Eclipse

An independent collective building software. Based in India, working out of eclipseindia.xyz.

Eclipse isn't a company, a course, or an open contribution community. People get in by reaching out, and once someone's brought onto a team, that team builds the project together. What happens to the code afterward is a separate call — some projects end up open source, some don't — but joining a team itself is always by invite. There's no fixed focus; if a team here is building it, it counts.

How this org works

  • Every project is its own repository under eclipseindia/. No enforced stack — each team decides how they build.
  • Team membership is by invite — that's how you become part of an Eclipse team building a project.
  • Contributing code is a separate thing. Some repos are open source and welcome outside PRs (check that repo's CONTRIBUTING.md); the rest are closed by default — no license to reuse, fork, or resell, and no outside PRs either.
  • A project stays live as long as its team is maintaining it. Dead projects get archived, not deleted, so the work stays visible.
  • Credit lives in the repo it belongs to, not on a single org-wide members page.

Finding a project

Pinned repositories are above. Everything else is in the repositories tab.

Joining a team

Team membership isn't open. If you want to build with us, reach out through eclipseindia.xyz — if there's a fit, you'll be added to a team from there.

Contributing to an open repo

If a repo is marked open source, its CONTRIBUTING.md covers how to send a PR — no invite needed for that. Repos without that marking aren't accepting outside code.
