Pawncheck Command
New in RICS 1.46 (August 1, 2026).
!pawncheck is a quick injury-only report for another viewer's assigned pawn. It answers: "is that colonist hurt?" without dumping body type, comfort range, implants, or the rest of a full !mypawn body report.
This page is the knowledge source for the new command and the 1.46 behavior changes. Copy or ingest this file when updating the AI chatbot database.
Use this section to refresh bot / viewer knowledge. These are live as of RICS 1.46.
| Command | Who can use it | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
!pawncheck <viewer> |
Everyone (default) | Free | Injury / visible-condition report for that viewer's pawn |
| Change | What it means in chat / colony |
|---|---|
!surgery now respects Require Research
|
If the global research gate is on, unresearched surgeries are blocked and the reply names the missing research. Do not tell viewers they can buy an implant the colony has not researched. |
| One Mechlink per pawn | A pawn cannot stack extra Mechlinks. Do not suggest a second Mechlink "for more bandwidth." |
| Broken incident defs no longer empty the Events store | Mods with invalid incident workers no longer crash event rebuild. Events Editor should stay populated. |
| Twitch Bot Username auto-fill | If Bot Username is left blank, RICS copies the Channel Name. Connection is more reliable. |
| Safer startup messages | Some early Messages.Message calls were removed so DefOfs are not used before they exist. Errors still go to the log. |

!mypawn body(full report) or!mypawn health(capacities). -
Heal injuries:
!healpawn,!healpawn all,!healpawn <viewer>. -
Dead pawn:
!revivepawn—!pawncheckonly reports that the pawn is dead. -
Vanished / kidnapped pawn:
!rescueme(subscriber; not a health check).
!pawncheck <viewer>

!mypawn bodyfor your own pawn. - Case-insensitive viewer name (Twitch / YouTube / Kick username).
- Default permission: everyone.

-

useCommandCooldownis on; default seconds is 0 unless the streamer changes it in the Command Editor). - Game must be loaded. Pawn assignment is not available on the main menu.
Header:
🩺 Pawn check — <name>:
Then, per body part (head-to-toe), visible injuries and medical conditions:
- Part name + current / max HP, e.g.
Left Lung (8/15) - Condition names with severity markers
- Counts when the same condition stacks (
(x2)) - Critical conditions listed first
If the pawn is fine:
<name> has no visible injuries. ✅
Visible conditions use the same filter as !mypawn body: healthy implants are skipped. You see wounds, bleeding, diseases, missing parts, and similar problems — not a shopping list of bionics.
Limits (keeps chat short):
- Up to 12 body parts
- Up to 20 condition lines
- Overflow:
... and N more body parts with conditions
Patient name prefers the pawn's nick / short name, then the viewer's display name.
!pawncheck is not a full pawn sheet. It does not include:
- Body type
- Comfort temperature range
- Implant / bionic catalog (use
!mypawn implantson your pawn) - Health capacities (consciousness, moving, etc.) — that is
!mypawn health - Skills, traits, gear, needs, relations, genes, or mechs
- A heal, tend, or surgery
It also cannot inspect a pawn that is not assigned to a viewer.
!pawncheck <viewer> |
!mypawn body |
|
|---|---|---|
| Whose pawn? | Another viewer (required) | Your assigned pawn |
| Body type / comfort | No | Yes |
| Injuries / conditions | Yes (compact) | Yes (fuller report + part filter) |
| Filter by body part | No | Yes — !mypawn body arm
|
| Implants fluff | Skipped | Full body report includes more context |
| Heal anything? | No | No |
After a raid, typical flow:
-
!pawncheck alice— is Alice's pawn bleeding? - If yes and target heal is enabled:
!healpawn alice - For your own wounds:
!mypawn bodythen!healpawn

!pawncheck @MasieLamia
Good uses
- During or after a raid: "Is Alice down?"
- Before spending coins on
!healpawn <viewer> - AI / storyteller: check another colonist without running the long
!mypawnsheet
Bad uses
-
!pawncheckwith no name - Checking yourself — use
!mypawn body - Checking a random colonist who is not a viewer pawn — this command only resolves assigned viewer pawns
- Treating a "no injuries" result as a full medical all-clear for capacities (still check
!mypawn healthif they seem slow or blind)
Command Editor → pawn check:
- Enable / disable
- Permission (default everyone)
- Cooldown seconds
- Not a store purchase — there is no coin cost in the def
-
!mypawn— your pawn (body,health,implants,genes, …) -
!healpawn/!healpawn all/!healpawn <viewer>— actually heal -
!surgery— implants and procedures (research-gated in 1.46) -
!revivepawn— dead pawns -
!rescueme— vanished / kidnapped / left-behind pawn (not injuries)
Facts to index (do not invent extra syntax):
- New command in RICS 1.46:
!pawncheck <viewer>. - Injury-only. Other viewer's assigned pawn only.
-
@prefix optional. No arguments → usage string. - Healthy implants are hidden. "No visible injuries" ≠ a capacity report.
- Dead target → say they are dead; suggest
!revivepawn. - Unassigned username → they have no pawn; do not invent injuries.
-
!surgeryis research-gated when Require Research is on. - Only one Mechlink per pawn.
- Do not TTS-dump a long injury list; summarize bleeding / missing parts / "they're fine."
