Google guidelines do not indicate double space, our code is already mixed-use, and it's weird. Fixing files will follow.

This is mostly whitespace changes and a couple of renames. I found these as I was looking at other things, and it seems better to fix them early.
This can be reviewed commit-by-commit and merged without squash - each commit is self-contained.
