Differentiate paid and organic referral traffic #97
Visits from the same referrer domain, such as Google or Facebook, cannot currently be distinguished as paid or organic based on the pageview data collected by the public script.
Why
Agencies and site owners need this distinction to evaluate paid and SEO campaigns without weakening Simple Analytics privacy standards.
Notes
Query parameter values may contain personal or sensitive information and must not be required for this distinction.
Implemented in scripts#40: the script collects the names (never values) of non-empty query parameters, so paid traffic can be recognised by parameters like gclid. Sites can opt out with ignoreMetrics: querykeys.
