ci: skip the no-commit-to-branch hook in the prek gate - #641
Merged
Merged
Conversation
The hook from #627 refuses a local commit on main. On a push-to-main CI run the checkout is main, so the quality gate has failed on every main push since 2026-10-05 while PR runs stayed green. The GitHub ruleset already enforces the rule server-side. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

## Why Four rustls advisories landed on 2026-10-14 against the pinned 0.23.45, which turned `cargo deny` red on every PR (seen on #641) and the daily audit red: - RUSTSEC-2026-0346 — `Debug` impls expose TLS session secrets - RUSTSEC-2026-0347 — buffered app data sent to outer server after ECH rejection - RUSTSEC-2026-0348 — Brotli certificate decompression can allocate 1 GiB pre-auth - RUSTSEC-2026-0349 — unauthenticated ServerHello downgrades later key exchange ## What - `Cargo.lock`: rustls 0.23.45 → 0.23.46 (`cargo update -p rustls`). `cargo audit -D warnings` and `cargo deny check advisories` are clean locally. - `audit-cron.yml`: add `checks: write`. The manual run of the daily audit ended with "Resource not accessible by integration" because `rustsec/audit-check` publishes a check run. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Why
no-commit-to-branch(added in #627) guards a developer's local commit onmain. On a push-to-main CI run the checkout ismain, so the prek quality gate has failed on every push tomainsince 2026-10-05 (PR runs are unaffected because they check out a feature branch). What
Add
--skip no-commit-to-branchto the prek extra-args, next to the other three CI-only skips, with a comment explaining why. The GitHub ruleset already enforces the rule server-side, so nothing is lost. Also updated
CLAUDE.md lists the three skipped hooks; this adds the fourth to the "Reproduce the CI gate" command and table.
