Releases the extension as 1.42.0, pinned to data-explorer-core v1.43.0 (e7c0180).

• Core. v1.43.0 carries group H (Tests for S2 and the node ceiling, the group B deviations recorded, and MATLAB read-backs of old core saves (M4, M7) data-explorer-core#150 to Keep a complex cell member through a sibling edit, and a hand-edited Parameter shape through undo data-explorer-core#155, released in Bump to 1.43.0 data-explorer-core#156). The pin moves from v1.42.0, and test/corePin.test.ts moves with it: its three constants are the tag, the tag's commit and the version. Core's dependencies did not change since v1.42.0, so package-lock.json is a hand edit of the same lines as 1.41.0's bump: the root version (twice), the dependency spec, and core's version and resolved commit. npm ci installs core 1.43.0.

• Since 1.41.0, merged into this repository:

  All five are tests, comments and docs. Since 1.41.0, every changed line under src/ is a comment.

• CHANGELOG. There was no [Unreleased] section, so [1.42.0] — 2026-10-19 is new, above [1.41.0]. It opens with a summary paragraph, then five paragraphs on what core 1.43.0 changes in the extension:

  • typed cell literals: unspaced arithmetic refused, a zero imaginary part read as real, and a cell holding a file's zero-imaginary complex member edited one element at a time;
  • the VariantBank family: R2026b's plain bank read and edited, a coder info held under undefined warned of, no Value written on VariantConfigurations;
  • a Parameter's Dimensions and Complexity following its Value, with undo giving back what was read;
  • dictionary saves of hand-edited and pasted shapes: a one-element bus in MATLAB's form, an element list that is not a list, struct fields an element lacks, a one-element object array whose dims say otherwise;
  • .mat values that could not be read.

  It ends, as each release does, with the core version it ships. Left out as test- or docs-only: Tests for S2 and the node ceiling, the group B deviations recorded, and MATLAB read-backs of old core saves (M4, M7) data-explorer-core#150, Describe corpus files in comments and docs without naming them data-explorer-core#154, and the test-only items of Cell literals refuse unspaced arithmetic and read 0i as MATLAB does; VariantBank and VariantConfigurations follow MATLAB in every spelling data-explorer-core#151 and MAT values that could not be read warn and are not shown as if they had been; copies and saves refuse what they cannot spell data-explorer-core#153. Also left out, because no user of this extension can reach them:

  • MAT values that could not be read warn and are not shown as if they had been; copies and saves refuse what they cannot spell data-explorer-core#153's host empty string, a form this extension never hands to core;
  • Nodes keep what they read and check every spelling of a property: JSON re-reads, one-element arrays, struct fields, bus elements, Complexity, Parameter shape data-explorer-core#152's JSON-view re-read: here a failed re-read already fell back to a full repaint from the text, so no error was shown;

• Version. package.json and package-lock.json go to 1.42.0. No other source change.

Gate:

• npm ci passed (rc 0), and the installed data-explorer-core is 1.43.0.
• npm run verify passed (rc 0): 184 files, and 3547 of 3547 tests. check:leak is OK.
• npm run test:integration passed (rc 0): 276 passing, 0 failing, 0 pending (the cutPasteUndo canary ran).
• npm run package (vsce, offline) built simulink-data-explorer-1.42.0.vsix, 138 files, 742.13 KB.

The Marketplace upload stays the maintainer's: the Release workflow attaches the .vsix to the GitHub Release.
