Repository files navigation
Dotfiles. Used mostly on Linux. But also has a little bit of partially broken support for WSL, ucLinux, macOS, Solaris, plain Windows. * Bootstrapping a new machine The repository uses =mise= for package installation, tool versions, repository checkouts, and dotfile links. The two seed scripts only install Git and =mise=, clone this repository, trust its =mise.toml=, and run =mise bootstrap=. On Linux, macOS, or another Unix-like system: #+begin_src bash curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/timfel/dotfiles/refs/heads/master/bootstrap.sh | bash #+end_src On Windows PowerShell: #+begin_src powershell Invoke-WebRequest -UseBasicParsing -Uri "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/timfel/dotfiles/master/bootstrap.ps1" -OutFile "./bootstrap.ps1"; &"./bootstrap.ps1" #+end_src The scripts are deliberately conservative when the checkout already exists: they do not pull or reset it. Set =DOTFILES_REPO= to use another repository or =DOTFILES_DIR= to choose another checkout location. After reviewing the plan, subsequent setup is simply: #+begin_src bash cd ~/dotfiles mise bootstrap --dry-run mise bootstrap --yes #+end_src To update, run ~mise lock --global --bump~ then ~mise install --locked~
