Removed

• Breaking (pre-1.0): Page metadata now ignores type in frontmatter and YAML sidecars. Rename it to kind; pages relying only on type still load but no longer register as sections. See Page Metadata.

Fixed

• An invalid namespace no longer fails the site load. rw warns and uses a valid frontmatter or sidecar declaration, otherwise the inherited namespace (default if none). See Page Metadata.
• A wrong-typed metadata field no longer discards valid sibling fields. rw warns with the filename and drops only the offending field; invalid frontmatter values fall back to valid sidecar values. See Page Metadata.
• Malformed YAML and non-mapping metadata sources now make rw log warnings naming the file. Empty or null sources remain silent.
• A project-root README.md used as the homepage now applies all of its frontmatter metadata, rather than only its title.
• Starting an inline comment on the first words after a diagram now places the comment form beside the selected sentence instead of beside the diagram.
• Comments created from quotes containing HTML character references now anchor to the same text and offsets the browser sees, instead of appearing orphaned.

Security

• rw's HTTP/2 server and S3/HTTPS clients, plus @rwdocs/core's S3/HTTPS client, now include the fix for RUSTSEC-2026-0258. A malicious peer could exhaust memory or crash a connection. Upgrading is all you need.
