Choose a tag to compare

@annickdebacker annickdebacker released this 01 Jun 09:11

This release modernizes the StatSTEM GUI to be compatible with MATLAB 2025a and later, where several Java-based GUI functions were removed or restricted.

Changes:

  • Fixed fatal crash on MATLAB 2025a+ caused by jsonencode incompatibility with Java objects in figure callbacks
  • Replaced deprecated javacomponent calls in progress bar, message panel, splash screen and logo panel with native MATLAB equivalents
  • Replaced deprecated im2java calls with native MATLAB image display
  • Removed unsupported JavaFrame and opengl hardware calls
  • Fixed resize and maximize/restore behavior with stable timer-based approach
  • Fixed image options checkboxes (Input/Fitted coordinates etc.)
  • Fixed Edit Colors and Edit Column Width dialog sizing
  • Fixed progress bar visual display

@ThFriedrich ThFriedrich released this 20 Nov 10:07
a4e1af2

A user friendly MATLAB application for extracting structural information from electron microscopy images.

New in this version:

  • Hidden Markov model (HMM) for atom-counting from a time series of images
  • Functionality of the model-selection procedure by the maximum a posteriori (MAP) probability rule has been improved
  • Additional Peak-Finder routine with dedicated UI implemented
  • Fixed compatibility issues with Matlab/Matlab runtime versions >2019a
  • Minor changes have been implemented in the GUI
  • Several Bug-fixes
  • Compiled standalone Binaries now distributed within the Release
    • Use either the Source-Code (Source code.zip / Source code.tar.gz) with Matlab or the Binaries corresponding to your Operating system if you don't have a Matlab license.

@karelvandenbos karelvandenbos released this 21 Sep 12:48

A user friendly MATLAB application for extracting structural information from electron microscopy images

Use this version if you have access to MATLAB. The version is tested stable under MATLAB 2015a, 2016a and 2017a on a pc, mac and linux system.

We strongly recommend NOT to use MATLAB 2018a, this version of MATLAB is unstable for making images.

New in this version:

-Model selection (MAP) methodology for finding peak locations
-Create 3D models (optional: calculate coordination number)
-Create lattice parameters plots and images
-Calculate octahedral tilt
-Load DM (.dm3, .dm4) files
-Crop images
-Invert image contrast
-Normalise images
-Automatic column type identification (before fitting)
-Coloured displacement map
-Internal code is now object oriented, making the code more readable for other developers.
-User defined function can be added to StatSTEM (tutorial will follow)

If you don't have access to MATLAB, a compiled version of StatSTEMv3.0 can be found at:
