Closes #1082. Supersedes #1081, whose commit is kept as the first commit here. - Peeks of identical documents (#1081), added, deleted and unchanged files render as one pane. Changed files keep the Split/Unified setting. The Diff tab is unchanged. - Diff header and tree counts leave out zero halves.
