Moves the agentmiddleware.dev homepage into this repo, per C.Lee's decision, so Vercel can build it with root directory site. Replaces #199 with a fresh branch so gitleaks' full-history scan passes; the final site/ tree is identical to #199's head (9fdf53a6), tree 188de97cb8fcf2d2d733bdaf0408dddbb7f98bcc.

Provenance: agentmiddleware/agent-middleware-api 9289867d50c6cbc184db3efc5ef630378fb5f973, 9289867:site tree b921339bda76bad058e9d0af333c230d954e2b5c.

Commits:

  1. site/ from 9289867:site, with exactly two lines changed: the X-API-Key doc placeholder in site/docs-src/receipt-spec-v0-1.md (line 16) and site/docs-src/http-api.md (line 18) replaced by $AMW_API_KEY. Verified with diff -r against the source tree: only those two lines differ.
  2. site/ changes from Homepage: hero receipt copy, example output, single install block, remove curl text agent-middleware-api#852.
  3. CodeQL js/xss-through-dom fix in site/arcade-boot.js: asset URLs from data attributes are accepted only if same-origin http(s) .js/.css.

Not included: tests/test_site_agent_interface.py from #852, because it imports the API backend (app.*), which doesn't exist in this repo.

Local checks: all 6 site/test_*.mjs suites pass; gitleaks with the repo config finds nothing in this branch's history. No Vercel settings changed.

Note

Low Risk
Adds a gated static marketing surface and client-side demo-key calls to the public API; it does not change gateway authentication or core API behavior in this diff.

Overview
Adds the full site/ tree so www.agentmiddleware.dev builds from this repo (Vercel root site/, python3 build_site.py → dist/). That is a static design-partner funnel—homepage with recorded governed-loop proof, /proof/, /pilot/, /compare/, /demo-key/, generated /docs/ from docs-src via build_docs.py, machine discovery (agent.json, llms.txt), and shared nav/footer/CSP-friendly assets (a11y, analytics, lazy-loaded arcade).

build_site.py enforces launch contacts (PUBLIC_DISPLAY_NAME, PUBLIC_CONTACT_EMAIL), optional booking blocks, transcript/receipt consistency for proof panels, FAQ JSON-LD from visible markup, and font/preload validation before emit.

Docs tweaks from the upstream import: site/docs-src/http-api.md and receipt-spec-v0-1.md use $AMW_API_KEY instead of inline X-API-Key placeholders (gitleaks-friendly). arcade-boot.js only injects arcade script/CSS when data-attribute URLs parse as same-origin http(s) paths ending in .js/.css (CodeQL DOM XSS mitigation).

Not in this PR: API-backend test tests/test_site_agent_interface.py from #852.

Walkthrough

The pull request adds a static marketing site with product pages, generated documentation, machine-readable discovery resources, and deployment configuration. It adds demo-key request flows with attribution capture, a published receipt and offline verifier, and a recorded proof transcript. It also adds accessibility controls, an arcade overlay, a WebGL visual effect, self-hosted font tooling, and site build and validation scripts.

Priority: Normal

Estimated code review effort: 5 (Critical) | ~120 minutes

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to e04ef

The site has outstanding reported issues, including a potential problem in generated FAQ data. Confirm and address the material issues before merging.

Security architecture risk: Low · up to e04ef

The inspected flows retain server-side credential issuance and restrictive browser controls. No material expansion of credential authority was established. Deployment failure handling and the external signup service remain operational verification gaps.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • observed — Unauthenticated visitors can request demo credentials when issuance is enabled, but cannot select tenant or wallet ownership through these clients. Gateway minting creates demo-tenant wallets and a wallet-scoped key with configured credits, tool restrictions, expiry, and usage settings. The additional signup disclosure is limited by the browser payload to wallet ID, attribution, and optional email; receiving-service controls were not verified.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The browser remains an untrusted issuance client: the gateway checks enablement, browser origin, and issuance limits before minting. Separately, dynamic arcade asset URLs must be same-origin HTTP(S) with the expected extension, and the declared browser policy restricts script execution to the site's own origin.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — The unchanged gateway fails issuance closed in production-like environments without shared counters or when limit checks are unavailable. Issuance counters precede minting, and the live-key count is separate from the mint transaction; retries and concurrency therefore retain existing admission limitations rather than gaining a new atomic reservation guarantee.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Verify deployment root, isolated build execution, successful-exit-only promotion, and rollback before cutover. If dist is ever served directly or reused across concurrent builds, use staged output and atomic promotion instead of replacing the served directory in place.
  • proposed — Consider reducing attribution referrers to origins or approved campaign fields before either outbound request. Verify the external signup function's validation, abuse limits, retention, and treatment of caller-supplied wallet IDs; client payloads are not proof of wallet ownership.

Reviewed at dc9ccd8 (3 commits, base main cbc0d32, 97 files, all under site/).

(a) 0f3ffb7: diff -r of its site/ against agent-middleware-api@9289867:site differs in exactly two lines, both YOUR_DEMO_KEY -> $AMW_API_KEY: site/docs-src/http-api.md:18 and site/docs-src/receipt-spec-v0-1.md:16. No made-up data. Nit (non-blocking): inside single quotes 'X-API-Key: $AMW_API_KEY' won't expand, so a copy-paste sends the literal string. Double quotes would fix it.
(b) 25546fa: diff is byte-identical to agent-middleware-api#852's site/ diff (9289867..15c183d), only abbreviated index hashes differ. #852's tests/test_site_agent_interface.py change is not carried over, which is expected because that test lives in the api repo.
(c) dc9ccd8: only site/arcade-boot.js. The data-arcade-* attributes now pass through assetUrl() (same origin, http/https, .js/.css path) before they reach script.src/link.href (arcade-boot.js:36-50, 69, 73). That blocks javascript:, data:, and cross-origin values. The file has no innerHTML/outerHTML/document.write/insertAdjacentHTML/eval. ?arcade= is only checked for truthiness (line 121) and never reaches a sink. CodeQL is green, with no open alerts on the PR ref.
Nothing else is in the PR.

REVIEW: PASS pi dc9ccd8

the verifier to catch RecursionError alongside OSError and ValueError, ensuring
deeply nested JSON is handled through the existing malformed-input error path.
- Around line 246-263: In the receipt verification flow, keep the signed_canon
assignment where it is, but move the alg and canonicalization unsupported checks
to after the _ed25519_verify signature check. This ensures tampered signing
input is classified as invalid before unsupported metadata is considered.
- Around line 66-68: Update the docstring on canonical_json to identify its
output as awi-canonical-json/1 and state that it is not RFC 8785 JCS, noting its
ASCII escaping, float formatting, and key-ordering differences; preserve the
existing serialization behavior so signed receipt hashes remain unchanged.

Review comments at @site/README.md:
- Around line 83-84: Update the README’s testing and transcript instructions to
reference the six available site test suites and an existing transcript workflow
instead of missing tooling; also correct the documented dashboard and
approval-card paths to include their gateway prefix.

Review comments at @site/render_social_card.py:
- Line 109: Update local_font_css to verify that every referenced .woff2 font
file exists before returning the stylesheet, and fail rather than allow Chromium
to render the card with fallback typography.

Review comments at @site/sitemap.xml:
- Around line 27-118: Update render_site() to generate the docs sitemap entries
from generated_docs keys for docs/<slug>/index.html and replace a single
@@DOCS_SITEMAP@@ token. Remove the hand-written docs URL entries from the
sitemap while preserving its non-doc entries and BUILD_DATE behavior.

Review comments at @site/vendor_fonts.py:
- Around line 280-282: Reorder the stale-font cleanup in `write()` so
`STYLESHEET.write_text` and `MANIFEST.write_text` complete before the loop
unlinks fonts not in `files`. This ensures an interrupted update retains assets
referenced by the existing stylesheet or manifest.

Review comments at @site/wave.js:
- Around line 1125-1137: Add a contextLost flag to the renderer state, set it in
the webglcontextlost handler, and make scheduleFrame skip scheduling while it is
true. Clear the flag when the WebGL context is restored so rendering can resume.

REVIEW: FAIL deepseek 1c43e77

The head moved since the last review, so this review is on 1c43e77 (main merge 64f38d3 + d7ec972 + 1c43e77). Chunked DeepSeek pass: root_0-3, subdirs, fonts and arcade_js_0 finished, with root_3, subdirs and arcade_js_0 timing out on partial output. arcade_js_1-4 (site/arcade.js remainder) were not run because the reviewer host stayed above its load limit. I verified every finding below by hand against the head, and dropped DeepSeek claims I couldn't verify (e.g. a vercel.json cleanUrls redirect loop).

  • site/index.html:238: the proof steps mix two different runs. Step 1 says tool partner.echo, which comes from the live receipt rcpt-9daf745e477d45ab (railway-prod-ed25519). Steps 2-3 and the output panel show the recorded local replay rcpt-641b10a5d96547bb, whose tool is trust-plane-echo in site/proof/transcript.json. A reader sees one flow with two different tools. Either label step 1 as the live verification, or make all three steps use one run's tool and receipt.
  • site/styles.css:2960: body.home-light .home-key-field-row uses border: 1px solid var(--home-line) (#e5e7eb) on --home-soft (#f8fafc). That's about 1.2:1, below WCAG 1.4.11's 3:1 minimum for UI components. The contrast test checks --home-control-line, which this rule doesn't use, so it passes anyway. Same issue at :2985 and :3006 (border-left with --home-line).

Non-blocking:

  • scripts/render_social_card.py:255-258: the subprocess.run(..., timeout=...) call only catches OSError, so a hung renderer raises an uncaught subprocess.TimeoutExpired instead of the intended clean error.
  • scripts/build_site.py:932: shutil.rmtree(output, ignore_errors=True) runs on DEFAULT_OUTPUT.resolve(), so if site/dist is a symlink, the build deletes the link's target. Refuse symlinks, or rmtree the unresolved path. This only affects local builds.

Verified OK:

  • rcpt-9daf745e477d45ab equals site/proof/receipt.json receipt_id and the transcript's live_receipt_verification output.
  • rcpt-641b10a5d96547bb matches the transcript invoke and replay steps (same id, 1 ledger debit, 2 credits). The hero's "call/retry receipt_id: rcpt-641b10a5d96547bb (1 ledger debit)" is accurate.
  • The curl tab's POST https://api.thisisatest.tech/v1/demo/keys matches demo_keys.py (router prefix /v1/demo, @router.post("/keys"), which returns api_key and wallet_id).
  • The earlier made-up IDs (order-123, rcpt_7Kq2mX9) are gone from index.html.

Step 1 now names trust-plane-echo, the tool of the recorded run in
site/proof/transcript.json, so steps 1-3 and the output share one source.
Key field row borders and button separators use --home-control-line
(#6b7280, 4.62:1 on --home-soft) instead of --home-line (1.18:1).
Contrast test now covers these rules.

REVIEW: PASS deepseek e04efa4

Delta review from 1c43e77. The head was checked before posting. Changed since 1c43e77: site/index.html, site/styles.css, site/test_home_contrast.mjs and site/test_home_key.mjs. site/arcade.js is unchanged.

Previously blocking, now resolved:

  • site/index.html:238: hero step 1 now reads tool trust-plane-echo. partner.echo and the live receipt id rcpt-9daf745e477d45ab are gone from index.html. The hero shows only rcpt-641b10a5d96547bb (call and retry), which matches the transcript's invoke and replay steps. test_home_key.mjs now derives the tool from transcript.latency.tool, checks it against the authorize step's allowed_tools, and asserts that partner.echo and rcpt-9daf… are absent.
  • site/styles.css:2960, :2985 and :3006 now use --home-control-line (#6b7280). That's 4.62:1 on --home-soft (#f8fafc), which I computed, and it clears 3:1. test_home_contrast.mjs now asserts all three rules use --home-control-line and checks its contrast against both background and panel, including the high-contrast --line-strong alpha blend.

site/arcade.js, reviewed in full (18,216 lines): DeepSeek ran all five chunks now that load was ≤28. Chunks 1 and 2 finished; chunks 0, 3 and 4 timed out, and chunk 3 produced nothing usable. I covered the gaps by hand. Security sweep across the whole file: no innerHTML, eval or Function, network calls, external URLs, or invented data. DOM text goes through el() and textContent. localStorage reads are wrapped in try and type-checked. ?arcade=<id> only matches against the known CABINETS ids. Verified findings, all non-blocking gameplay or UI:

  • site/arcade.js:5513: Heartbeat's empty-lane press does health -= 0.05 without the drop() health check, so health can go negative, and the HUD bar at ~:5552 then draws past its 92px track. Clamp it, or route through the same ≤0 check.
  • site/arcade.js:7126: Bullet Ledger can take more than one life in a single frame when overlapping bullets hit together. hurt gives no i-frames.
  • site/arcade.js:7589: Backstop fires one shot per press, but heat keeps climbing while fire is held, so holding the button overheats the gun without shooting. This may be intended, but it isn't signposted.
  • site/arcade.js:17053/17642: nodes.selectCount is created empty and only filled by applyFilter(), which runs only on a filter click. The "N CABINETS · FREE PLAY" line is blank on first open. Call applyFilter("ALL") after building the grid.
  • I dropped DeepSeek's other claims (Lane Hop row wrap, Cold Storage spawn-in-wall, pad held-input interactions) as unverified or by design.

Non-blocking, carried over and unchanged:

  • scripts/render_social_card.py:255-258 catches only OSError, not subprocess.TimeoutExpired.
  • scripts/build_site.py:932 runs rmtree on a resolved output path, so a symlinked site/dist deletes its target.

REVIEW: PASS deepseek 7fbef93

This delta only merges main on top of the e04efa4 PASS (#200 (comment)).

  • Since e04efa4 there are two commits, a54071d and 7fbef93. Both are merges of main (cd19542 and 96517da), and both parents are on main.
  • The PR diff against its merge base is the same at both heads: 90f9052...e04efa4 and 96517da...7fbef93 each have 34,395 lines, and once index/@@ lines are ignored they are identical. No conflict was resolved by editing PR files.
  • CI is green on this head. Every check passed, except Bugbot, which skipped.

REVIEW: PASS deepseek fdff053

Delta review: 7fbef93 -> fdff053. Commits: 414288b (fixes for the review threads), bc60c94 (security.txt em dash), fdff053 (merge of main at 10cb244, #210). One DeepSeek pass, load ~13. I checked every finding against the head myself.

Security

  • site/proof/verify_receipt.py:341-358: the alg and canonicalization checks now run after Ed25519 verification (:332). An edited alg or canonicalization breaks the signature and comes out "invalid". A validly signed non-Ed25519 alg returns "unsupported" (exit 2), never "verified". The alg comparison uses .get("alg","Ed25519") != "Ed25519", so non-string values are rejected too. RecursionError is now mapped to EXIT_UNDETERMINED (:459, :464). site/test_verify_receipt.py: 4/4 pass locally (the cryptography package is installed in a scratch venv).
  • site/proof/proof.js:46-52: the kid is read from JSON.parse(bundle.signing_input) (the signed bytes) and is required to be a non-empty string. The key match and the displayed fields use only claims, and the unsigned bundle.kid is no longer read.
  • site/build_site.py:835: JSON-LD runs json.dumps(...).replace("<", "\\u003c") after the token replacement (:819-822), so </script> and <!-- can't break out of the script block. No XSS.
  • site/demo-key/demo-key.js: the replacement is now a function, so $&, $` and $$ stay literal. Covered by test_demo_key.mjs, which uses randomUUID values with no invented data.

Non-blocking

  1. verify_receipt.py:350: a validly signed non-string canonicalization (e.g. null) skips the unsupported check and is treated as the default (:380). That isn't a signature bypass, since the bytes are authenticated, but it would be stricter to reject any non-string value as "malformed". This is pre-existing behaviour that only moved in this PR.
  2. site/arcade.js:4237: "YOU 3: 2 ARBITER" reads oddly after the em-dash swap. "YOU 3 - 2 ARBITER" or "YOU 3 / 2 ARBITER" would read better.
  3. DeepSeek also claimed the SDK checks alg before verification (sdk/python/src/b2a_sdk/receipt_verifier.py). That file is outside this diff and I didn't verify it. Worth a follow-up parity check.

DeepSeek findings I rejected after checking the head:

  • site/test_arcade_boot.mjs "fails": 4/4 pass locally.
  • The stale record_site_transcript.py, Makefile, test_site_agent_interface.py and test_site_docs.py claims: none of those files exist in this repo at this head.
  • The README "nonexistent gateway/ paths" claim: gateway/static/dashboard.html and gateway/app/services/approval_card.py both exist.

Merge: the bc60c94 -> fdff053 diff is byte-identical to main's 96517da -> 10cb244 (#210), once index/@@ lines are stripped. Clean.
CI: 52/52 checks pass. Review threads: 35 total, 0 unresolved.
Real data: copy and test changes only. Tests use randomUUID and the committed receipt/trust-keys fixtures. No invented data in live code.
