• The search control of the bar, and Ctrl K or ⌘ K, open the search as a dialog over the current page, which closes with Escape or a press outside it. The results come as the reader types.
• The form is shared by the dialog and the search page, which stays for a reader with no script and for a search shared by its address.
• The search and its index load the first time the dialog opens, so a page that is never searched pays only for the dialog script.
