Version metadata is inconsistent across files

Three places disagree about which version this is:

• DESCRIPTION: Version: 1.5.3
• inst/NEWS.Rd: latest section is 1.5.2 (2026-08-23); no entry for 1.5.3
• README.md:52: "R package version 1.5.0"

The README citation would be better generated from packageVersion() or simply left version-less,
since it drifts every release. inst/NEWS.Rd needs a 1.5.3 section saying what changed.

Thank you for pointing this out. We’ve fixed the version drift in README.md, which had become out of sync with README.Rmd.
