V 0.14 won't install on Sequoia (Intel Mac running OCLP)

When opening the DMG I see the "not" symbol in the icon for Notepad.Next. Whether running from the .DMG or copying to the internal HD and attempting to run it, I get the message "You can't open the application "NotepadNext" because this application is not supported on this Mac"

This is a 2012 MacBook Pro running Sequoia via Open Core Legacy Patcher. If that's somehow the cause of the problem, so be it, but I will note that:

• Version 0.13 and earlier versions still work on this Mac, and
• I personally have never had an app that should run fail due to an OCLP incompatibility

Anyway, there's the report, thanks for your efforts and I'm happy to dig further if you tell me what you'd want me to check.

Steps to Reproduce

1. On an older Intel Mac running Sequoia and OCLP...
2. Download the .DMG for NotepadNext
3. You'll see the icon with the "Not" symbol in it, indicating the application will not run
4. Double click the app and you'll get the error message I noted above.

Normally don't submit issues, let alone comment on them, but I am using a 2019 Intel Mac and its doing the same for me on Tahoe.

It has nothing to do with OCLP. I own a brand new Apple Silicon Mac (a genuine one) and it does not launch. v0.12 works for me, but not v0.14. Somebody messed up big time with this release and seemingly does not care.

May I ask what error you are getting?

I am running an M4 mac mini with 0.14 without any issues?

Maybe run this command in Terminal

xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/NotepadNext.app/"

This will remove the quarantine flag from the App because @dail8859 doesn't pay (understandable) for an Apple Developer License.

May I ask what error you are getting?

As others have mentioned on this GitHub, same issue. I want to point out that I use a genuine iMac M3 running 14.7.7. Others have tried using OCLP but that's not the issue, since my genuine Mac won't run v0.14, however it runs v0.12 perfectly well. iammike2, did you install it using the DMG file from the GitHub releases page or did you compile it yourself from source? That makes a significant difference, since compiling it yourself insures that it builds with your architecture and your tool chain for your OS, so it insures that the build will run, which is not necessarily the case at all if you download it from the pre-built DMG, which is what I did.

xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/NotepadNext.app/" did not solve the issue. Here's a comparison of v0.12 and v0.14 side by side. As you can see v0.14 is mysteriously incompatible with macOS Sonoma while v0.12 works perfectly fine:

Hope it helps you. Make sure to look at the manifest and the built dependencies between the two versions, something is really really off for the macOS AARM build, look at Info.plist changes between the two versions, maybe.
