…d default The summarizer no longer runs automatically when a large tool result arrives; instead, TinyJuice stores the payload behind a recovery handle and the model runs only when the agent explicitly calls `juice_summarize`. The `summarizer_max_payload_tokens` default is lowered from 2,000,000 to 64,000 to prevent billing for oversized requests that the timeout would cancel. The `LlmSummaryMode` type is re-exported from the local types module for consistency. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The round-trip test now verifies that the slice-read tool appears before the whole-original retrieve tool in the preview, ensuring the model sees the most relevant context first. The assertion also narrows the set of tool names checked to only those that should appear in the preview. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>

…n exemption Removed an unused import of `tool_result_artifacts_dir` from the artifact wiring module. Updated the doc comment on `tool_result_budget_bytes` to clarify that the `juice_summarize` tool currently returns only TinyJuice's deterministic overview and that OpenHuman does not yet pass the summarizer model into that tool. Added a module pin exemption for `tinyjuice` to carry on-demand summarization changes ahead of the next release. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>

The test assertions for artifact storage paths were missing the "tool-results" directory prefix, causing them to look for artifacts in the wrong location. Updated all test path expectations to match the actual storage layout where artifacts are persisted under the "tool-results" subdirectory. The integration test for the tokenjuice module's summary path was rewritten to match the new on-demand behaviour. Previously the test verified that a summary was automatically written and the model was called back; now it asserts that ingest returns a recovery handle without invoking the model, even when a registered callback and a result above the summary threshold are present. The test name and doc comment were updated to reflect the deferred-summary semantics, and the skip condition was relaxed so the test always runs when the module is built. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Reformat two multi-line assertions in the deferred summary test to improve readability by splitting them across multiple lines, making the code easier to follow without changing any behavior. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The test for deferred summary was passing `enabled: false` to `compact_tool_output`, which prevented the compaction logic from running and made the test ineffective. Setting `enabled: true` ensures the test exercises the actual deferral behaviour. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>

Drive the on-demand summary mode through an end-to-end test
The previously raised e2e finding still stands. This revision sets llm_summary_mode: OnDemand, so tool results above summarizer_payload_threshold_tokens no longer get an ingest-time LLM summary — they are stored behind a TinyJuice recovery handle and the summary model is invoked only when the agent asks for one with juice_summarize. The default summarizer_max_payload_tokens also drops from 2,000,000 to 64,000 in config/schema/context.rs. None of the 311-file e2e harness touches this path and no e2e test changed. The new Rust tests call compact_tool_output/install_request directly, and the module test is skipped unless TINYJUICE_TEST_MODULE is set; they do not drive the running core/app the way a user would. An end-to-end test would run the core with a registered model callback, deliver a tool result above the threshold, and assert the model is not called at ingest, a recovery handle is produced, a summary appears only after juice_summarize is requested, and the 64k default is what a default config installs.

Summary
install_requestnow setsllm_summary_mode = OnDemand, so a large result gets deterministic compression and a recovery handle. The model writes a summary only when the agent callsjuice_summarize.context.summarizer_max_payload_tokensdrops from 2,000,000 to 64,000, and its doc comment is updated. The doc comment forsummarizer_payload_threshold_tokensnow describes the on-demand model.vendor/tinyjuicemoves tosenamakel/tinyjuice@021bcfc, the head of tinyjuice#56, which is stacked on tinyjuice#55.Merge these first: tinyhumansai/tinyjuice#55, then tinyhumansai/tinyjuice#56. The gitlink points at the fork branch commit until they land; move it to the merged commit afterwards.
Problem
Every orchestrator tool output over
summarizer_payload_threshold_tokensstarted an automatic LLM summary (inference/tokenjuice/mod.rsinstall_request→llm_summary_enabled, then TinyJuicesummarize::maybe_summarize). Each large output stalled the turn for up to 8 s and cost a billed call. When the timeout fired it cancelled a request that had already been billed, and it also tripped the breaker. With a 2M-token payload cap, a single summary could send a 418k-token request.Solution
LlmSummaryMode::{Auto, OnDemand}, defaulting to OnDemand, and makesjuice_summarizemodel-backed throughrepl::run_op_with_model/repl_tools_with_model:effective_max_input_tokens, about 6k tok/s of prefill).install_requestand lowers the payload cap to 64k.repl_tools_tests.rsgets the same footer assertion as fix(agent): verbatim file reads, no LLM summary; clearer juice tool guidance #6967 (juice_find/juice_summarize, with the slice read before retrieve). It is needed because this gitlink includes tinyjuice#55's footer change. The hunk matches fix(agent): verbatim file reads, no LLM summary; clearer juice tool guidance #6967's, so whichever PR lands second merges cleanly.juice_summarizestill runs TinyJuice's deterministic op in-process (repl_tools.rscallsrepl_toolswithout a model). Giving it the turn's summarizer model needs a turn-boundGenerateTicketat tool-execution time. Tools get noRunContext, andPayloadSummarizer::prepareneeds one, so that wiring is a follow-up. Until then the orchestrator gets no LLM summaries at all, which is the "never automatically" half of openhuman: tinyjuice discards a tool-output summary that finished just past its 8s timeout #6955.modules/registry/records_memory_juice.rs(v0.5.2). Ingest stays Auto-equivalent until a TinyJuice release with Evaluate all the functions/code in the rust codebase and remove any codebase that is unused/unreachable via the RPC/CLI #56 is pinned. An older module ignores the newllmSummaryModefield, and the contract version is unchanged.Submission Checklist
