window.DOMPurify to fail closed: when either library is unavailable, assign
markdown via this.article.textContent and return; otherwise parse and sanitize
before assigning to innerHTML.
- Around line 237-252: Update startFixsonServer and the document-change flow to
track opened JSON documents by stable tab or URI, sending textDocument/didOpen
with version 1 whenever a tab is first activated rather than only once globally.
Maintain a per-document version counter and increment it for each corresponding
textDocument/didChange, including a stable URI for untitled tabs.
- Around line 319-321: Reset the global manualLanguage override when activating
a tab by assigning it null at the start of the if (tab) block, before updating
currentFilePath and the editor model, so activeLanguage(currentFilePath) uses
the newly active tab’s detected language.
Review comments at @docs/webIDE/index.html:
- Around line 12-17: Update the external dependency tags in the page to pin
exact CDN versions, add matching integrity hashes and crossorigin="anonymous"
attributes to every external script and stylesheet, and align the Monaco loader
version with the declared monaco-editor dependency or document the intentional
difference. Preserve local scripts unchanged.
Review comments at @docs/webIDE/shared/icons.js:
- Around line 12-21: Update getFileIcon to handle extensions correctly: return
the fallback for missing filenames and names without a dot, derive the extension
without its leading dot, and map aliases such as js, py, and txt to the
corresponding language IDs before falling back. Preserve any existing
extension-map lookup using the correct dotted key and reuse a single fallback
value.
- Line 5: Update the icon data fetch in the shared icon loader to resolve
icons/style1/icons.json relative to the module URL rather than the document URL,
and reject non-OK responses before parsing into iconMap. Apply the change to the
root source and regenerate the shared copy.
Review comments at @docs/webIDE/shared/themes.js:
- Around line 6-7: Update loadTheme to resolve the theme request relative to
themes.js using import.meta.url rather than the document URL, and validate
response.ok before parsing. Throw an error that includes themeId and the HTTP
status for unsuccessful responses, then preserve the existing response.json()
flow for successful responses.
Review comments at @docs/webIDE/shared/UI/git_sidebar/gitui.js:
- Around line 59-77: Update refresh and setWorkspace so overlapping or
workspace-invalidated requests cannot overwrite newer state: assign each refresh
a monotonically increasing refreshToken, check that token before applying either
success or error results, and increment the token when setWorkspace receives a
null workspace. Preserve the existing loading, repository, non-repository, and
error state behavior for the current request.
- Around line 150-152: Preserve the commit message across Git sidebar re-renders
by adding and maintaining this.commitMessage. Update it from the
git-commit-message input listener, restore it as the input value in render, and
clear it only after a successful commit before refresh; keep failed commits and
loading-state re-renders from clearing the stored message.
Review comments at @docs/webIDE/shared/UI/markdown_view/view.js:
- Around line 1-2: Remove the unused shared MarkdownView module, or integrate it
into app.js and ensure its dompurify and marked imports resolve in the built
WebIDE output; preserve the existing window.api.highlightCode dependency and
avoid changing it.
Review comments at @docs/webIDE/web-api.js:
- Around line 231-240: Update the webkitdirectory fallback loop around
virtualWorkspace.files.set to use file.webkitRelativePath for each file’s map
key, with the existing folderName/file.name fallback when unavailable, while
retaining file.name as the display name. Preserve the leading slash so ZIP
export and directory listing retain nested folder structure without collisions.
- Around line 168-175: Update saveProjectAsZip to return an explicit success
value: false when JSZip is unavailable and true after a successful export.
Update saveFile to handle missing data, assign a valid path for new files,
persist the file in virtualWorkspace.files, and return the file path only when
export succeeds; otherwise return null so saveTab does not clear the dirty
state.

Fail closed when marked or DOMPurify is missing.
If window.DOMPurify is undefined, html goes to innerHTML unsanitized. If window.marked is also undefined, the raw Markdown text is assigned as HTML. A Markdown file with embedded HTML, for example from a cloned repository, then runs script in the IDE origin. Sanitization must not depend on a global that can fail to load.
Render the text as plain text when either library is missing.

Send didOpen when each JSON tab is first activated.
startFixsonServer() sends textDocument/didOpen only once. When another JSON tab becomes active, the guard returns without sending a message for that tab. The Web IDE validates documents only after didOpen or didChange, so a newly activated JSON tab can show no diagnostics until it is edited.
Track opened documents and a version counter per tab or URI. Send didOpen with version 1 on first activation, then increment the version for each didChange. Use a stable URI for untitled tabs.

Reset manualLanguage when the active tab changes.
manualLanguage is global. When tab activation calls activeLanguage(currentFilePath), the override can remain from the previous tab. This makes the language label stale and can apply the wrong JSON LSP gate to the newly active tab. Tab activation does not recalculate the model language.

Resolve the icon data URL relative to icons.js.
The Web IDE loads docs/webIDE/shared/icons.js from docs/webIDE/index.html. The current URL targets docs/webIDE/icons/style1/icons.json, but the JSON file is at docs/webIDE/shared/icons/style1/icons.json. The caught failure leaves iconMap empty, so the icon getters use glyph fallbacks and getUiIcon returns an empty string.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Guard refresh against stale results from overlapping calls.
Each refresh call awaits status and log, then writes this.state without checking whether the workspace changed. Two cases cause wrong output:
setWorkspace(null)runs while a refresh is in flight. It clears the state and renders the empty view. The old refresh then overwrites the state with repository data for a workspace that is no longer open.- Two refreshes overlap, for example a workspace switch or a refresh after an action. The slower response wins, even if it is older.
Add a request token. Apply the result only if the token still matches.

Update refresh and setWorkspace so overlapping or workspace-invalidated requests
cannot overwrite newer state: assign each refresh a monotonically increasing
refreshToken, check that token before applying either success or error results,
and increment the token when setWorkspace receives a null workspace. Preserve
the existing loading, repository, non-repository, and error state behavior for
the current request.

Preserve the commit message across re-renders.
render() builds a new <input> each time and calls replaceChildren. Every setMessage and refresh therefore clears the typed commit message. Two cases show the problem:
- A commit fails, for example because of a missing
user.name.runActioncallssetMessage(..., 'error'), and the user's message is lost. - The user clicks Commit. The loading message re-renders the panel before the commit finishes.
Store the text in this.commitMessage. Update it in the input listener, and restore it in render. Clear it only after a successful commit.

Make the shared MarkdownView loadable or remove it.
docs/webIDE/app.js does not import docs/webIDE/shared/UI/markdown_view/view.js; it defines and uses a separate WebMarkdownView. The shared module imports dompurify and marked from docs/webIDE/shared/node_modules, but scripts/build-webide.js does not copy that directory. If another page loads the shared module, its imports can fail.
docs/webIDE/web-api.js does provide window.api.highlightCode, and docs/webIDE/index.html loads it before app.js. That dependency does not require a change. Remove the unused shared module, or make app.js use it and provide its dependencies at the paths used by the module.

Preserve new files and report failed ZIP exports.
A new tab starts with filePath === null. saveFile therefore does not add its content to virtualWorkspace.files, but it returns /workspace/satiscode-project.zip. saveTab then treats the tab as saved even though the new file is absent from the ZIP.
When window.JSZip is unavailable, saveProjectAsZip returns undefined. saveFile still returns a truthy path, so saveTab clears tab.isDirty. Return an explicit success value from the export and return null from saveFile when the export fails.

Update saveProjectAsZip to return an explicit success value: false when JSZip is
unavailable and true after a successful export. Update saveFile to handle
missing data, assign a valid path for new files, persist the file in
virtualWorkspace.files, and return the file path only when export succeeds;

Use the relative path as the map key in the webkitdirectory fallback.
The key is ${activeWorkspacePath}/${file.name}. input.files contains files from nested folders. Two files with the same name in different subfolders, such as src/index.js and test/index.js, map to the same key. The later one silently overwrites the earlier one. The ZIP export then drops files and loses the folder structure.
Use file.webkitRelativePath for the path and keep file.name as the display name. saveProjectAsZip already strips the leading /, so the layout is preserved. listDirectory shows only direct children of dir, unless dir is /workspace. Check that the explorer still shows nested files after this change.

Update the webkitdirectory fallback loop around virtualWorkspace.files.set to
