Gramphite

An unofficial fork of Telegram Desktop. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Telegram.

• Flat graphite redesign: a neutral dark-grey palette with white controls, used by default.
• macOS liquid glass (macOS 26+): a glass side bar and chats list, a floating glass compose area, and glass sticker panel, mention autocomplete and inline bot results.
• Local features, toggled per account in a separate settings section: ghost read / stories / online, edit history, keeping deleted and expiring messages, saving protected content, profile and online history, block hints and registration date estimates.

Warning

Some local features change how the client talks to Telegram servers or bypass content protection. They may violate the Telegram API Terms of Service. Use them at your own risk.

Building

Build it the same way as upstream (see the instructions below). Telegram/lib_ui comes from the gramphite-lib_ui fork, so clone with submodules. Builds made for distribution need their own api_id, passed with -D TDESKTOP_API_ID=... -D TDESKTOP_API_HASH=....

Updating from upstream

All fork changes sit as a few topic commits on the gramphite branch, on top of an upstream release tag:

git rebase --onto vX.Y.Z vOLD gramphite

lib_ui is rebased the same way, onto the commit that upstream pins for the new release.
