Running bug66338.phpt mangles path when cloning into a directory with '.php' character sequences in the pathname

Stripping the '.php' character sequence as basename suffix only fixed the issue for me.

I compared with the --CLEAN-- section which had recent edits previously. #24381

@jorgsowa if I'm not mistaken this miniscule contribution of mine should be in symmetry with your recent edits in the file. I'd be delighted if you can take a look as I centered this small change on the gravity in the clean section you stabilized on __DIR__.
