The first time you start KLog, a Setup Wizard ("Welcome to KLog!") walks you through the minimum configuration needed before you can start logging.

The wizard explains: *"Before you can start using KLog, you will be asked to: enter your callsign, CQ zone, etc. and main configuration."* It also reminds you that KLog is free software, and that it supports QSL management, import and export of ADIF and Cabrillo file formats, and many other features.

1. License acknowledgement

The wizard shows the KLog license information and asks you to Acknowledge that you accept the terms before continuing ("Acknowledge to the terms of the license").

2. Country (DXCC entity) data download

KLog needs the DX entities database (cty.csv) to identify the country/entity of the stations you work, show award status, etc. The wizard offers to Download this data now.

Click Download to fetch it immediately (recommended), or Ignore to skip this step and do it later from Settings → World / Entity Editor.

3. Station data

Finally, enter your callsign, locator, CQ/ITU zone and other basic station information. This is the same data you can review and change later in Settings → User Data & Station Profile or Station Profiles.

Once you finish the wizard, KLog opens the main window and you are ready to enter your first QSO. You can revisit any of these settings at any time from the Setup dialog — see Settings.
