Summary

Update the CLI development dependencies from TypeScript 5.9.3 to 6.0.3 and @types/chai 4.3.20 to 5.2.3. Keep the CommonJS build and align TypeScript's module resolution with TypeScript 6 so the CLI's development commands compile at runtime.

What changed

  • Updated package.json and pnpm-lock.yaml for both dependency bumps.
  • Set moduleResolution to bundler in tsconfig.json. TypeScript 6 deprecates the implicit node10 resolution, which caused ts-node to reject development command loading. TypeScript 6 supports this resolution mode with the existing CommonJS output.
  • No changes were needed in src/ or test/. There were no Chai declaration shims to remove; the Mocha tests type-check with @types/chai 5 and Chai 6.3.0.

Why

This brings the CLI onto the same TypeScript major used by the other repositories while preserving its current command output and runtime behavior. The existing Dependabot ignore rule for TypeScript 7 remains unchanged. typescript-eslint 8.71.1 declares TypeScript support for >=4.8.4 <6.1.0, including 6.0.3.

How it was verified

  • pnpm lint: passed.
  • pnpm build: passed.
  • pnpm test: 130 passing, 2 pending smoke tests, 0 failing.
  • pnpm exec tsc -p tsconfig.json --noEmit: passed after the build generated src/license.json.
  • pnpm audit --prod: 0 known vulnerabilities.
  • pnpm audit: 0 known vulnerabilities.

Risks and follow-ups

The two real transfer smoke tests remain pending by design. No other open points.
