Summary

  • A concurrent PR (ci: move the Go pin from 1.27.1 to 1.27.2 #270) moved CI to Go 1.27.2 (a security release) but left go.mod's own go 1.27.1 directive untouched — correct for actually building (a directive is a floor, Go's toolchain management already picks whatever satisfies it), but it made govulncheck analyze against the stale 1.27.1 stdlib baseline and report 8 already-patched vulnerabilities as still live.
  • Bumping the directive to go 1.27.2 to match fixes govulncheck's own picture (8 reachable vulnerabilities → 0) without changing what actually gets built.
  • Also bumped golang.org/x/net v0.59.0 → v0.61.0 (closes 5 more advisories, all HTTP/2 server-side and already confirmed unreachable by this client-only engine — bumped anyway as cheap defense in depth) plus its transitive x/crypto/x/sys/x/text updates via go mod tidy.
  • golang.org/x/crypto's openpgp advisory (GO-2026-5932, round 162) remains: unmaintained by design, no fix version, still unreachable — unchanged, not newly introduced.

Test plan

  • go build ./...
  • go test ./... (all packages pass)
  • govulncheck ./...: 0 reachable vulnerabilities (down from 8), 1 known-unreachable advisory unchanged

A concurrent PR moved CI to Go 1.27.2 (a security release) but left
go.mod's own "go 1.27.1" directive untouched -- correct for actually
building (a directive is a floor, Go's toolchain management already
picks whatever satisfies it), but it made govulncheck analyze against
the stale 1.27.1 stdlib baseline and report 8 already-patched
vulnerabilities as still live. Bumping the directive to match fixes
govulncheck's own picture without changing what gets built.

Also bumped golang.org/x/net v0.59.0 -> v0.61.0 (closes 5 more
advisories, all HTTP/2 server-side and already confirmed unreachable
by this client-only engine -- bumped anyway as cheap defense in
depth) and its transitive x/crypto, x/sys, x/text updates via go mod
tidy. golang.org/x/crypto's openpgp advisory (GO-2026-5932, round
162) remains: unmaintained by design, no fix version, still unreachable.
