Pavel Stephan Muñoz

Technology Architect · Founder of Minibota Labs LLC · Hands-on Engineer

I design and build cloud platforms, Linux-based systems, backend software, automation workflows, and data-intensive applications, with a strong focus on clarity, performance, and long-term maintainability.

I enjoy solving complex technical problems end-to-end—from architecture and infrastructure to implementation and production. My work combines software architecture, Linux, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and automation to build systems that remain understandable and maintainable for years.

Building:

Featured Products

CronCommander (Founder)

Domain: scheduling, automation, orchestration
Status: Public product

CronCommander is a modern platform for monitoring, managing, and understanding scheduled workloads. It explores how to build reliable control planes for time-based execution with strong observability and operational clarity.

Key ideas:

  • Reliable scheduled execution
  • Automation ownership
  • Observability and diagnostics
  • Cloud-native architecture

RuleGenius (Founder)

Domain: rule engines, validation, data governance
Status: In active development

RuleGenius explores how complex business rules can be modeled, versioned, tested, and evolved without embedding them directly into application code.

Key ideas:

  • Rule abstraction
  • Human-readable DSLs
  • Versioning and auditability
  • High-performance rule evaluation

This project strongly influences my thinking around long-lived systems and governance-heavy domains.

Form-Talk

Domain: conversational systems, workflows
Status: Research & development

Form-Talk explores how structured data collection can become a conversation instead of a traditional form, emphasizing event-driven workflows and explicit state transitions.

Key ideas:

  • Conversational workflows
  • Progressive validation
  • Event-driven architecture
  • Human-centered data collection

Selected Client Work

Sustainability Information System (SIS) — Private Production Platform

Designed and evolved a private Sustainability Information System used to support international sustainability programs across multiple organizations, stakeholder types, and reporting workflows.

The system handles complex sustainability data collection, validation, assessment, auditability, and governance requirements in a multi-tenant production environment. Much of the work involved turning changing standards and program-specific rules into maintainable application architecture.

Key engineering areas included:

  • Multi-tenant access control and data isolation
  • Rule-driven assessments and validation workflows
  • Audit-ready data modeling and traceability
  • Schema evolution for changing sustainability standards
  • Performance improvements for large operational datasets
  • Governance workflows across clients, suppliers, and program administrators

Because the platform is private, source code and implementation details are not public. It represents some of my most substantial work in production architecture, domain modeling, security-conscious design, and long-term system evolution.

Core Technologies

Linux • Python • Java • C/C++ • PostgreSQL • MySQL • Google Cloud Platform • Cloud Run • Docker • REST APIs • Data Engineering • Automation • Software Architecture

How I Like to Work

  • High ownership, low ceremony
  • Clear boundaries and explicit trade-offs
  • Systems that remain understandable years later
  • Fewer abstractions, but better ones

I work best with teams that value thinking before scaling, simplicity over cleverness, and well-engineered systems over quick hacks.

I enjoy working close to the system:

  • Linux servers via SSH
  • Backend services and distributed systems
  • Production debugging and observability
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Data pipelines and automation
  • Google Cloud Platform, especially:
    • Cloud Run
    • Compute Engine
    • Cloud SQL
    • Cloud Storage
    • Cloud Schedule
