Summary

Strengthen libcamera and CAMX validation across supported images while keeping runtime decisions evidence-based and portable.

Changes

  • decode and retain the active runtime device tree for camera diagnosis
  • validate enabled CAMX and sensor nodes instead of relying only on raw text matches
  • improve FIT/CDT overlay evidence and camera module validation
  • support packaged CAMX launcher locations and nativehaltest fallback validation
  • add CentOS camera package mappings and command mappings
  • require CAMX packages to be image-provided and report an actionable SKIP when the mapped package set is incomplete
  • document the updated runtime checks, artifacts, options, and result behavior

Validation

  • ShellCheck 0.9.0: pass
  • dash syntax validation: pass
  • git diff --check: pass
  • package-set missing-package helper test: pass

Target status

CentOS currently reports SKIP when the image lacks the required CAMX packages. The available CAMX RPMs are unsigned in the existing repository path, so package provisioning must be corrected in the image/repository flow before target validation can resume.

Use the shared package provider to recover and verify the complete mapped Camera NHX package set for explicit overlay runs. Keep Ubuntu on its existing APT sources, use the Debian staging source, and prepare the Qualcomm RPM repositories on CentOS.
