Add JPEG XL output and dimension support. Require Intervention Image 4.2 for the encoder and document the format.
Support #[Table(key: false)] and align nullable primary-key declarations across models and consumers.
Honor a child model's connection attribute when its parent declares a connection property.
Preserve selected relationship columns when withWhereHas also receives a callback.
Add the strict option to the numeric rule builder, with tests and documentation.
Handle warnings from dead PDO handles during replacement and reconnect.
Add PreventStaleDatabaseReads and usingWritePdo, update the DB facade, and document session-based read routing and scoped writer reads.
Replace HealthCheckController with the constructor-free HealthCheck endpoint and update routing and Workbench.
Remove the unavailable higher-order collection until proxy and its type expectations.
Use the related table name for one-of-many relationship aliases inferred inside closures.
Add Relation::clone() so cloning retains the relationship and its constraints, with independent underlying queries.
Dispatch UniqueJobSkipped when a duplicate unique broadcast cannot acquire its lock.
Bound transformed input keys, retain middleware extension points, and include the upstream amplified-input and memory-copy regressions.
Normalize view namespace hint paths when adding, prepending or replacing them.
Add and consolidate regressions for unique listener and scheduled-job lock cleanup after failed dispatch.
Reconcile notification failure-event coverage, verify quoted SQLite foreign-key targets during table changes, and cover Redis TLS broken-pipe failures.
Additional Hypervel Fixes
Prevent keyless inserts from trying to assign a generated ID after writing the row. Instance operations needing a primary key fail clearly while custom save-key overrides remain supported. Keyless Eloquent collection dictionary operations now throw instead of silently returning empty results, as Laravel does. Unsaved keyed models retain their existing behavior; use concat() or unique('column') for keyless collections.
Keep the input-key counter coroutine-local so concurrent requests cannot consume or bypass each other's budget. Count locally per array rather than accessing coroutine context for every key.
Avoid borrowing a database pool slot on query-free requests. The stale-read middleware uses the connection already held by its execution and preserves its original default connection. The testing resolver follows its active pooled or retained ownership mode.
Release temporary PDO references before replacing dead handles so destruction warnings are handled at the setters. Preserve callback, rollback and cancellation failures, and recognize native PDO TLS connection-loss warnings. Add real reconnect and pooled-release regressions.
Resolve health-check event dispatch at invocation so an earlier request cannot retain an obsolete dispatcher after an event fake changes. Preserve cancellation, diagnosis reporting and request-local view data.
Clarify the existing direct-PDO API difference: named connections own their handles and pool settings, and migrations_connection selects the migration endpoint.
Preserve inherited table and connection attribute overrides in descendant models, and retain the inherited table when Table only configures other settings. Construction-time values that differ from the property default remain intact; an explicit choice equal to that default must be applied after parent construction to override the inherited attribute.
Keep generated one-of-many join aliases separate from schema names and avoid collisions with the related table. Explicit aliases remain unchanged; schema-qualified SQLite projections still require explicit columns.
Apply ShouldRescue to unique-broadcast lock acquisition and skipped-event listeners, preserving cancellation and owned-lock cleanup.
Handle unavailable JPEG XL encoding delegates in the test fixture. Publish CI images without provenance indexes so cleanup cannot delete child manifests still referenced by live tags.
Include the persisted resource identity in OAuth callback test sessions and verify that token exchange sends it.
Formatting, source and type-fixture analysis, affected tests, Testbench package checks and package-consumer checks pass. The full-suite run exposed a stale relation-clone assertion, which was corrected and verified with the affected tests. Native JXL cases retain codec-availability skips; the existing Swoole socket-warning defect has a version-gated regression.
Models can now be declared without a primary key via #[Table(key: false)]; $primaryKey property types across fixtures were widened to nullable. Keyless models support insert, retrieval, and explicit-column deduplication, but save/refresh/delete throw a LogicException (see Table.php and DatabaseEloquentModelAttributesTest.php).
Adds PreventStaleDatabaseReads middleware that routes reads to the write connection for a 2-second window after a session-recorded write (see PreventStaleDatabaseReads.php).
TransformsRequest now rejects requests with HTTP 413 when cumulative input-key bytes exceed 20 MiB, shared across query and form parameters (see TransformsRequest.php).
Other changes: Relation.clone() preserves the concrete relation type, withWhereHas keeps column constraints with callbacks, Rule::numeric(strict: true) exists, FileViewFinder namespace hints store real paths, HealthCheckController is replaced by an invokable HealthCheck, and the image component gains JPEG XL output (requiring intervention/image ^4.2).
Behavioral Change: keyless-model operations that need an identity now throw LogicException; input-key totals over 20 MiB return 413; image dependency floor moves from 4.0 to 4.2.

Allow Table(key: false), align nullable primary-key declarations across models and consumers, and keep child connection attributes authoritative without reflecting on each hydration. Preserve selected columns when withWhereHas also receives a callback.
Keyless inserts no longer attempt to assign a generated ID after writing. Identity-dependent instance operations and collection dictionaries fail clearly instead of losing rows, while custom save keys and unsaved keyed-model collection behavior remain supported. Document concat and explicit-column unique as the keyless collection alternatives.
Validated the affected model, collection, relationship and consumer tests, including failing-before collection regressions and SQLite insertion and retrieval. Source/type analysis, formatting, and the corrected full-batch verification pass.

Suppress dead-handle destruction warnings at the PDO setters and release temporary references before replacement, while preserving callback, rollback and cancellation failures. Recognize native PDO TLS connection-loss warnings. The real reconnect regression covers native success and records the existing Swoole warning-suppression defect with its version-gated test.
Add PreventStaleDatabaseReads without borrowing a pool slot on query-free requests. Resolve already-held connections through the active execution or testing owner, including enum/default names. Add driver-neutral usingWritePdo callback scoping with exception-safe preference restoration and regenerate the DB facade.
Explain that direct endpoints use named connections and migrations_connection so pool ownership remains intact. Validate affected PDO, lease, resolver, manager, middleware and session tests, package-mode Testbench, source/type analysis and formatting. Summary
Held connection lookup and read routing src/database/src/ConnectionResolver.php, src/database/src/DatabaseManager.php, src/database/src/Connection.php, src/foundation/src/Http/Middleware/PreventStaleDatabaseReads.php, src/foundation/src/Testing/DatabaseConnectionResolver.php, src/support/src/Facades/DB.php, src/docs/database.md, tests/Database/*, tests/Integration/Foundation/Http/Middleware/PreventStaleDatabaseReadsTest.php
Resolvers expose held connections. usingWritePdo temporarily routes callback reads through the write connection. Middleware tracks writes in the session and routes default-connection reads to the writer within its configured delay.
Models can use a null primary-key name. Identity-dependent operations and collection dictionary operations reject keyless models. Relationship queries support selected columns, relations expose clone(), and one-of-many alias inference handles qualified tables and closure-defined relations. Model fixtures declare nullable primary-key properties.
PDO session synchronization and cleanup release local references during replacement and disconnect. Lost-connection detection checks selected PDO SSL warning patterns. Documentation identifies direct-PDO methods and the ::direct suffix as unsupported.
Request transformations count processed key-path bytes per coroutine and reject inputs above the limit with PostTooLargeException. Tests cover nested paths, combined parameter sources, middleware reuse, concurrent requests, and non-string values.
Health-check endpoint
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Invokable health handler and route src/foundation/src/Http/HealthCheck.php, src/foundation/src/Http/HealthCheckController.php, src/foundation/src/Configuration/ApplicationBuilder.php, src/testbench/src/Workbench/Workbench.php, tests/Foundation/Http/HealthCheckTest.php, tests/Foundation/Http/HealthCheckControllerTest.php, tests/Integration/Foundation/Support/Providers/RouteServiceProviderHealthTest.php
The /up route uses HealthCheck instead of HealthCheckController. The handler dispatches diagnosis events and returns JSON or a view with a health-dependent status. Tests cover healthy responses, failures, cancellation, reporting, route serialization, and event fakes.
A unique broadcast that cannot acquire its lock dispatches UniqueJobSkipped when listeners exist. Tests cover lock-acquisition and listener failures, rescue handling, and queue failures.
JPEG XL image support
Layer / File(s)
Summary
JXL format and driver support composer.json, src/image/composer.json, src/image/src/Image.php, src/image/src/Drivers/InterventionDriver.php, src/image/src/ImageOutputOptions.php, src/docs/images.md, tests/Image/*
Image APIs and the Intervention driver support JXL output, MIME types, extension detection, and dimensions. Dependency constraints and installation guidance specify Intervention Image 4.2. Tests cover conversion, signatures, dimensions, processing, and optimization.
Numeric rules accept a strict option. View namespace registration resolves supplied paths. The until collection proxy is removed, and notification tests cover failure-event recording and context cleanup.
Build configuration and related test adjustments .github/workflows/ci-images.yml, tests/Database/DatabaseEloquentHasOneOfManyTest.php, tests/Integration/Database/Sqlite/DatabaseSchemaBuilderTest.php, tests/Database/*, tests/**
The image build disables provenance generation. Related tests cover schema-qualified relations and nullable primary-key declarations.

Explanation
The description follows the repository template's main sections: Laravel Updates, Additional Hypervel Fixes, and a verification paragraph. It lists the changes, and the change set matches the raw summary. It does not fill in the template's required fields. The 'Contribution type' checkbox is not selected. The 'Problem and change' section has no linked issue or discussion. The 'Supporting evidence' section has no regression test IDs, failing/passing results, or documentation sources. The 'Verification' section gives no concrete commands or results, and the 'Before submitting' checklist is not marked. The description also does not show that a 'composer fix' run passed from the repository root, which the template requires for code PRs. Several entries also describe new Hypervel-specific behaviour, such as the keyless-model support and the PreventStaleDatabaseReads middleware. The template requires explicit maintainer approval in a linked discussion for those, and the description links none.

The following are alternative approaches to this PR:
1. Always resolve a connection in stale-read middleware
➕ Simpler middleware and no held-connection inspection API.
➖ Borrows pooled connections even for requests that execute no queries.
2. Require explicit writer-read scopes instead of session tracking
➕ No session dependency or automatic cross-request routing.
➖ Callers must identify every read affected by replica lag; subsequent requests can still see stale data.
Recommendation: Keep the session middleware and held-connection inspection: they address cross-request replica lag without consuming a pool slot on ordinary query-free requests. Retain usingWritePdo for narrower, explicitly scoped consistency needs.
Model.phpSupport keyless model insertion and safe identity operations+17/-9
Support keyless model insertion and safe identity operations
• Makes primary keys nullable, honors Table(key: false), and avoids assigning generated IDs to keyless inserts. Identity-dependent queries fail clearly, and child connection attributes take precedence over inherited properties.
PreventStaleDatabaseReads.phpRoute recent-session reads to the writer+58/-0
Route recent-session reads to the writer
• Adds configurable session-based stale-read prevention for the original default connection. It records writes after the request and avoids borrowing a pooled connection when no recent write requires one.
LostConnectionDetector.phpRecognize native PDO TLS loss warnings+12/-7
Recognize native PDO TLS loss warnings
• Treats narrowly identified PDO SSL warnings with connection-loss reasons as lost connections without classifying unrelated warnings as database failures.
HealthCheck.phpResolve health-check services at invocation+53/-0
Resolve health-check services at invocation
• Adds a constructor-free endpoint that consults the current event dispatcher and returns JSON or HTML health responses. It reports diagnosis failures while preserving debug and cancellation behavior.
TransformsRequest.phpBound input paths without cross-request counters+44/-1
Bound input paths without cross-request counters
• Enforces a coroutine-local cumulative budget for transformed nested keys and rejects oversized input. It also avoids replacing unchanged nested arrays.
UniqueJobSchedulingTest.phpCover scheduled-job lock release after failed push+44/-28
Cover scheduled-job lock release after failed push
• Uses a failing queue connector to verify a unique scheduled job releases its lock and can later be dispatched. Consolidates overlapping dispatch-failure coverage.
• Tests write windows, expiration, custom delays, pooled query-free requests, held connections, and changes to the default connection during a request.
1. Keyless lookups fail with type errors 🐞 Bug≡ Correctness
Description
Model::getKeyName() can now return null, but getQualifiedKeyName() passes it to
qualifyColumn(string) and getRouteKeyName() still declares a string return. Calling whereKey()
or using default route binding for a keyless model therefore raises a PHP type error instead of a
clear missing-primary-key exception.
whereKey() calls getQualifiedKeyName(), which passes the newly nullable key to a string-only
method. Default route binding likewise calls getRouteKeyName(), whose string return type is
incompatible with the null fallback.
The issue below was found during a code review. Follow the provided context and guidance below and implement a solution
## Issue description
Keyless models now return null from `getKeyName()`, but qualified-key lookups and default route-key resolution still require a string.
## Fix Focus Areas
- src/database/src/Eloquent/Model.php[2643-2666]
- src/database/src/Eloquent/Model.php[2775-2800]
## Recommended Fix
Handle a missing primary key explicitly in both methods, raising a clear exception when no explicit route key is available. Add tests for `whereKey()` and default route binding on a keyless model.

PreventStaleDatabaseReads::handle() checks only the connection captured before $next, even if
request code changes the default connection and then writes through it. When a subsequent request in
the same session selects that new default, the middleware has no recorded write timestamp and can
route its reads to a stale replica.
The middleware captures $name before running the request and uses that same name for its sole
post-request lookup. Default-connection changes are coroutine-local and affect later connection()
calls, while modification state belongs to each connection.
The issue below was found during a code review. Follow the provided context and guidance below and implement a solution
## Issue description
The middleware records writes only on the connection that was default before the request ran, missing writes after request code changes the default.
## Fix Focus Areas
- src/foundation/src/Http/Middleware/PreventStaleDatabaseReads.php[35-53]
## Recommended Fix
After `$next`, check the originally tracked connection and, if the default name changed, the held connection for the new default without borrowing a pool slot. Record the timestamp if either was modified, and test a default change followed by a write.

3. Existing app models crash on upgrade 🐞 Bug☼ Reliability
Description
Model::$primaryKey is now typed ?string, and PHP requires a child class's typed property to use
exactly the parent's type, so any child that still declares protected string $primaryKey = '...'
fails with a compile-time fatal error when its class loads. The PR had to update about 25 in-repo
models for this reason (Telescope's EntryModel and many test fixtures), but src/docs/upgrade.md
and the porting guide say nothing about it, so any downstream app or package model with a custom key
will crash after updating.
Every in-repo subclass that declared protected string $primaryKey had to be changed to ?string
in this PR, which shows the old declaration no longer compiles. Neither upgrade.md nor
porting-from-laravel.md (line 233 only says to audit $primaryKey) mentions the new type. The same
applies to user overrides of setKeyName(string $key), because the parent parameter is now
?string and a narrower parameter type is not allowed.
The issue below was found during a code review. Follow the provided context and guidance below and implement a solution
## Issue description
`Model::$primaryKey` changed from `string` to `?string`, and `setKeyName()` now takes `?string`. PHP requires a child's typed property to match the parent's type exactly, so any app or package model with `protected string $primaryKey = '...'` now fails with a fatal error when the class loads. Overrides of `setKeyName(string)` also fail because the parent parameter is now `?string`.
## Fix Focus Areas
- src/docs/upgrade.md[1-40]
- src/docs/porting-from-laravel.md[226-233]
- src/docs/eloquent.md[200-216]
## Recommended Fix
Add an upgrade-guide entry, with high likelihood of impact, telling users to change `protected string $primaryKey` to `protected ?string $primaryKey` and to update any `setKeyName`/`getKeyName` overrides to the nullable signatures. Add the `?string` type to the porting guide's model-property audit list and to the eloquent.md primary-key example.

No additional guards: a keyless model cannot provide a default identity for route binding, find, or relationship-key inference. Explicit route keys, query conditions and relationship keys remain available. Native errors expose missing identity configuration rather than inventing a fallback key.
Publish the single-platform CI images without automatic provenance attestations. The Ubuntu 26.04 runner now retains these attestations, producing tagged image indexes whose required child manifests are untagged. The existing registry cleanup keeps only the two newest untagged versions and deleted the PHP 8.4 children after publishing PHP 8.5, causing CI jobs to fail before checkout.
Explicitly disabling provenance restores the plain-manifest publication shape previously used by these internal images. Retain existing cleanup and document why the flag is needed; no runtime framework behavior changes.
Verified the failed image digest against the registry and build logs, parsed the workflow YAML, and checked the embedded build and push commands with bash -n. Publication and pull verification will run through the corrected branch workflow after the combined correction push.

Add title docblocks to the new anonymous-class methods.
The anonymous SessionConfigurator class declares __construct(), state() and apply() without docblocks. The repository rule requires a title on every non-test method. Other new helpers in this change, such as convertingWarningsToExceptions() and PdoThatWarnsWhenReleased, already follow the rule. An existing Numeric subclass can define its own constructor without calling a parent constructor, because Numeric previously had none. That subclass now inherits an empty constraint list, so validation can accept non-numeric input. The parser uses that list directly. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Keep numeric as the property default and replace it with numeric:strict when strict mode is requested.

Keep Table and Connection attribute overrides effective in descendant models instead of reverting to an older property declaration. A Table attribute that configures only other settings no longer clears the inherited table property.
Cache declaration precedence and property defaults per model class. Preserve different table and connection values assigned during construction, retain direct-attribute precedence, and avoid reading uninitialized properties. Keep all other model-setting precedence rules unchanged.
Document the narrow case where a pre-initialization assignment equal to the inherited default is indistinguishable from the untouched default, with the after-construction alternative. Clarify inherited custom-key precedence and the selection hook required for keyless Refreshes models.
Validated with model and attribute tests, including failing-before construction regressions, static-state cleanup coverage, full source/type/skeleton analysis, focused reanalysis after the construction correction, and formatting.
Compare generated relationship aliases with the unqualified related table name. This prevents schema-qualified closure fallbacks from becoming invalid aliases and keeps named relationships from colliding with their related table.
Preserve explicit relationship aliases and relationship-name inference. Extend existing named and closure relationship tests to schema-qualified models, including lazy loading, eager loading and existence queries. SQLite fixtures select explicit columns to retain its native schema-qualified wildcard limitation.
Validated with the complete one-of-many test file, full source/type/skeleton analysis and formatting.
Run unique-lock acquisition and skipped-event listeners inside the existing ShouldRescue boundary. Keep acquisition before owned-lock cleanup so a skipped broadcast cannot release another dispatch lock, while ordinary events and cancellation still propagate their failures.
Cover rescued and ordinary lock/listener failures and cancellation carried by a listener exception. Clarify that unique-job and unique-broadcast skip notifications require an active listener.
Validated with the complete broadcast manager tests, full source/type/skeleton analysis and formatting.
A registered ImageMagick format does not guarantee its encoding delegate is available. Skip fixture generation when Imagick cannot produce JPEG XL output, retaining unconditional cleanup and all package assertions once a valid fixture exists.
Complete method documentation for the PDO session-configurator fixture and request-transform providers and overrides.
Validated the affected image, PDO and request-transform test files and formatting. The cached PHP 8.4 CI image exercises the existing unavailable-format skip; it does not exercise the new encoder-failure catch.

Added the missing method titles to the PDO session-configurator fixture.
Kept Numeric constructor initialization. A subclass replacing that constructor must call its parent to retain the base initialization; adding a fallback would create behavior beyond the upstream constructor contract.
Kept the native MIME result. There is no demonstrated client failure requiring special normalization of JPEG XL MIME aliases.
The model correction is limited to table/connection inheritance and a nameless Table clearing an inherited table property. Other setting precedence remains unchanged. The database README records the narrow pre-initialization same-default behavior and the after-construction alternative.

Guard the JXL dimension test against missing fileinfo support.
If the installed magic database does not recognize "\xff\x0a\x00\x00" as JXL, Image::dimensions() falls back to getimagesizefromstring() and can throw before Driver::dimensions() runs. Apply the same skip used by the neighboring JXL extension test.

// A JXL signature is recognized by fileinfo but cannot be read by getimagesizefromstring().

Kept the real JXL dimension test. The signature is recognized by local PHP 8.4 and both supported CI images. An empty MAGIC database demonstrates a disabled detection path, not a supported host failure. The test checks the same detection-to-driver path production uses, and currently provides JXL detection coverage when the native encoder fixture is skipped. Neither a mock nor another skip is justified.
The keyless Refreshes guard remains declined because the protected selection hook supports custom row identity. The contribution-template warning does not apply to this maintainer-directed synchronization, and PHPMD's inability to parse supported attributed anonymous classes does not require a workaround.
The real authorization redirect stores the validated resource identifier, but the callback-route fixture omitted it. Token exchange therefore read a missing session field in the successful callback cases.
Add the resource to the shared fixture and assert that the authorization-code request sends it. Preserve the production requirement rather than adding a fallback for malformed test state.
Validated the complete callback-route test file locally and in the CI images, including reproduction of the missing-field failures before the correction. Formatting and diff checks pass.
