# TeachLink Mobile Vision

## Purpose

This document is the shared, versioned reference for the long-term direction of TeachLink Mobile. It guides product, engineering, and governance decisions without prescribing a specific roadmap or implementation.

## Multi-year vision

Over the next three to five years, TeachLink Mobile aims to become a trusted, accessible place where people can discover useful knowledge, learn from one another, and build lasting learning communities. Learners should be able to move naturally between finding content, engaging with educators and peers, and making meaningful progress. Educators and creators should be able to share their expertise and sustain their work through fair, dependable tools.

TeachLink should deliver this experience consistently across supported platforms and a range of devices and connectivity conditions. As the community and product grow, the experience should remain understandable, responsive, respectful of people's data, and dependable for its core learning and communication workflows.

## Intended end state

At the intended end state:

- Learners can discover relevant knowledge, participate in useful conversations, and see their learning progress in one coherent experience.
- Educators and creators can publish and share knowledge, connect with their communities, and access transparent ways to support their work.
- Core experiences work accessibly across supported platforms, devices, and varied network conditions.
- People can understand and control how their data is used, and community interactions are designed with safety and respect in mind.
- The product can evolve sustainably through reliable engineering, clear governance, and decisions that can be understood and revisited.

These outcomes describe direction, not a promise that every capability is available today.

## Guiding principles

1. **Learning comes first.** Prioritize useful learning outcomes and meaningful progress over engagement for its own sake.
2. **Make participation inclusive.** Design for different abilities, experience levels, devices, and connectivity conditions; reduce unnecessary barriers to learning and contribution.
3. **Earn trust.** Protect personal information, communicate clearly about its use, and make safety and respectful participation part of product decisions.
4. **Value educators and creators.** Give contributors practical tools, clear expectations, and fair, transparent opportunities to sustain their work.
5. **Prefer dependable simplicity.** Keep essential experiences understandable and resilient. Use complexity only when it meaningfully serves learners or contributors.
6. **Grow responsibly.** Balance product ambition with maintainability, performance, security, and the long-term health of the community.
7. **Make decisions accountable.** Record significant trade-offs, invite appropriate community and contributor input, and revisit decisions when evidence or needs change.

## Applying and evolving this vision

Use this vision to frame product proposals and governance decisions, especially when priorities conflict. It complements detailed roadmaps, policies, and architecture decisions; it does not replace them. Review it when TeachLink's audience, purpose, or operating context materially changes, and update it through the project's normal review process so that its direction remains explicit and versioned.
