Battery usage

Hi,

thank you for your work on this Android app, I'm a happy user for some time now.

One thing which I noticed is a high battery use. I think this mainly happens when I work in Obsidian (with auto-save) on another device.

Could it be that every auto save on my other device leads to BasicSync starting some heavy process? And maybe Obsidian saves open files every second, even when there are no changes?

On days where I don't use Obsidian, the battery usage is way lower.

Curious if anything could be improved regarding this issue.

I'm using the application on a Fairphone 6, running Android 16.

BasicSync doesn't change any behavior related to file scanning compared to the upstream Syncthing project. So if Obsidian is really saving files every second, that could definitely trigger a whole bunch of syncs (or at least scans if the files are unmodified).

Normally, when a file is changed, the OS will inform Syncthing of that and then Syncthing will wait 10 seconds before it tries to rescan the file to determine which part of the contents were modified. The 10 second delay is to prevent Syncthing from rescanning files all the time.

You can change this time interval from the Syncthing web UI -> Actions -> Advanced -> Folders -> (Your Obsidian shared folder) -> Fs Watcher Delay (seconds).

Or alternatively, if you don't care about files getting synced immediately, you could also turn off the "Watch for Changes" option from the normal folder settings (under the "Advanced" tab).
