Ahrefs' broken-backlinks report (2026-10-18) found 25 old fly.io/docs paths that now forward to docs.fly.io pages that don't exist. Each now redirects to the closest live page. Every destination was checked and returns 200.
The strongest links being recovered:
/flyctl/extensions-tigris-list→/flyctl/cmd/fly_storage_list/future→//about/security→/security/security-at-fly-io/launch/continuous-deployment/github-actionsand/reference/ci-cd→/launch/continuous-deployment-with-github-actions/reference/config→/reference/configuration/app-guides/speed-up-a-heroku-app→ https://fly.io/learn/heroku-alternatives/. The original guide is gone, and that's the closest page for readers coming from Heroku./getting-started/login-to-fly→/getting-started/sign-up-sign-inThe rest point to the obvious current pages:
/cli,/introduction,/getting-help, the install pages, axum, bun, svelte, django, legacy scaling, Elixir node naming, enveloop, the machines API, and/about/sprites.Not redirected: the old Fly Edge JS API pages (
/apps/api/...,/apps/cdn/...) and a few typo URLs, because nothing current covers them. The 391 old fly.io/docs URLs that had search clicks this summer were also checked, and all of them already resolve to a live page.
