🚀 Quickstart & Installation

Prerequisites

• Python: 3.11 or higher
• FFmpeg: Installed and available in PATH (brew install ffmpeg on macOS)
• Google Chrome: Standard installation (for CDP automation)
• Google Account: With access to Google Flow / VideoFX

1. Clone Repository

2. Setup Virtual Environment

python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install --upgrade pip
pip install -r requirements.txt
playwright install chromium

3. Configure Environment Variables

Copy .env.example to .env:

cp .env.example .env

Fill in your Google Gemini API key:

GEMINI_API_KEY=your_gemini_api_key_here
YOUTUBE_CLIENT_SECRET_FILE=client_secrets.json

🖥️ Running Flow Studio

Option A: Native macOS Desktop App (Recommended)

Compile the standalone .app bundle onto your Desktop:

chmod +x scripts/build_macos_app.sh
./scripts/build_macos_app.sh

Double-click Flow Studio.app on your Desktop or run:

python3 run_desktop.py

Option B: Terminal Web Dashboard

chmod +x start_dashboard.sh
./start_dashboard.sh

Navigate to http://localhost:8502 in your browser.

🔑 YouTube API Setup (Optional for Auto-Publishing)

1. Open Google Cloud Console.
2. Create a project and enable YouTube Data API v3.
3. Configure the OAuth Consent Screen (User Type: External, add your YouTube channel email as a Test User).
4. Create Credentials: Create Credentials > OAuth client ID > Desktop App.
5. Download the credentials file and save it in the root folder as client_secrets.json.
6. Run the authentication script once to generate your persistent token.json:

   python3 auth_youtube.py

🔒 Security & Privacy Notice

• No Passwords Stored: Flow Studio connects to your existing browser session via CDP. No Google credentials or passwords are ever captured or saved.
• Strict Git Exclusions: .env, client_secrets.json, token.json, and browser user profiles are strictly ignored in .gitignore.
