Add mech-keyboard: an isometric keyboard that presses along with yours - #48
Conversation
…resses along with yours. A 75% board in three.js: milled case, volume knob, and 82 keycaps in flat tone bands with ink outlines traced from depth and normals. Real keys and clicks press the caps, and a recorder spells out the chord in illustrated keycaps for a create-a-shortcut onboarding step. Monochrome drops the color. timer and the corresponding keyup recovery branch in the event handlers, so both
behaviors run only on macOS; do not use opts.platform.
- Around line 1583-1584: Update the renderer cleanup in destroy() to call
forceContextLoss() after renderer.dispose() and before removing the element,
ensuring the WebGL context is released on unmount.
- Around line 1440-1448: Update the pointer press tracking in the handler that
calls press(code) to associate each code with its event.pointerId. Change
onPointerUp to look up and remove only that pointer’s code before releasing it,
so simultaneous touches cannot overwrite one another or release the wrong key.

| // macOS fires one event per Caps Lock toggle; never leave it stuck. | ||

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Use the CapsLock auto-release timer on macOS only.
The comment says this workaround is for macOS. The code runs it on every OS. On Windows and Linux, CapsLock fires normal keydown/keyup pairs. If the user holds CapsLock longer than 160 ms, this sequence occurs:
- The timer releases CapsLock.
onKey("CapsLock", false)fires, andonShortcutfires. - The real
keyuparrives whileheldno longer contains"CapsLock". - The branch at Line 1387 calls
press("CapsLock")again and schedules a second release.
One physical CapsLock press then emits two press/release pairs and two onShortcut callbacks. A held CapsLock chord such as Caps+A also breaks at 160 ms.
Base the check on the real OS from detectPlatform(). Do not use opts.platform, because that option only controls displayed legends. Apply the same condition to the keyup branch at Lines 1387-1392.

…L context. Two fingers on two caps no longer leave one stuck down. The Caps Lock auto-release only runs where macOS sends a single event per toggle. And destroy() gives the context back instead of waiting for garbage collection. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
