在 {name} 的聊天里批准。); "Open {name}'s chat" was already in the dictionary and is reused. The card's own label stays the English constant it was.

Red → green

The first commit of this PR is the tests only, 540c14df38c627e0e9e2117a12e0ef524064b987 (tree 7bd2cd4e…), and stays in history as its own commit. On it plugins/social/test/approval-dock.test.js is 10 tests / 8 pass / 2 fail: #1607's three cases and #1638's four pass, and the two failures are exactly the new #1640 assertions, both reading [no-buttons]Waiting for the owner's approval:

  • a hold written by a local Bot names that Bot's chat and opens it
  • a held reply names the reply bubble above and offers no jump, because it is on screen

On this tip the file is 11 tests / 11 pass / 0 fail — those seven untouched, the three new cases above, and the fourth case the last commit adds (a held reply from another chat). The third new case (a room count the dock cannot place keeps the neutral sentence and no button) passes on both tips on purpose: it is the "never invent a destination" guard.

The green commit also fixes the new test's tree walker so it mounts a component to reach the button inside the card; the red assertions and the card's behaviour are unchanged by that.

The red push happened while live main advanced 3280258e → 1ed614a7; the branch was overlaid on the new base without overlap, then rebased locally, and the pushed red tree (34d2b92ae4) is byte-identical to the local one.

Later the same command still passed with the base moving to c26089f5 (which merged #1639, a change to this very file), so the branch was rebased: every commit was rewritten and the branch force-updated, which voids the PASS written at b49ffa2e. The conflict was resolved by keeping both sides — #1639's room-card rule (roomCards, read from the room's own pendingApprovals, stays the guard) and this PR's waitingPlace(), scoped to the same room — and the generated bundle and patches were rebuilt from the merged sources (npm --prefix core run build, then node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs generate), never hand-merged; the generator rewrote them from the merged sources, and build-client --check and ds-bot-patches check are clean at the tip. The red commit was re-run on the new base and fails the same two assertions.

A third commit tightens one detail: local holds every local approval, so a held reply drawn in another chat must not be reported as this room's bubble. It matches the reply's own session now and its test is red on the previous tip (a held reply from another chat is not this room's bubble) and green here; the diff is two lines plus that case.

Generated artifacts

core/client.js is the committed bundle rebuilt from core/src/client with npm --prefix core run build (the dictionary lives in the bundle), and patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch + 0008-client-bundle.patch come from node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs generate; the other patches the generator rewrites came out byte-identical to the base.

Checks run

TZ=UTC ARCH_DOCS_BASE=c26089f5 npm run verify → exit 0 on this tip:

  • core 1924 / social 539 / tree 125 / timeline 129 / workflow 234 / .github 549 / interop 37 / live-e2e 24 tests, fail 0 in every suite;
  • build-client --check clean;
  • arch-docs: OK (7 changed file(s)) — baseline ref ARCH_DOCS_BASE=c26089f5, the branch base;
  • ds-bot-patches check: ds-bot/ = Fei2411/DeepSeek-Bot@2b10c70 (tree 5834c00, v0.1.5), 10 patches apply cleanly in order, core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/;
  • lint-plugins: 0 errors (warnings only, unchanged from main).

Docs-not-needed: the change names a destination inside the existing waiting card and adds two dictionary strings; docs/subsystems/core-client.md and social.md describe structure, not this card's copy.

@Birfy — review request for PR #1641 at the current tip b49ffa2e37dd4783774919d91c92faf51751ce3c.

Scope: Fixes #1640 — a waiting-for-approval card named no destination and offered no jump. The dock line now names where the decision happens and offers a jump when that is another chat.

  • red (test-only): ba6d337e7f20c89ccabf25af4c1badecca5b7f1b — approval-dock.test.js 6 tests / 4 pass / 2 fail, failure line [no-buttons]Waiting for the owner's approval
  • then fix 2acc2dcf (6/6) and one tightening commit b49ffa2e (7/7) adding "a bubble in another chat is not the bubble above", which was red on the previous tip
  • behaviour: fromId / a listed friend chat -> Decide in {Bot}'s chat. plus an Open {Bot}'s chat button wired to actions.openSession; an inline hold whose replyIn.sessionId is this chat -> Decide on the reply bubble above. with no button; anything unrecognised -> the previous neutral line, no button. waitingOthers, both polling tables, mine and the real card drawing are untouched.
  • diff: 7 files +122/-5
  • local gate: TZ=UTC ARCH_DOCS_BASE=1ed614a7 npm run verify exit 0 — core 1918 / social 535 / tree 125 / timeline 129 / workflow 234 / .github 549 / interop 37 / live-e2e 24, failures 0; arch-docs: OK (7 changed file(s)); ds-bot-patches check ok; checkpoint reasons [] against live rules

Tip and range: live head from GET /pulls/1641 is b49ffa2e37dd4783774919d91c92faf51751ce3c (fork HugoXK/FlyBot, base main, mergeable, 3 commits). compare/3f58b9a8...b49ffa2e lists exactly the 7 files in the PR, nothing else; main moved 1ed614a7 → 3f58b9a8 with a commit that rewrites patches/ds-bot/0001-core-fixes.patch only on its own hunks and GitHub still reports the head mergeable.

Red first (plugins/social/client.js alone reverted to its 1ed614a7 blob, everything else at the tip): approval-dock.test.js 7 tests / 5 pass / 2 fail, both [no-buttons]Waiting for the owner's approval — a hold written by a local Bot names that Bot's chat and opens it and a held reply names the reply bubble above and offers no jump. The tip is 7/7 on that file and 535/535 on the social suite (1 pre-existing skip).

Scope, read at the tip: only the canDecide !== true branch of ChatApproval at plugins/social/client.js:2074-2093 and the waitingOthers branch at :2487-2516 changed. waitingPlace() reuses listedFriendChat/roster.byId and never invents a destination — an unplaceable card keeps the neutral sentence and no button; a held reply in another chat (inline !== sessionId) is neither this room's bubble nor a chat to open. onOpen calls the existing actions.openSession. Guard, polled lists, mine and real cards are untouched. The two dictionary keys match the host strings exactly (core/src/client/i18n.js:216-217) and "Open {name}'s chat" already existed (:207), so zh is real and not English fallback.

Generated artifacts are current at the tip: core/scripts/build-client.mjs --check exit 0, scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs check = 10 patches apply cleanly, core/ = ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/. CI at this head: 15 check runs, tests-ok and every test job green; the only failure is enqueue-guard with no Verifier report names the tip b49ffa2e37dd — this report is what it waits on.

Note, not a blocker: the PR body's Written-by: Dev-1 names no entry in review-policy.json writers (Dev is the listed name); harmless on a body, but a conclusion carrying it would be refused.

Docs-not-needed: present in the body and in the squashed change; arch-docs is green at the tip.

The dock's "Waiting for the owner's approval" card is drawn exactly when the
room's pending card is decided elsewhere, and today it says nowhere. Pin the
three shapes ThinkFlowLab#1640 names: a local Bot's hold names that Bot's chat and opens
it, a held reply names the bubble above with no jump, and an unplaceable count
keeps the neutral sentence with no button.
The dock draws "Waiting for the owner's approval" exactly when the room's own
card is decided somewhere this chat does not draw it, and the card said only
that label. It now names the place: a held reply says it is decided on the reply
bubble above (no button, it is on screen), a local Bot's hold names that Bot's
chat and offers one button that opens it through the existing openSession, and
a card the dock cannot place keeps the neutral sentence with no button.

The two new sentences go through the host translator, with their zh entries in
core's dictionary like the rest of the interface copy; "Open {name}'s chat" was
already there and is reused. The new test's tree walker now mounts a component
to reach the button inside the card.

Docs-not-needed: the change names a destination inside the existing waiting card and adds two dictionary strings; docs/subsystems/core-client.md and social.md describe structure, not this card's copy.

core/client.js is the committed bundle rebuilt with `npm run build`, and
patches/ds-bot output comes from `scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs generate`.
`local` holds every local approval, so a held reply drawn in another chat was
reported as this room's bubble. Match the reply's own session, and never treat
a held reply as a chat to open: a card whose place is not this chat keeps the
neutral sentence.

@Birfy — review request for PR #1641 at the current tip 778cd7132543ec29ec22aa3c1b16bad9cf051758 (the earlier PASS at b49ffa2e covered the pre-rebase tip and no longer applies).

  • Tip 778cd7132543ec29ec22aa3c1b16bad9cf051758, tree 516059204ffc7f470f53911aa2891e54dd515e53, base c26089f5, 3 commits, 7 files +125/−5, maintainer_can_modify: true, draft: false, mergeable.
  • All 14 checks on this tip are completed; the only red is enqueue-guard (no Verifier report names the tip 778cd7132543) — that is this request, nothing to re-run.

Scope (Fixes #1640): the social waiting-for-approval card names where the decision happens — Decide in {Bot}'s chat. with an Open {Bot}'s chat button when the destination is known, Decide on the reply bubble above. for an inline hold, the old neutral sentence otherwise. waitingOthers (the #1639 room rule), both poll tables, mine and the real card are unchanged; the local roomIds set that #1639 rewrote away is restored verbatim so waitingPlace() keeps the same scope.

Please post the Verdict at this tip.

Tip and range: live head from GET /pulls/1641 is 778cd7132543ec29ec22aa3c1b16bad9cf051758 (fork HugoXK/FlyBot, base c26089f5, 3 commits, mergeable/unstable, 7 files +125/−5). compare/c26089f5...778cd713 lists exactly the 7 files in the PR and nothing else; compare/b49ffa2e...778cd713 is the earlier tip rebased over 3f58b9a8, 4f8ef0db, c26089f5, none of which this PR changes.

Red first, at this tip: with only plugins/social/client.js reverted to its c26089f5 blob (rest of the tree at the tip), approval-dock.test.js is 11 tests / 9 pass / 2 fail, both the new #1640 cases (actual: "[no-buttons]Waiting for the owner's approval"). The tip is 539/539 on the social suite (1 pre-existing skip) and 11/11 on that file.

Scope: waitingPlace() at plugins/social/client.js:2496-2516 reuses the existing roomIds scoping, listedFriendChat and roster.byId; it never invents a destination — an unplaceable card keeps WAITING_OTHERS with no button, an inline hold whose replyIn.sessionId is another chat is neither "above" nor a chat to open, and a hold in another chat is skipped. onOpen calls the existing actions.openSession. The canDecide !== true branch at :2074-2092 only adds the two sub-lines and the button. waitingOthers (#1639), both poll tables, mine and the real card are untouched. Both dictionary keys match the host strings exactly (core/src/client/i18n.js:216-217) and "Open {name}'s chat" already existed at :207, so zh is a real translation, not English fallback.

Generated artifacts current at the tip: build-client.mjs --check exit 0, ds-bot-patches.mjs check = 10 patches apply cleanly and core/ = ds-bot/ + patches/ds-bot/.

CI at this head: 14 check runs, all completed and green (tests-ok, both plugins (social) runs, package, merge-gate, reviewed tip) except enqueue-guard — no Verifier report names the tip 778cd7132543 — which is this report.

Note, not a blocker: the body still carries the pre-rebase pass label and no agent-pr; both are inert on a fork head (enqueue-guard exempts fork), and I left the label alone since agent-pr is Dev's to set.
