…through sessionId A job the daemon created but that has not run a prompt has no linkScanPath; its state.json names the session in sessionId/resumeSessionId. Reading only the transcript path makes liveJobCheck answer 'cannot tell' for every session, so archive and delete fail everywhere.

Lands #553 (abate) at its reviewed head 7c9e052, approved on 11/10. Once #540 was merged, #553 conflicted on two adjacent CHANGELOG lines; this merge keeps both. No other change.
To merge with a merge commit (not squash) so that #553 is marked merged.
