jira VULN-72435 cve-pre CVE-2025-38323 commit-author Gustavo A. R. Silva <gustavo@embeddedor.com> commit 899537b arg is controlled by user-space, hence leading to a potential exploitation of the Spectre variant 1 vulnerability. This issue was detected with the help of Smatch: net/atm/lec.c:715 lec_mcast_attach() warn: potential spectre issue 'dev_lec' [r] (local cap) Fix this by sanitizing arg before using it to index dev_lec. Notice that given that speculation windows are large, the policy is to kill the speculation on the first load and not worry if it can be completed with a dependent load/store [1]. jira VULN-72435 cve CVE-2025-38323 commit-author Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> commit d13a382 syzbot found its way in net/atm/lec.c, and found an error path in lecd_attach() could leave a dangling pointer in dev_lec[]. Add a mutex to protect dev_lecp[] uses from lecd_attach(), lec_vcc_attach() and lec_mcast_attach(). Following patch will use this mutex for /proc/net/atm/lec.
