Check if you can access https://pypi.flet.dev from your machine.

normaly from any browser ? yes
and inside the project foldet, where ich start flet build apk ,
i do: curl -s --head --request GET https://pypi.flet.dev
and get : HTTP/2 200
so yes i could access
or this:
pip index versions msgpack --index-url https://pypi.flet.dev/ returns ERROR: No matching distribution found for msgpack – so the package is missing from the Flet PyPI index entirely.

Any news? I got some: As i change my code to :
and the pyproject.toml to :
I can run the desktop version with
flet runand build an apk without errors, but as i start that under android i got a screen with: ```Traceback (most recent call last):
File "", line 77, in
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'certifi'

This is wrong:
Use Flet package directly/only: https://pypi.org/project/flet/

Why? I don't want to write that this is exactly what I want to do, no, I would like to build with 0.80.5. But I can't get it to work (anymore). And this is the only way to get a flet build apk without errors! I've been trying to fix this for days (OMG, even with AI). I've tried everything except using a different computer. I'm stuck at the moment. My programmes run perfectly under Linux, but I can't build any new ones for Android. It always fails when calling the msgpack dependency. Attempts to use it locally fail because it seems to always be fetched externally in ‘flet build’.

Here is simple app, which I am able to build on all platforms, as seen here. So, I dont think issue comes from our side tbh.
Can you try deleting the build directory (or run with
--clear-cache) and retrying? (without flet-core)VoHeCode commentedon Feb 25, 2026
I always start a new build with emty build folder! That's not the point. May it's on my side but i don't know how to check that/fix that. As if i "install" flet with pip and set the version 0.28.3 or 0.80.5 in the pyproject.toml there is no locale thing that i could "reset" "install" or change. Am i right with that? And it has worked weeks ago with version 0.80.0, with nothing changed meanwhile. Any suggestions?

Alright lets try this: install uv (Python package manager), and run this command to build the app instead:
This basically runs the build command in an isolated virtual environment, with the latest Flet version v0.81.0.
Also, have only
fletin your pyproject.toml dependencies.ndonkoHenri commentedon Aug 17, 2026
Closing as resolved.
msgpackwas never missing from pypi.flet.dev; the Android/iOS wheels have been there all along. The failure was your user-site packages (~/.local/lib/python3.12/site-packages) leaking into the isolated Python thatserious_pythonruns pip with, which shadowed its bundled pip and broke platform-tag resolution —msgpackjust happened to be the first dependency needing a platform-specific wheel.Fixed in
serious_python0.9.11 (serious-python#195) and rolled into the build templates, including the 0.80.5 one. If you're on an older build cache, rebuild with--clear-cacheto pick it up.
