System Requirements

Before you attempt to use simdeplower its important to know a few things.

  1. simdeplower is just a wrapper around a few tools like ovftool and vmrun
  2. Your host will need to have enough resources to run the VMWare vCenter Server Appliance.
  3. simdeplower will not work if you do not have Fusion or Workstation. They are required.
  4. In theory Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX should all work, but at this time only OSX has been tested
  5. You should consult VMWare documentation to find out Min CPU and RAM for the VCSA version you are trying to deploy.
  6. You will need to have the VCSA OVA files on your system already. simdeplower will not download them from the internet for you.
  7. simdeplower has only been tested on python 2.7.x for best results please use 2.7.x
