…mmunity, a practice AI The 3D board meant nothing on the second guide, so the page is a desk of small windows now: the reader's real Pattern Lab in a browser window, a practice community (the community's real styles and words, with Origin and Patterns 1-3 as placeholders, nothing fetched), and a practice AI that answers the Lab's two prompts with a real preset's JS and then that preset's real .h. A drawn pointer shows each step and waits for the reader to do it; it never clicks in the Lab. Narrow screens keep the screenshot slides. Played through as a reader in 1440x900 and 1280x800, en and ko, reduced motion; keyboard-only for the community. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
… write
commitRangeEdit wrote the range to the store from inside a setEditingRange
updater, which React runs while rendering KnobsPanel; the autosave
subscriber then re-rendered PatternLabClient mid-render ("Cannot update a
component while rendering a different component"). The write is in the
blur handler now. Enter, blur, rounding, clamping, Escape, bad input and
switching boxes behave exactly as before (traced step by step, identical).

… site The console's chrome adds ?device=<the panel's IP> to every link to patternflow.work, and the site keeps that as the reader's own panel. In the guide's demo the panel is simulated, so clicking Edition, the update link or the footer saved 192.168.0.42 as the reader's real board. The demo now takes the address back off those links (checked: before, all three carried ?device=192.168.0.42; after, none do). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
/guide (and /ko) now lets the reader pick by where they are: Build (solder one from scratch), Play (the first hour, moved to /guide/play) and Make (patterns and the extras, /guide/make). Each guide numbers its chapters from 01, "Stuck here?" names the guide, and old addresses such as /guide#flash-3 land on the same step under /guide/play. The flash button, BUILD_GUIDE 8.1 and the README point at the new address. /guide/build is new: seven chapters on the 3D stage, from gathering the parts to closing the back. The board's parts fly into their real KiCad holes in soldering order, the case prints on its four plates, the panel, board, encoders, wiring and DevKit go in. The parts list is read from hardware/bom/bom_v3.9.csv when the page is built. First pass: the maker has corrections to the panel model and the assembly order, next. The Lab-mirror code the make page no longer uses is gone; the stage files are back to what they were before it. .gitignore's build/ rule was hiding web/src/app/guide/build/ and now excepts web/src. npm run build passes (eight static guide routes); tsc, eslint, vitest (240). … in from the front BUILD_GUIDE 6 and the case README described a separate "LED-panel mounting part" for every build. That is the for_other_panels/ variant. On the standard 256 mm and 330 mm prints the twelve tabs are part of the frame (see 02_printed_parts.jpg): the panel is seated from the front and screwed to the tabs from behind. …r, the panel from the front Hub: the device alone, and under it Build, Play and Make as a number, a name and one line each; chapter names show on hover or focus. Pointing at Play turns a knob and gives the board back as it was. Build guide, after the maker's first look: - no multimeter anywhere: the short check and the powered check are gone (7 chapters, 27 steps), and a test fails if a probe or meter comes back - the LED panel goes in from the front and is screwed to the frame's tabs from behind; its back is rebuilt from the photos (HUB75 IN across the top, OUT at the bottom, the power header below the centre) - the power lead comes up through the small cable hole under J4, not the wide opening - the parts list is one calm line per part, details behind the line or in the linked BOM; the LED panel line keeps its recommended listing and the compatibility link - animation fixes from two review passes: the DevKit's seating is seen, the power plug carries its wires, printed parts no longer vanish, the lit panel does not shine through its own back, cards fit short laptops Play and Make: the phone card no longer shows the cable through it, digits readers must read are out of the pixel face, hold demos no longer flash a value pill, tutorial hints match what the pointer points at. tsc, eslint, vitest (278) and npm run build pass. The short check before first power (5) and the continuity / 5 V check before seating the DevKit (7) are not needed for a normal build; the web guide already left them out. The USB-C warning no longer leans on them. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Everything on dev since #463. Details are in #464.
What goes live
/guidebecomes a hub with three guides: Build, Play, Make. Old addresses such as/guide#flash-3still land on the same step, now under/guide/play./guide/build: the new 3D build guide, 7 chapters and 27 steps./guide/makebecomes a hands-on tutorial: the real Pattern Lab in a window, a practice community, a practice AI and a guiding pointer.Checked
npm run buildpasses with eight static guide routes. tsc and eslint are clean, and vitest passes 278 tests. CI was green on #464's head.To check after deploy
../hardware/bom/bom_v3.9.csvat build time. On Vercel the root directory isweb/, so this needs files outside the root to be included in the build. If they aren't, the card shows a link to the CSV instead of the list. I'll look at the live page.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
