Features
Features in MacOSCleaner v2.3.0.
Scans 55+ categories in parallel using a database of 2,343 path definitions covering 304 apps and 92 CLI toolchains. Base cleanup covers system caches, app logs, and browser caches; extended options and review-only categories are opt-in. Includes a cleanup history window (⌘Y). See Smart Cleanup.
Master-detail split interface (HSplitView) with side-by-side group and file inspection. Staged detection pipeline: file size → 4 KB header hash → full SHA-256. Quick Look previews (Space), high-resolution photo previews, and smart selection actions. See Duplicate File Finder.
Folder drill-down with breadcrumb navigation, honest APFS allocated block sizing, recursive category filters (Videos, Audio, Photos, Documents, Archives), and search. Preview files with Quick Look (Space). Dataless iCloud items are skipped for safety. See Disk Space Analyzer.
Forensic residual detection across 30 evidence types (Bundle ID, Team ID, Spotlight metadata, Launch Services) and 2,343 cataloged remnant paths. 3-stage pipeline: soft quit → launchd helper bootout → file trashing. Two tabs: Applications and Leftovers (orphaned residuals with evidence scoring). Intel-only app badges. Post-uninstall leftovers sheet. See Application Uninstaller.
Five App Intents for Siri, Shortcuts, and Automator: clean developer caches, clean a category, get storage status, run scheduled cleanup, and empty Trash. Sensitive intents require authentication. See Siri & Automation.
Live CPU and memory monitoring with termination safeguards for critical system processes (kernel_task, launchd). Flat or Grouped view. Whitelist and Blacklist prevent accidental termination. See Process Manager.
Scans LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons from user and system directories. Categorizes into User, Third-party, and System services. Load/unload, Show in Finder, and service removal (launchd bootout + trash) with confirmation. See Startup Services.
On-device AI classification with structured verdicts (safe / caution / danger) and streaming explanations for files, processes, and startup services. Uses FoundationModels (requires macOS 26.0+). Fully offline on Apple Silicon. Toggle in Settings. See Apple Intelligence.
Maintenance utilities in Settings → General:
-
Touch ID for sudo — detects hardware support and current state; provides the command to enable it in Terminal (macOS 26 SIP blocks in-app modification of
/private/etc/pam.d/sudo_local) -
Rebuild Spotlight Index — erases and rebuilds the Spotlight store (
mdutil -E -i on /), useful when search results are missing or stale
Spotlight reindex requests administrator authorization.
Shows disk usage activity rings, system info (model, OS, CPU, RAM), cleanup history, and statistics. Recent operations summary with a dedicated History window (⌘Y).
The UI is fully translated into 14 languages: English, Русский, Українська, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, 日本語, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 한국어, Polski, Português (Brasil), العربية (with native RTL layout). Dates and byte counts format per language.
