Adopt the existing Changelog contribution workflow and development-only skill manager, preserving the pending adoption and historical backfill. Obtain dependency skills from installed Composer packages.

The manifest trusts only fast-forward/config and fast-forward/container via dependencies.composer.trusted with trusted-replace: true, including transitive Config. Remove independent GitHub sources/pins for those libraries; retain any existing Changelog GitHub source, project target, empty aliases and disabled discovery/vendor sources. Contributor documentation describes installed-package synchronization.

Require fast-forward/container:^1.10 so the installed runtime supplies its consumer skill. Keep the existing Config constraint and other runtime requirements. No lockfile is introduced.

Validation: strict Composer metadata and committed contribution checks passed. The full PHPUnit suite passed with Container v1.10.1 (2 tests / 5 assertions), through composer --no-plugins dev-tools -- tests, using DevTools dev-main at 35d27ee. Isolated installed-package synchronization verified all 17 Config and 21 Container files byte for byte, including Config as a transitive dependency. Generated files were exercised only in disposable directories.

Known adoption limitation: this follow-up passes its own contribution comparison, but the complete PR comparison against origin/main still rejects the inherited consolidated CHANGELOG.md backfill. That pending maintenance authorization is preserved; workflow/publication settings are unchanged.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added automated changelog validation, version pull requests, and approved release publishing.
    • Added a standardized project changelog covering recent releases and release history.
    • Added managed support for restoring and synchronizing project contribution skills.
  • Documentation

    • Added contributor guidance for recording observable changes, validating pull requests, and managing releases.
    • Documented changelog automation, skill management, and the required contribution workflow.

The project adds Composer-managed configuration for the Fast Forward Changelog skill, a GitHub Actions workflow that invokes reusable changelog automation, and contributor guidance for changelog fragments and releases. It also adds changelog entries, release history, and archive export rules.

Changes: Changelog adoption

Layer / File(s) Summary
Composer-managed skill setup
composer.json, skills.json, .gitignore, .gitattributes, .changelog/*
Composer now includes the llm/skills development dependency and allows its plugin. The skills configuration sources fast-forward-changelog from GitHub and trusts configured Composer skill dependencies. The repository ignores .agents/ and excludes skill and changelog files from archives. Changelog fragments document the related skill changes.
Workflow and release automation
.github/workflows/changelog.yml, .changelog/adopt-fast-forward-changelog.md
The workflow runs for configured pull request, push, and manual events, with scoped permissions and reusable workflow settings. A changelog fragment describes the automation.
Contributor process and release history
CONTRIBUTING.md, CHANGELOG.md
Contributor guidance covers changelog fragments, skill management, validation, and release steps. The project changelog lists versions 1.1.0, 1.0.1, and 1.0.0 with comparison or release links.

The release automation still runs a mutable external workflow with repository write access. Pinning it, or explicitly accepting that risk, should precede merging.
